Installation Plan:

The sensor and tamper plate will be mounted to the door frame, close to
the gap, without door interference. If the tamper plate is not installed, the
sensor will only display a tamper state. For proper operation, the tamper
plate must be mounted using the screws provided taking care to ensure
that the magnet aligns with engraved target on the rear face of the
sensor. The actuator will be mounted directly below the sensor. Be sure
to aim the engraved targets at each other once fully installed. The sensor
and actuator can be mounted on an inward or outward swinging door.

For steel mounting surfaces, mount the sensor and actuator at the edge
of the mounting surface or slightly overhanging the edge of the mounting
surface. This is particularly important when the air gap between the
sensor and actuator is small. False tamper indications may occur if this
is not done.

The operating gap must not be greater than 3/16”.

HSI Engineers welcome the opportunity to provide technical assistance
on Sentinel products. However, suitability of the product in the
application is the customer’s responsibility. Compliance to regional
electrical codes and regulations is also the customer’s responsibility.

Introduction

Sentinel Retro is a smart and tamper-proof high-security sensor. From
its industrial grade aluminum body to its adaptive digital processing,
Sentinel’s intelligent design ensures security across a wide range of
applications.

Sentinel is intended to be connected to a UL Listed compatible control
panel.

Sentinel is UL634 Level 2 Certified.

HSI SENSING CONDITIONS OF SALE

1. PRICES-All pri ces are based o n anticipated c ontinuous prod uction and shipm ent as
scheduled. Cha nges in the shipm ent schedule mad e by Buyer will r esult in products b eing
invoiced at the price in eff ect at the time of shipment. Pri ces are for products of th e design and
material list ed in the specifications.

2. TERMS OF PAYME NT-All orders ar e subject to appr oval of the cr edit departmen t and
full or partial payment may be require d in advance. All invoic es are due within thirty (3 0) days
of shipping date. Pay ments are to be in U.S. dol lars and made to HSI Sensi ng, 3100 Norge
Road, Chickas ha, OK 73018.

3. PAST DUE PAYME NTS-Unpaid inv oices are past due and in default when n ot paid as
provided in par agraph 2. A late charg e of the less of 1-1/2% per month or the maximum allow ed
interest will be imposed on pas t due amounts. When any invoice becomes sixty (60) days old,
legal or other a ppropriate acti on will be taken t o collect the entir e account balanc e. The
customer agrees company will indemnify HSI Sensing for all ex penses incurred in con nection
with collection of p ast due amounts.

4. TAXES-Sales are consid ered to be taxa ble, unless oth erwise specific ally exempt. Tax
will be added to all invoices unless an Ex emption Certificate, acc eptable to the appropriate tax
authority, is i n the possession of HSI S ensing, prior to delivery . Purchaser shall reimbur se HSI
Sensing, prior to delivery. Purch aser shall reimbur se HSI Sensing, f or any sales, us e
occupation, ex cise or similar tax that may be impose d upon HSI Sensing , for any reason, ar ising
out of or in co nnection with its sales t o Purchaser.

5. CANCELLATION-N o order may be cancell ed except upon written agr eement with HSI
Sensing, and upon p ayment by Purchaser of all costs ari sing in connection with t he order.

6. FREIGHT-Prici ng for this order is FOB Chickas ha, Oklahoma. S hipping charges will be
prepaid by ship per and charged to Purch aser’s invoice.

7. MATERIAL DAMAGE D IN TRANSIT-Purc haser shall insp ect shipments u pon receipt
from common carr iers and in the event of damage or loss shall prom ptly file a claim agains t the
carrier. If the cus tomer is in urg ent need of replacem ents for dama ged or lost materi al, he
should give HSI Sensing a new order marked as follows: “For r eplacement of m aterial damaged
in transit.” P urchaser shal l pay the invoi ce for such r eplacements and request a d uplicate
receipt to faci litate filing the claim against the carrier.

