GENERAL INFORMATION
The following steps are guidelines for safe operation of the Huskie EP-100WC. Please take the time to review
them as these are helpful hints that have been accumulated over the years.
1. Never operate the tool without dies or without the cap in place. Ram may be extended more than its stroke if the cap is not in place to function as a stop.
2. Make sure that the cap is in its proper position. When the cap is properly placed, trigger latches into either one of the grooves located on top of cylinder.
3. Securely connect couplers. Ram may not be retracted if couplers are improperly engaged.
4. Never connect or disconnect couplers under hydraulic pressure.
5. Be sure to bleed air from hydraulic system after tool has been overhauled for seal replacement.
6. Fully retract ram when tool is not in use.
7. Keep die grooves of cap and ram clean.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR EP-100WC
1. Connect hoses to pump and press. Upper port is pressure or advance, lower port is the return.
2. Select appropriate dies for the connector being used and attach one die half to die holder and the other
half to ram. Be sure dies are secured by the die retainer pins.
3. Insert conductor into connector and place it between dies for the compression. To insert a splice, press trigger on the cap and twist 90°degree to lift off.
4. Operate pump to 10,000 psi for proper output tonnage.
5. Operate pump to retract the ram.
6. To remove connector from tool, depress trigger and twist cap 90° degrees to lift off.
7. Be sure to attach the dust caps to couplers to prevent damage to the oil ports.
MAINTENANCE
1. Avoid storage of tool in humid environment. Keep tool clean after use.
2. Wipe off dust or compound and keep die grooves and ram area clean.
3. Contact Huskie Tools Service Department at 1-800-860-6170 for any service problems. Daily maintenance
