EMERGENCY LIGHTING FIXTURES
CAUTION:
Before installing, make sure you are compliant with area classications, failure to do so may result in bodily injury, death and property damage. Do not attempt installation until you are familiar with the following procedures. All installation must comply with the applicable Electrical Code.
Make sure that the circuit is de-energized before starting installation or maintenance.
Verify that the installation is grounded. Failure to ground will create electrical shock hazards, which can cause serious injury and or death.

2. INSTALLATION
CAUTION: To prevent high voltage on red
& yellow output leads prior to installation, inverter connector must be open. Join inverter
connector after installation, then turn power
ON. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, disconnect the AC input and inverter before servicing. The emergency ballast must be connected to an unswitched power source (120/277 V).
NOTE: All installations must comply with the applicable local and/or National Electrical Code.
IMPORTANT: Before installing, check the
xture nameplate to be sure you have the correct xture. Verify ground continuity in the electrical system.
Refer to nameplate for specic ambient and supply wire temperature rating.

FIG.2
1. Install splice box per Instruction Sheet K0451 supplied with the product.
2. Refer to Fig.1 for general guidance. Hang the xture on the splice box hinge.
3. Attach the green (ground) lead to the splice
box ground screw (provided).
4. For VEB/DEB Series connect the supply
common lead to marked “COM” & supply line voltage hot lead (120 or 277) to marked “LINE” at the terminal block. For VEQ series connect the supply common lead to marked “COM” & supply line voltage hot lead to marked “LINE” at the terminal block.
5. Mount the lamps on socket supplied with the xture.
6. Join the emergency ballast(s) inverter connector(s) as shown in Fig.2.
7. Close the ballast tank against the splice box and tighten the screw to secure it.
8. Install globe or refractor in the globe thread. Hand tighten.
9. Install globe guard (if required) over lugs on ballast tank, turn until stopped. Secure with screw.
10. To install reectors, back out (4) screws provided in ballast tank boxes enough to slip the reector over the screws and twist in place. Tighten screws to secure reector.
11. Turn ON the supply circuit to operate the xture.
NOTE: For push to test station installation use Killark control station catalog number FXCS_5B2 (e/push to test nameplate) or equivalent. Refer to Fig.3 for typical wiring diagram.
