Grounding Instructions:
This product must be grounded. If it should malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electrical current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This product is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
DANGER: Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electronic shock.
Check with a qualified electrician or serviceman if you are in doubt as to whether this product is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with the product – if it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.
This product is for use on a normal 120-volt circuit and has a grounding plug that looks like the plug illustrated in sketch (A). A temporary adapter that looks like the adapter used in sketches (B) and (C) may be used to connect this plug to a 2-pole receptacle as shown in sketch (B), if a properly grounded plug is not available. The temporary adapter should be used only until a properly grounded outlet (sketch A) can be installed by a qualified electrician. The green colored, rigid ear tab or the like extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box cover. Whenever the adapter is used, it must be held in place by a metal screw.

• Do not put hands or fingers near the massage mechanism or rollers while this product is running. Touching the mechanism can result in injury from the rollers squeezing together.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
• An appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use, and before putting on or taking off parts.
• Do not operate under blanket or pillow. Excessive heating can occur and cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
• Close supervision is necessary when this product is used by, on, or near children, invalids, or disabled persons. Keep children away from extended foot support (or other similar parts).
• Use this product only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer.
• Never operate this product if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. Return this product to a service center for examination and repair.
• Do not carry this appliance by supply cord or use cord as a handle.
• Always keep the power cord away from heated surfaces.
• Never operate this product with the air openings blocked. Keep the air openings free of lint, hair, and the like.
• Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.
• To disconnect, turn all controls to the OFF position, then remove plug from outlet.
• Do not massage any area of the body that is swollen, inflamed or covered with skin eruptions.
• Do not use on unexplained calf pain.
• Do not use this product when standing on a damp floor, or when any part of the body is in contact with plumbing or any similar ground.
• Connect this appliance to a properly grounded outlet only. See GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS.
• Do not use this product if noise above normal sound is heard.
• Do not stand on or in appliance. Use only while seated.
• Use heated surfaces carefully. May cause serious burns. Do not use over sensitive skin area or in the presence or poor circulation. The unattended use of heat by children or incapacitated persons may be dangerous.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• After servicing, zipper must be fastened by wire tie.

• Comfortable clothing is recommended while using this product.
• This product was meant to be used in a relaxed position. Never force any body part into the backrest area while the rollers are moving.
• If you feel any abnormal discomfort during the operation of this product, turn off the power immediately and do not use the product. Consult your physician.
• Do not sit on the controller.
• Do not pull on the AC cord.
• When using this product after it has been in storage, check to see that the product is operating properly prior to use.
• Always confirm that there are no obstacles behind the product and that there is sufficient space to recline.
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:

Unpack the box
To hear the chair voice response when you select an Auto Massage Program or Acupoint detection on the remote control, turn the Voice Response button located on the back of the chair to On (
I).
See page 14 for more information.
2. Install the head pillow
Place the head pillow flap over the top of the headrest to secure the headrest in the desired position.The weighted pillow flap keeps the head pillow in place.

You may want to place the Luxury Ergo Pillow at the base of the backrest, as the pillow helps to position your body properly for foot and calf massages.
Turn the power switch to On (I). The LED lights to confirm that the chair is receiving power.

Plug one end of the power cord into the power panel AC power jack and the other end into a 120-volt wall outlet.

The Human Touch massage chair power panel offers a convenience outlet, which enables you to plug in a low-wattage appliance such as a lamp or laptop. Do not plug in appliances that use wattages higher than 1 AMP, such as a vacuum or a hair dryer.

Install the Fine Floor Protector
Notched end of Floor Protector slides under foot and calf massager (textured side up); hook-and-loop fasteners attach to top side of the chair cross-bar.
1. Deploy the foot and calf massager
Press the legs-up button on the remote control to fully deploy the foot and calf massager. Pull up on the footrest release handle (located on the right-hand side of the footrest), then rotate the footrest away from the chair until there is enough room to reach underneath the front of the chair.
2. Place the Fine Floor Protector
For your safety, before installing the Floor Protector, be sure to turn off the chair at the main power switch and unplug the power cord.
Lift the foot and calf massager wheels a few inches off of the floor. With the hook-and­loop fastener strip facing down, slide the Floor Protector into place as shown.
USING THE FINE FLOOR PROTECTOR
Your Human Touch massage chair is a powerful
precision instrument. An optional Floor Protector is included to ensure smooth operation on fine wood, tile, or thick-pile carpeted floors.
Installing the Floor Protector guards against possible floor damage due to long-term, repeated foot and calf massager deployment.
3. Secure the Fine Floor Protector
Align the hook-and-loop fasteners on the underside of the Floor Protector with the hook-and-loop fasteners on top of the chair crossbar. Press the hook-and-loop edge of the Floor Protector firmly into place to secure it.
4. Complete the installation
Remove any packaging materials left under or around the chair during installation. Return the foot and calf massager to its original locked position. Plug in the chair and turn it on. Press the legs-down button to retract the foot and calf massager.
Remove the Fine Floor Protector before moving the chair to a new location.

