General Information
The Model 723-001 Remote Handset/Speaker Amplifier is an important component of the Page/Party®
communicat i ons system and an int egral part of GAI - Tr onic s desktop , desk-edge, and flu sh-mount s tations.
It has been designed to be remotely mounted wit hin an enclosu re, allowing the associated su bsets to be
placed on a desktop, mounted on the side of a desk, or to be flush mounted. The Model 723-001 Remote
Handset/Speaker Amp lif ier is cons tru c ted of fa b rica ted steel durable enough for even the toughest
indust ria l environments.
Installation
WARNING
Class 1, Div. 2 usage.
CAUTION
Do not install this equipment in hazardous areas or areas other than those indicated on the equipment
approval list in the S p e cificat io ns section of this manual. Such installation may cause a safety hazard
and consequent injury or property damage.
To install t he remote handset/spea ker amplifier, plug the amplifier into the a ppropriate enclosure and
tighten t he fou r screws in the cor ners of t he amplifier. See Figure 1 for the typical installation details .

Model 7265-101 Desktop Subset. Although your specific configuration may be different, installation

Operation
GAI-Tronics offer s two types of P age/P arty® syst ems: Single pa rty wit h one p age line and one part y line,
and mult i- party with one p age line and five party lines allowing up to f ive s i multaneous two-wa y
conversations.
For single party, complete the following step s to make a page a nnouncement:
1. Lift the handset f rom the cr adle.
2. Depr es s and hold t he handset pressba r.
3. Speak direct ly into the micr ophone to broadcast your a nnouncement over t he lou dspeakers.
4. Releas e t he handset p ress b ar, and if request ed, wait for a resp onse.
The paged individual ( s) res ponds by picking up a st ation handset.
For multi-party, complete t he f ollowing steps to make a p age annou nc ement:
1. Lift the handset f rom the cr adle.
2. If part y line conversa tion is desired, r otat e t he s elect or swit c h to an unoc c upied pa rty line.
3. Depr es s and hold t he handset pressba r.
4. Speak direct ly into the micr ophone to broadcast your a nnouncement over t he lou dspeakers.
5. Releas e t he handset p ress b ar, and if request ed, wait for a resp onse.
The paged individual(s) responds by picking u p a station hands et and tu rning the select or swit c h to the
requested party line.
With either type of equ ipment, the f u ll duplex p arty line communicati on is not broadcast over the sys tem
spea kers. O ther individuals can also pick up and join t he c onversa tion at any t ime. Always return the
handset to the cradle following a pa ge or a p arty line conversation.

Maintenance
The following adjustments are accessible through the rear chassis of the remote amplifier using a small
standard scr ewdriver. Each adjustment is clearly labeled:
• Microphone Gain: adjusts the ga in level from the microphone s i gnal to the p age or p arty lines.
• Receiver Sid et o n e: adjusts the s i gnal transmit ted from the microphone to t he receiver of a handset.
• Receiver Volume: a djusts the gain level fr om a party line to the receiver.

Warranty
Equipment. GAI-Tronics warrants for a period of one (1) year from the date of shipment, that any
GAI-Tronics equipment supplied hereunder shall be free of defects in material and workmanship, shall
comply with the then-current product specifications and product literature, and if applicable, shall be fit
for the purpose specified in the agreed-upon quotation or proposal document. If (a) Seller’s goods prove
to be defective in workmanship and/or material under normal and proper usage, or unfit for the purpose
specified and agreed upon, and (b) Buyer’s claim is made within the warranty period set forth above,
Buyer may return such goods to GAI-Tronics’ nearest depot repair facility, freight prepaid, at which time
they will be repaired or replaced, at Seller’s option, without charge to Buyer. Repair or replacement shall
be Buyer’s sole and exclusive remedy. The warranty period on any repaired or replacement equipment
shall be the greater of the ninety (90) day repair warranty or one (1) year from the date the original
equipment was shipped. In no event shall GAI-Tronics warranty obligations with respect to equipment
exceed 100% of the total cost of the equipment supplied hereunder. Buyer may also be entitled to the
manufacturer’s warranty on any third-party goods supplied by GAI-Tronics hereunder. The applicability
of any such third-party warranty will be determined by GAI-Tronics.
Services. Any services GAI-Tronics provides hereunder, whether directly or through subcontractors,
shall be performed in accordance with the standard of care with which such services are normally
provided in the industry. If the services fail to meet the applicable industry standard, GAI-Tronics will
re-perform such services at no cost to buyer to correct said deficiency to Company's satisfaction provided
any and all issues are identified prior to the demobilization of the Contractor’s personnel from the work
site. Re-performance of services shall be Buyer’s sole and exclusive remedy, and in no event shall GAITronics warranty obligations with respect to services exceed 100% of the total cost of the services
provided hereunder.
Warranty Periods. Every claim by Buyer alleging a defect in the goods and/or services provided
hereunder shall be deemed waived unless such claim is made in writing within the applicable warranty
periods as set forth above. Provided, however, that if the defect complained of is latent and not
discoverable within the above warranty periods, every claim arising on account of such latent defect shall
be deemed waived unless it is made in writing within a reasonable time after such latent defect is or
should have been discovered by Buyer.
Limitations / Exclusions. The warranties herein shall not apply to, and GAI-Tronics shall not be
responsible for, any damage to the goods or failure of the services supplied hereunder, to the extent
caused by Buyer’s neglect, failure to follow operational and maintenance procedures provided with the
equipment, or the use of technicians not specifically authorized by GAI-Tronics to maintain or service the
equipment. THE WARRANTIES AND REMEDIES CONTAINED HEREIN ARE IN LIEU OF AND
EXCLUDE ALL OTHER WARRANTIES AND REMEDIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED BY
OPERATION OF LAW OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF
MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
Return Policy
If the equipment requires service, contact your Regional Service Center for a return authorization number
(RA#). Equipment should be shipped prepaid to GAI-Tronics with a return authorization number and a
purchase order number. If the equipment is under warranty, repairs or a replacement will be made in
accordance with the warranty policy set forth above. Please include a written explanation of all defects to
assist our technicians in their troubleshooting efforts.
