Intended Use
Convertible Chair
Human Care’s Conver tible Chair is a mechanical positioning chair that can be adjusted to various positions. The device is used to alter postural positions and to provide a means of transferring a patient horizontally from a height adjustable bed or trolley to the chair and vice versa. The chair can then be transformed from a supine position into the sitting position without ever lifting the patient.
Its construction is made of steel tubular components, on to which is fitted foam-filled upholstery. The mechanism allows the chair to transform from the horizontal supine position into a chair, which can then be tilted. The reclining function allows the chair and patient profile to change from a sitting position to a horizontal or supine position suitable for tranferring. The Tilt-in-Space function allows the I-400 / I-700 to be independently inclined to the rear (Tilt-inSpace).
CE MARKING symbol indicates product meets requirements of EC directives and can be sold in North America.

Usage Guidelines
Adjusting the Convertible Chair Seat Height
Seat Height Adjustment
The Converble Chair is adjustable within a 4”/10cm range. Do not set height above 4”/10cm mark.
1. With a 5mm Allen Wrench loosen the six bolts on the height adjustment diecasts on both the left and right side. Be careful not to unscrew the bolts.
2. Using the Allen Wrench, rotate the bolt counter-clockwise to raise and clockwise to lower alternating between left and right sides in 1/2”/1.3cm increments. Repeat until seat height reaches desired height.
3. Tighten bolts ① and ② on both sides. After tightening
these bolts, tighten bolt ③ on
both sides.
Make sure all bolts on both sides are fully ghtened aer nishing height adjustment of seat.
Convertible Chair Levers
The Converble Chair has three adjusng levers:
1. Headrest height adjusng lever
2. Headrest depth/angle adjusng lever
3. Footrest height adjusng lever.
These levers which are in the same form have two funcons: Funcon 1: Tighten / Loosen; Funcon 2: Change lever posion in a ghtened state
Never change the lever posion in a loosened state - the lever cannot be adjusted unless it is ghtened.
Lever Function 1

Adjust the lever position by pulling lever out while in a tightened state.
Adjusting the Convertible Chair Headrest
Depth/Angle Adjustment
When loosening the headrest depth/angle adjustment lever, be sure to hold the headrest securely in place. Loosening the lever with the headrest unsupported may cause the headrest to drop abruptly and an injury or
accident may occur.
1. Hold the headrest handle securely with one hand.
2. Loosen the headrest depth/ angle adjusting lever with the other hand by turning it counterclockwise.
3. Position by pushing out the headrest (both depth and angle) when the adjusting lever is in its loose position.
4. Once the depth and angle are correctly positioned, secure the headrest in place by turning the lever clockwise.
5. To return the headrest to its original angle, hold the headrest securely in one hand so that it does not fall abruptly and loosen the lever by turning it counterclockwise.
6. Move the headrest from the existing position to the original position and secure in place by turning the adjustment lever clockwise.
When moving the headrest back to the home posion, ensure that nothing comes between the headrest and the chair frame.