1. Deploy the foot and calf massager
Before deploying the foot and calf massager, be sure the area in front of the chair is clear of any obstructions.
While sitting in the chair, use the remote control legs-up button to fully deploy the foot and calf massager.
3. Adjust the backrest
Before adjusting the backrest, be sure the area behind the chair is clear of any obstructions.
Use the remote control recline and incline buttons to adjust the backrest angle for maximum comfort.
4. Converting the foot and calf massager to a footrest
1. While sitting in the chair, pull up on the footrest release handle (located on the right-hand side of the footrest to release the footrest

2. Rotate the footrest away from the chair until it locks into position with the smooth side facing up.
3. Release the footrest release handle.
2. Insert your legs into the foot and calf massager
Place your feet all the way into the foot and calf massage wells. The bottom of your feet and the back of your calves should be touching the well walls.
Should you accidentally attempt to retract the footrest while your legs are in the foot and calf massager, the Human Touch massage chair automatically turns off to protect you from injury.
Do not stand or sit on the footrest.
When changing direction (from Recline to Incline and from Leg Up to Leg Down), there is a slight pause while the chair gears shift. This is perfectly normal.
For an easier exit, retract the footrest and restore the backrest to a full upright position before getting out of the chair.
With the foot and calf massager on top, press and hold the legs-down button to retract the footrest. Press and hold the Restore button to return the backrest to a full upright position.
Make sure the area behind/underneath the footrest is clear of any obstructions before retracting the footrest.

Human Touch massage chair expertly soothes tired muscles from head to toe, using a wide variety of massage techniques that you control.
To accommodate shorter legs, use the remote control legs-down button to retract the foot and calf massager back a few inches.
IMPORTANT: The calf massager must be within a few inches of the fully deployed position to work.

The Human Touch massage chair has a full-featured remote control, designed to make navigating the wide array of features easy. The remote is divided into several sections, spanning the front, back and side. Each section controls a different group of features.

When you’re not using the remote control, tuck it away in the convenient remote control pocket.
Counts down the time remaining in the currently selected 15-minute Auto Massage Program. The Session Timer does not start over at 15 minutes when you change massage modes. This is for your safety, as 15 minutes is the recommended maximum massage duration.

To activate the chair voice response:
The Voice Response switch is located on the back of the chair backrest. Switch to the “On” position to activate this feature. When Voice Response is activated, you will hear an audio response when you select an Auto Massage Program or Acupoint detection using the remote control.

PERCUSSION
Alternates rapid-tapping strokes along the spine to stimulate both spinal muscles and spinal joint areas, emulating the percussive massage technique used in sports medicine for deep muscle therapy.
Flexes spinal joints and relieves pressure on the spinal column, invigorating the entire back area.
ROLLING
Rolls gently up and down your back near your spine.
Warms and loosens your muscles, preparing your back for deeper massage. Relieves muscle tension, improves circulation and relaxes the back.
KNEADING
Kneads your back in a small, circular motion on both sides of your spine simultaneously.
Relieves tension and soreness by lifting and stretching muscles. Improves circulation and helps bring vital nutrients to the spinal area.
COMPRESSION
Presses on spinal muscles and spinal joint areas using alternating strokes and a gentle rocking motion, emulating a technique used in sports medicine and in spinal therapy by chiropractors.
Spreads and applies pressure to deep muscle tissue, forcing it to relax, while the rocking motion loosens spinal joints. Aides in muscle and joint repair due to strain from exercise, long hours bent over a desk, or just day­to-day stress, and can improve mobility and overall posture.

Make sure the area behind/underneath the footrest is clear of any obstructions before retracting the footrest.
Recline — Reclines the backrest to a horizontal position. Incline — Raises the backrest to a vertical position.

Massage Comfort Number
For a softer massage:
1. Press and hold the button to decrease massage intensity and soften the backrest cushion As you hold the
button, the Massage/Comfort number lights ascend, indicating which
Massage/Comfort number is currently selected.

button when you reach the Massage/Comfort number that is most comfortable
for you

For a more intense massage:
1. Press and hold the button to increase massage intensity and firm up the backrest cushion. As you hold the button, the Massage/Comfort number lights descend, indicating which Massage/Comfort number is currently selected.

button when you reach the Massage/Comfort number that is most comfortable
for you.
Press and hold to decrease massage intensity and soften the backrest cushion.
Press and hold to increase massage intensity and firm up the backrest cushion.
You can adjust the Massage/Comfort setting while your massage is in progress.

