Thank you for buying this Husk y Drinks Cooler. It has been designed and manufactured for years of trouble-free service. Operation is very simple, but please take a few minutes to read this booklet. It contains impor tant safety information, and tips to ensure you receive the best possible ser vice from your Husky Drinks Cooler.

This model is a free standing appliance and should NOT be built in. It uses thermoelectric technology to cool drinks to approximately 15°C below ambient temperature to a minimum of 7°C. It is not intended to operate like, or compete with, a conventional compressor-driven refrigerator. It is intended strictly for domestic use. This drinks cooler is not suitable for the storage of fresh food or perishable drinks.

IMPORTANT: Please read this manual before installing and switching on this appliance. The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for incorrect installation and usage of this appliance. Please keep this manual in a safe place for future reference.

• Do not allow children to play with the appliance, or to sit on it or hang onto the door

• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision

• Bottles containing alcohol must be sealed in air tight bottles or containers to avoid spillages or fermentation

DISPOSAL OF OLD APPLIANCES

BE SURE TO MAKE ANY LOCKS UNUSABLE. IF POSSIBLE, REMOVE THE DOOR (S) AND DISCARD SEPARATELY. WARNING – CHEMICAL HAZARD: DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO PL AY WITH THE OLD APPLIANCE. CONTACT YOUR LOCAL AUTHORITY FOR PROPER DISPOSAL PROCEDURES.

Before disposing of an old appliance, please make sure it is switched off and safe. Unplug the appliance and break any locks in order to avoid children becoming tr apped. Please note: if the cooling system contains gases and refrigerants it will require specialist waste disposal. Contact your local waste disposal depot for proper disposal of an old appliance and cont act your local authority if you have any questions. Please ensure the pipework of your appliance is not damaged pr ior to disposal.

DISPOSAL OF PACKAGING

All the packaging materials with your Husky appliance may be disposed of without danger to the environment. The cardboard carton and polythene wrappers are recyclable – check with your local authority for the best recycling options. The expanded polystyrene materials included in the packaging can be placed in general waste.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE PLUGGED INTO AN EARTHED SOCKET.

• Before switching on, make sure that the voltage of your electricity supply is the same as that on the rating plate. This appliance is designed to operate on 220~240V AC; 50Hz. Connection to any other power source may damage the appliance

• This appliance may be ﬁtted with a non-rewireable plug. If it is necessary to change the fuse in the plug, the fuse cover must be reﬁtted. If the fuse cover is lost or damaged, the plug must not be used until a suitable replacement is found

• If the plug has to be changed, because it not suitable for your socket or becomes damaged in any way, it should be replaced by a qualiﬁed electrician. The plug removed must be disposed of safely as insertion into a 13 Amp socket could cause an electrical hazard

• Always remember to unplug your appliance before cleaning.

HOW TO MINIMISE THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF YOUR HUSKY APPLIANCE

• Locate the coolest area of the room, away from sources of heat, and out of the direct sunlight. One characteristic of thermoelectric units is the length of time it requires to stabilise from having the door opened and shut frequently. It may be necessary to wait longer for the temperature shown on the display to return to its former level once the door has been opened for too long. This is normal for this type of unit.

• Energy consumption will be lower if the appliance stands in a well ventilated space and in particular if the vent on the appliance is clear of obstruction

• Do not place the appliance in direct sunlight or near a heat source such as ovens, radiators, heaters, etc as this will increase energy consumption

• Keep the door closed as much as possible. Ensure there are no obstructions preventing the doors from closing properly

• Setting the temperature to a colder temperature means higher energy consumption, so set only as cool as you really require

• Do not overﬁll the appliance - overﬁlling means the air cannot circulate freely inside the cabinet which may slow the process of cooling and make the unit less efﬁcient

• Turn the appliance off completely if it is not required for a period of days or longer to avoid wasting energy (see also section ‘When your appliance is not in use’).

HANDLING YOUR APPLIANCE

• To lift the appliance safely, tilt it backwards by no more than 45 degrees, hold the base and rear corners of the appliance carefully. Never use the door handle for lifting

• This appliance is heavy and could cause injur y. Ensure there are adequate people present to move the appliance

If moving the appliance:

• Remove all bottles

• Securely tape down the loose shelves inside the appliance

• Tape the door shut

• Protect the outside of appliance with a blanket, or similar item

• Ensure that the appliance stays in an upright position during transportation.

POSITIONING YOUR APPLIANCE

This appliance is a free-standing appliance and should not be built in.

