System requirements
To use the Voda fone Mobil e Wi-Fi R210 you nee d a device with W i-Fi cap ability.
The Vodafone Mobile Wi- Fi R210 creates a personal portable Wi-Fi zone which allows several Wi-Fi enabled devices (for example PCs, Apple® iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, or mobile gaming devices such as Nintendo® DSi, Android devices including the Samsung® Galaxy Tab) to share a secure mobile internet connection.
The dev ice is batter y, mains or USB powered, and this fl exibility allows the device to be positioned for best mobile coverage and then share this coverage between several devices via Wi-Fi.
Advanced confi guration using Wi-Fi
To perform advanced confi guration of the device browse to the web UI http://VodafoneMobile.wi or http://192.168.0.1 from a computer running Microsoft Windows Vista™ (SP2 recommended), or Windows recommended), a computer running Linux or an Apple Mac running Mac OS

Advanced confi guration for iPhone / iPad / iPod Touch / smartphone / tablet users
Apple device users should use the Safari browser to browse to the web UI http://VodafoneMobile.wi or http://192.168.0.1 , or download the Vodafone Mobile Wi-Fi Monitor app. Smar tphone and tablet user s can check the device status by downloading the Vodafone Mobile Wi-Fi Monitor app from the App Store in iTunes or the Android Market / G oogle Play. See Page 15 for sample app screenshots.

Tip:
To save powe r the display is dimmed afte r 10 seconds and swit ched off af ter a fur ther 5 secon ds.
The sc reen can be disp layed by brie fly touch ing the powe r on/off button.

Note:
When t he Wi-Fi i s set on it stays on and wil l go into s tand- by mode when not being used . In standby m ode the bat tery sh ould last a m inimum of 18 hou rs. To save power in bat tery mode s witch the device off.

Getting started: Step 1 of 2
To prepare the Vodafone Mobile Wi-F i R210, you need to 1. inser t your SIM (and MicroSD card if you are using one for fi le storage) before use.
Note: On ce setup is comp lete, when conne cted to the R210 via Wi -Fi (and yo u have inst alled the so ftware onto your PC) you can acc ess the R210 configuration screen by clicking on the Mobile Wi- Fi desktop i con

You may want t o save these a ddresses a s favourites in your brows er so you can acces s the Mobile W i-Fi web UI application screen easily.

The dev ice is now ready to use - plug it into the mains or your 2. PC. The battery will be charged in the background. Make sure the device is fully charged (approximately 3 hours) before using it in battery mode.

Switch on the dev ice by pressing and holding the power 3. button for 3 seconds. The device will go through its star t-up sequence, and will automatically connect to the network unless a PIN code is required. Check the display for connection status.
Use the normal W i-Fi application on your computer or device 4. to connect. Select the Mobile Wi-Fi net work (SSID) from the list of available Wi-Fi networ ks, click Connect and enter the WPA2 password (secure Wi-Fi net work key). The SSID and Wi-Fi key are printed on the back of the R210 device, and are also on the Reminder Card.

Tip:
A doubl e tap of the power k ey will show the cur rent Wi- Fi network name and Wi- Fi netwo rk key on the de vice displ ay.
The Voda fone Mobil e Wi-Fi R210 will automatically conne ct to the Mobi le Broa dband net work whe n it is pow ered on .
If required, this defau lt automati c network connection can be ch anged to a manual connection via th e web UI of the device.

Congratulations – you now have internet access via Vodafone Mobile Wi-Fi.
When you are connected to the Vodafone Mobile Wi- Fi 5. R210 via Wi-Fi, you can access the Vodafone Mobile Wi-Fi confi guration screen by clicking on the Mobile Wi -Fi desktop
(if you have installed via USB), or by typing either

browser. You can change settings and check the device and network status from this browser page.