As you select different Massage/Comfort
numbers, the massage intensity/backrest
contour changes accordingly.
Decrease massage intensity and create soft support
Massage/Comfort Number Seven settings fine-tune massage intensity and contour using the
revolutionary Adaptive Massage Comfort Control technology.
As you adjust your personal Massage Comfort, the numbered LED scale keeps track of your settings.
Customize the Massage/Comfort settings as often as you like during all massage modes. Even when you’re not enjoying a massage, use the Massage/Comfort control to customize the backrest support while sitting in the chair.
Use the massage comfort number scale anytime you want to return to your favorite custom setting.
Set the Massage/Comfort Number to under 3 when using Acupoint Detection (see page 14 for more information about Accupoint Detection).

The Recline Interrupt Safety Sensor, located at the bottom of the backrest, provides added protection for any child, pet, or object located in the Caution Zone behind the chair. The weight-activated Safety
Sensor immediately disables the chair recline function when triggered. Once the object has been cleared from the Caution Zone, the chair recline function is automatically re-enabled.
Keep the area behind the chair clear of all objects. Do not allow pets or small children in the Caution Zone, behind the chair.
Your Human Touch massage chair is a powerful precision instrument.
Some simple precautions will ensure safe, reliable operation.
Recline Interrupt Safety Sensor
If the Recline Interrupt Safety Sensor appears damaged or is not functioning, please contact your distributor.
Do not remove the Recline Interrupt Safety Sensor from the chair.
Do not grasp the Recline Interrupt Safety Sensor while moving or picking up the chair.

1. Turn the Power switch to OFF and unplug the chair from the wall outlet.
2. Turn the fuse holder
(located on the power panel) approximately 1/8 turn
counter-clockwise.
The fuse holder pops out.
3. Replace the fuse with a new fuse of the same value, then reinsert
the fuse
holder into the power panel.
4. Turn the fuse holder 1/8 turn clockwise to secure it.
5. Plug the chair back into the wall outlet and turn it on.
To replace a fuse:
Your Human Touch massage chair has two fuses: one for the chair and one for the convenience outlet.
Your massage chair is a precision instrument that can be damaged if dropped. Use at least two people to move it.
1. Fully retract the foot and calf massager.
Make sure the area behind/underneath the footrest is clear of any obstructions before retracting the footrest.
NEVER pick up the chair by grasping the foot and calf massager.
2. Store the remote control in the side pocket.
3. Grasp the chair at floor level, beneath the side arms.
WARNING: This product is equipped with a thermal resetting protection device. This is an added
safety feature to protect you and this product from overheating. If the product should suddenly stop and will not start, turn the main power switch, located on the back of the product, off and do not operate the product for at least 30 minutes. Failure to turn the product off may result in the product starting unexpectedly when the device cools.

To keep your product working and looking its best, please follow these simple care guidelines.

Cleaning:
1. Be sure to unplug before cleaning.
2. Do not use benzene, thinner or any other solvents on your massage chair.
3. Remove dust on the backrest or armrest with a vacuum cleaner.
4. If the backrest or armrests become dirty, wipe with a damp cloth, then a dry cloth.
5. Common upholstery cleaners may be used for tough stains.
6. When cleaning the remote control or around the power switch, use a dry cloth only. Never use a damp cloth to clean the controller or power switch.
Fabric Care:
To maintain your Human Touch product in optimum condition, dust it frequently and/or vacuum it with a soft brush vacuum extension. Faux Suede products can also be brushed with a suede brush. Wipe with a slighty damp cloth as necessary. For tougher stains on non-leather products, use a mild detergent mixed with water. Leather products should be wiped down occasionally with a leather furniture cleaning solution.
WARNING:
Be sure to test any cleaning solution on a small, inconspicuous part of the product to ensure that the colour does not fade prior to using the solution on the entire product surface.
Maintenance and Repair:
1. The mechanisms of this product are specially designed and constructed to be maintenance free. No periodic lubrication or servicing is required.
2. Your chair should only be serviced by an authorised service centre.
Storage:
1. When not in use for a long period of time, we recommend that the chair be covered, the power lead be coiled and that the unit be placed in an environment free of dust and moisture.
2. Do not store near heat or open flame. Do not leave this product exposed to direct sunlight for long periods of time. This may cause fading or damage.
Miscellaneous:
1. Foreign objects should not be inserted between the massage nodes or the unit housing.
2. Care should be taken not to overload the unit.
