Overview
The OC-3/STM-1 CPOS optical interface board of the Quidway® NetEngine 80 core router
(abbreviated to NE80) consists of the PIC OC-3/STM-1 CPOS optical interface and the Line
Processing Unit (LPU).
The LPU implements processing and encapsulation of link layer protocols, data flow classification
and packet filtering, data forwarding and control packet processing. The OC-3/STM-1 CP OS optical
interface mainly implements POS frame encapsulation/decapsulation of data flows and
SDH/SONET mapping/demapping of POS frames, provides 155Mbps channelized to E1/T1 optical
interfaces, and enables such functions as loopback and environment monitoring.
CR-C4CF
The OC-3/STM-1 CPOS optical interface board can be channelized to E1/T1, and can also support
multi-E1/T1 bundling. A single CPOS interface can channelize 63 E1 lines or 84 T1 lines. It is
usually used to access the SDH transmission network and implement SDH TM equipment
functions.
The OC-3/STM-1 CPOS optical interface board uses hot-pluggable SFP optical modules. You can
choose optical modules with different transmission distances according to networking
requirements.

Specifications
The NE80 supports two types of OC-3/STM-1 CPOS optical interface boards: CR-C2CF and
CR-C4CF.
