Quidway® NetEngine 20E Router Routing Process Unit
Overview
The routing process unit (RPU) is the main control board of an NE20E router. It consists of
PowerPC processor, system controller bridge, memory and other accessories. This board can be
used to control ports, manage equipment and process software protocols.
The RPU has two GE interfaces, each of which can provide electrical or optical interfaces. To use
the two GE interfaces at the same time, you need to select the same type of interface (electrical or
optical). The system identifies the interfaces according to the connection wire (cable or fibe r).
In addition, the RPU provides one Console port, one AUX port and one 10/100 BASE-TX
debugging network port and reserves an interface for CompactFlash CARD.
