Quidway® NetEngine 80 Core Router
GE Optical Interface Board
The GE optical interface board of the Quidway® NetEngine 80 core router (abbreviated to NE80) consists of the PIC Gigabit Ethernet (GE) interface and the Line Processing Unit (LPU).
The LPU implements processing and encapsulation of link layer protocols, data flow classification and packet filtering, data forwarding and control packet processing. The PIC GE interface implements Gigabit Ethernet MAC layer processing functions and Physical Medium Dependent (PMD) sub-layer functions, and provides such functions as loopback and environment monitoring.
CR-E4GC
The GE optical interface board of the NE80 is mainly applied in Ethernet interconnection, reaching a rate up to 1000 Mbps. Different GBIC modules can be chosen for different transmission distances.

Currently, the NE80 provides one type of Gigabit Ethernet optical interface board: CR-E4GC.