It is recommended that you site the Drinks Cooler in a room where the ambient temperature is maintained between 23º-26ºC/72º-78ºF. If the ambient temperature of the unit is outside this range, particular ly during extreme hot or cold conditions, performance may be affected and the below speciﬁed temperature ranges may not be reached. It is entirely normal that the temperature on the display ﬂuctuates from the set temperature. This may also occur due to other factors such as opening the door frequently. For this reason it is not suitable to locate the Drinks Cooler in outdoor buildings including conservatories and garages. Temperature Range For Your Drinks Cooler:

• Upper zone: 7-18°C/45-64°F

• Lower zone: 12-18°C/54-64°F

NOTE: When you use the appliance for the ﬁrst time or restart it after having been turned off for a long time, there may be a difference between the temperature you select and the one indicated on the LCD readout. This is normal. Once the drinks cooler has been running for a few hours the display will stabilise, but will often ﬂuctuate from the temperature set.

• Ensure that the appliance is situated:

• Away from direct sunlight and in a dry and well-ventilated space

• Away from stoves, ovens, radiators and any other heating appliances

• With a recommendation of at least 15cm clearance around the appliance

• Do not position the appliance in conser vatories or outbuildings with extreme high or low ambient temperatures

• Do not use outdoors or leave in rain

• Do not place anything on your appliance

• The appliance must be used in the vertical position and stand on an even, ﬂat surface for quieter operation

• Ensure that the plug is easily accessible.

SPECIFICATIONS

• IMPORTANT NOTE: THIS APPLIANCE IS TO BE USED E XCLUSIVELY FOR THE STORAGE OF NON-PERISHABLE DRINKS. It uses thermoelec tric technology to cool drinks to approximately 15°C below ambient temper ature, to a minimum of 7°C. It is not intended to operate like, or compete with, a conventional compressor-driven refrigerator. THIS MODEL IS NOT SUITABLE FOR THE STOR AGE OF FOOD OR PERISHABLE DRINKS

• It is intended s trictly for domestic use.

TO O PER ATE

• When the appliance has been positioned, adjust the levelling feet to ensure the unit is stable. This is essential to ensure quiet running and proper door opening/closing

• Ensure that the appliance is not connected to the power and clean the interior compartment following the instructions on page 8

• Remove all transportation tapes

• Follow the instructions below to set the temperature

• Once connected, the appliance should work for 24 hours continuously until it reaches the required temperature

• During this time, do not open the door frequently or overﬁll the appliance

• There may be an odour when you ﬁrst switch on the appliance, it will disappear as it starts to operate

• If the appliance is unplugged or power lost, you must wait at least 15 minutes before restarting. If you attempt to restart the unit before this delay, the appliance may not start.

These instructions are for ﬁtting the handle on your HUS-CN215 Drinks Cooler. When opening the box, you can see that the handle is not assembled onto the drinks cooler to avoid damage during transportation. You will see two screws holes reser ved for the ﬁxing of the handle on the door panel.

• Please open the door, take the handle part and screws stored in the cavity for transportation

• Carefully remove the magnetic seal and ﬁnd the opposite end of the two screw holes

• Inser t the screws until the tip can be seen on the other end on the front door panel

• Position the handle in front of the screws. Screw clockwise until tight

• Once done, replace the magnetic seal into initial position.

CAPACITY

You may place up to 21 x standard-sized 75cl bot tles in the appliance: 9 in the upper compar tment and 12 in the lower compar tment. As bottles differ widely in size the actual number of bottles may vary.

SETTING THE TEMPERATURE CONTROL

You can display the temperature in either Fahrenheit or Celsius by pressing the °F/°C button. You may change the temperature as you wish by pressing the UP or DOWN buttons on the control panel. The set temperature will increase by 1ºF or 1ºC for each depression of the UP button. The temperature will decrease by 1ºF or 1ºC for each depression of the DOWN button. NOTE: After you select your desired temperature the display will revert to show the current temperature inside the cabinet, but it will gradually fall as it reaches your set temperature. NOTE: When you use the appliance for the ﬁrst time or restart it after having been turned off for a long time, there may be a few degrees difference between the temperature you select and the one indicated on the LCD readout. This is normal. Once the drinks cooler has been running for a few hours the display will stabilise.

The temperature displayed may deviate from your set temperature. The internal temperature varies constantly due to the natural cooling cycle, the door being opened, the introduction of new bottles, or air variations around the position of the thermostat. This is not a sign of malfunction or failure of the drinks cooler.

INTERIOR LIGHT

The interior light may be turned ON or OFF by pushing the “Light” button.

CAPACITY/SHELVES

You may place up to 21 standard-sized 75cl bottles in this appliance. As bottles differ widely in size the actual number of bottles may vary. When loading several beverages at once, it may take longer for the appliance to cool the individual bottles. WARNING: Always check that you can close the door without it touching any of the bottles before shutting it. This is par ticularly impor tant when using larger bottles.

DOOR REVERSAL

The door cannot be reversed on this appliance.

