Quidway® AR 46 Router Enhanced Asynchronous Serial Port

Module

Overview

The major function of the AR46 router enhanced asynchronous serial port module, FIC-ASE, is to
transmit and process the asynchronous serial port data flow. The largest rate of each
asynchronous serial port reaches 115.2 Kbps. It can support terminal access service and
asynchronous private line. Moreover, the asynchronous serial port can serve as the
middle-/small-sized ISP dialup access server. It can interconnect 8 or 16 LANs through the
asynchronous dialup line.

At present, the AR46 router supports two kinds of enhanced asynchronous serial port modules:
8-port module and 16-port module.
