ELECTRICAL SAFETY
GENERAL SAFETY
To reduce the risk of electric shock, use a
suitable RCD (Residual Current-Operated Device)
available from your local HSS Hire Shop. Alternatively
power the equipment from a mains circuit with a built
in RCD.
Ensure the equipment and power socket are
switched OFF before plugging into the power
supply.
Fit the collection bag to the rear underside of the unit
(see illustration), to catch the waste. Insert the front of the
bags frame over the hook on the main body then raise
the rear of the frame and clip in position.
To remove simply press the catch and unclip.
Flymo Model…
To use the machine as a vacuum, turn the air flow
dial fully clockwise.
If using the machine as a blower, turn the air flow
dial fully anti-clockwise.
There is an intermediate dial position with vacuum,
when selected a small amount of air is sent forward, to
allow you to loosen wet leaves which may have
adhered to the ground.
Bosch Model…
To use the machine as a vacuum, turn the air flow
lever fully forward (position 1).
If using the machine as a blower, turn the air flow
lever fully backward (position 4).
There are intermediate lever positions with vacuum,
when position 2 is selected a small amount of air is sent
forward, to allow you to loosen wet leaves which
may have adhered to the ground.
In position 3 the blowing force is at maximum.
All that remains is to plug the machine into its
power supply and switch the supply ON.
GETTING STARTED
To start the machine, either squeeze the ON/OFF
trigger or slide the ON/OFF switch forward.
If blowing, think carefully about the direction of
the air flow. The fan is powerful enough to move quite
heavy objects and send them hurtling towards windows,
people and other susceptible items. Keep bystanders
at least 3 metres away.
If vacuuming, check the collection bag and empty
regularly. To do this, switch the machine OFF then
remove the bag as described in getting started. Tip
the contents into a suitable container and refit
before continuing.