MAINTENANCE & CLEANING

Disconnect the appliance from the power before cleaning. Always reconnect the plug with dry hands. Never pour water over the appliance.

Interior Cleaning

• Clean regularly surfaces that come into contact with appliance contents

• Wash the interior with warm water and neutral detergent such as bicarbonate of soda (5ml to 0.5 litres of water)

• Do not use abrasive products, detergents or soaps

• Wipe the wooden shelves with the same solution

• Dry all surfaces thoroughly.

Exterior Cleaning

• Wash the outer cabinet including the back and bottom of the appliance with warm soapy water

• Do NOT use abrasive products as this can damage the ﬁnish

• Once or twice a year dust the fans on the appliance with a brush or vacuum cleaner to maintain efﬁcient performance

• Dry all surfaces thoroughly.

WHEN YOUR APPLIANCE IS NOT IN USE

If the appliance is not being used for long periods:

• Unplug your appliance

• Clean and dr y the inside of the appliance. Leave the door slightly open to allow it to dry completely, to prevent mould developing within the appliance

• An appliance which is unused without being cleaned may start to smell musty or develop mildew.

POWER FAILURE

If a power cut occurs, do not open the door more often than necessary in order to conserve cold air. Wait at least 15 minutes before restarting. If you attempt to restart the unit before this delay, the appliance may not start.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Before returning your appliance to where you purchased it from, check the following points as you may be able to solve any problem yourself.

The appliance does not work

The temperature is not cold/warm enough

Outer surfaces are wet

Unusual noises or noisy operation

• Check that the appliance is turned on

• Check power cable is plugged in and that the fuse has not blown

• Check that the voltage is correct for the appliance

• Tr y a different socket which is known to work.

• Check power cable is connected and that the fuse has not blown

• The wrong temperature selected. Adjust temperature (see page 8)

• The appliance is overfilled

• Appliance exposed to direct sunlight or heat source

• The door is being opened too often, the door gasket is damaged, and/or the door is not closing completely

• Check that the ambient temperature is within the operational limits of the appliance

• Check that the temperature is set to a suitable temperature

• Ensure that the appliance is at 15cm clear on all sides and NOT built in.

• Water source or leak too near the appliance – dry surfaces thoroughly and move the appliance

• Inner surfaces are wet

• Caused by condensation – dr y the inside of the appliance

• Door opened too often or kept open too often.

• Check that the appliance is on a flat, level surface and is stable

• Check the clearance around the appliance and that it is not touching any other items

• Shelves are out of position

• Hoover the dust from the fan(s).

• Door is opened too often or kept open too long.

• Door opened too often or left open, or the ambient temperature is too high or too humid.

• The temperature shown on the display is showing the temperature of where the sensor is located. It is perfectly normal operation for the temperature to read a different temperature to the set temperature, as the temperature within the appliance will fluctuate continually

• Temperature performance is affected by several factors, i.e. how often the door is opened, the ambient temperature, how full the appliance is, etc

• If the temperature shown is higher than the set temperature, there is no need to reset as the appliance will be continually working to reach the required set temperature

• Check that there is sufficient ventilation around the unit and that the position is freestanding.

• The room temperature is hotter than normal

• A large amount of contents has recently been added to the appliance

• The door is opened too often

• The door is not closed completely

• The temperature control is not set correctly

• The door gasket does not seal proper ly.

• The light button is ‘OFF’.

• The door is misaligned

• Check that no contents are obstructing it

• The appliance is not on a level surface

• The shelves are out of position.

• Check the appliance contents

• Check for spillages inside the appliance. Remove shelves and rack to check prior spills have been cleaned up.

• The set temperature is higher than the internal temperature. Adjust the controller accordingly

• The automatic defrost function has started. This is a normal function.

WARR ANTY

This Husky appliance is guaranteed to be free from defects in parts and manufacture for 12 months from date of purchase, provided that the appliance is used under the normal operating conditions shown within the manual. Your attention is drawn to the following:

• Husky Retail Ltd. will not accept any liability for damage or injury caused by improper use

• Husky Retail Ltd. will not be liable for any damage caused by moving the appliance; improper power supply; defective wiring or fuses; accident, alteration, abuse or misuse of the appliance; abnormal operating conditions; commercial or industrial use; fire; water damage; or customer misuse

• This warranty is void if service on the appliance is performed by any person other than an approved technician, or if the appliance is used for commercial purposes.

This warranty is available only to the original purchaser and is not transferable. Your normal consumer rights are not affected.

If service is required, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE APPLIANCE YOURSELF. Please return the appliance to where you purchased it from. Proof of purchase will be required for any warranty claims. You must retain your original receipt. If service under warranty is required, you will be required to produce this. Please also retain the original packaging should the appliance need to be returned.
