GEC SERIES OUTLET BODIES
Before installing, make sure you are compliant with area classications, failure to do so may result in bodily injury, death and property damage. Do not attempt installation until you are familiar with the following procedures. All installation must comply with the applicable Electrical Code.
Make sure that the circuit is de-energized before starting installation or maintenance.
Verify that the installation is grounded. Failure to ground will create electrical shock hazards, which can cause serious injury and or death.

PART I : Normal Application : For use in Class I, Groups C & D, Class II, Groups E, F & G and Class III Hazardous Locations.
The GEC series outlet bodies standard application: the proper assembly of the cover and body for Groups C & D requires minimum of six threads (turns) engagement to comply with the UL/CSA Standards requirements.
PART II : Extended Application : For use in Class I, Groups B, C & D, Class II, Groups E, F & G and Class III Hazardous Locations. Enclosure Type 3, 4 & 4X as dened by the Canadian Electrical Code and the National Electrical Code.
The design of the GEC series outlet bodies has been updated with additional features. The proper assembly of the cover and body, requires minimum of eight (8) threads (turns) engagement, to be suitable for Class I, II, III Groups B, C, D, E, F and G. In addition, when supplied with an o-ring, the unit is qualied as NEMA Type 3, 4 & 4X for outdoor use. It is the responsibility of the installer to conrm that the above thread engagement is met, when installing the unit in Group “B” Hazardous Classied Locations.