8. RETURN OF NEW MATE RIAL-No materi al shall be retur ned without writte n
authorization and shipping ins tructions fir st having been obtained from HSI Sensing.
Permission to r eturn an item is in the sole disc retion of HSI S ensing and may be exercised
arbitrarily. A ny item for which permission i s granted to return the item mus t be returned freight
prepaid and wil l be subject to a 20% re-stoc king charge, $50 minimum. T he return ticket must
show the invoi ce number and date on w hich each item was purchas ed.

MATERIAL RETURNE D WITHOUT WRITTEN A UTHORIZATION WILL NO T BE

ACCEPTED.

9. LIMITED WARRANTY AND LIABILITY-HSI Sensing ( “HSI”) hereby expressly w arrants
its products t o be free from defects in material and w orkmanship under norm al use for a period
of 30 days fr om the date of sale t o Purchaser. This war ranty extends to the original Purchaser
only. This limited warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, unr easonable use or
modifications .
HSI’s sole o bligation under t his limited warra nty and the purc haser’s exclusi ve remedy is lim ited
to the repair or replacement, without charge , FOB shipping point of any defective produc ts or
parts of prod ucts (excludin g any labor or installation) which HSI, aft er inspection, has
determined to be defec tive; provided that (1) Purchas er immediately notifies HSI in wri ting upon
the discovery o f any claimed defect and ( 2) the product is retur ned, freight prepaid t o HSI, FOB
shipping point. Purchaser must contact HSI wi thin the warran ty period to obtai n warranty
service and pr ovide documentati on of the inst allation and use of the product i n strict complianc e
with HSI’s recomm ended practices and guideli nes. HSI is not responsible for costs incurred in
repairing or repl acing defective products witho ut HSI warranty service authorizat ion.
HSI EXCLUDES LIABI LITY, WHETHER BAS ED ON CONTRACT OR TORT ( INCLUDING
NEGLIGENCE), FO R ANY DAMAGE TO PURCHA SER’S OR OTHER END USER’S
EQUIPMENT OR ANY PU NITIVE, SPECIAL, IN DIRECT, INCIDENTA L OR
CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND OR FOR LOSS OF REVENUE OR PROFITS,
LOSS OF BUSINESS OR OTHER FINCANCIAL L OSS ARISING OUT OF O R IN
CONNECTION WITH THE SALE, INSTALLATION, MAINT ENANCE, USE, PERFORMANCE,
OR FAILURE OF THE PRODUCTS, EVEN IF HSI HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE
POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THIS DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY SHALL NOT BE
AFFECTED EVEN IF ANY REMEDY PROVIDED HEREIN FAILS ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.
Purchaser shall indemnify and hold HSI harmless from an d against all claims of loss or damage
other than th e cost of repai r or replaceme nt of its products or parts of products, as describe d
above. Purchas er acknowledges and agrees that t he above warranty is in additi on to and not
in replacement of any warranty provided by the original manufacturer of any components used

by HSI in ma nufacturing the prod ucts sold to Purc haser. HSI assumes no liability for w arranties
granted by the original manufacturer.
HSI MAKES NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES OTHER THAN AS SPECIFICALLY
SET OUT IN THIS SECTION. EXCEPT FOR THE EXPRESS LIMITED WARRANTY SET
FORTH IN THIS SECTIO N, ALL PRODUCTS ARE SOLD “AS IS” “WITH A LL FAULTS” AND
THERE ARE NO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, COMPLIANCE WITH DESCRIPTION
AND NON-INFRINGMEN T IN CONNECTION WITH ANY SALE .
Purchaser ackn owledges and a grees that it mus t perform ade quate engineerin g and quality
control to assur e that the produc t is suitable for P urchaser’s appl ication. HSI sh all not be
responsible or liable to Purc haser, any third party or end user, or f or design assem bly or end
use of Purchaser ’s product. Upo n accepting th e product from HS I, Purchaser ass umes full
responsibility for use of and care of th e product.
No statement, a greement, repr esentation, prom ise or understanding, oral or written, made by
HSI or its ag ent, representati ve or employee, that is not cont ained in these ter ms and conditio ns
will be recognized or enforce able or bindin g upon HSI. PURCHASER AGREE S THERE ARE
NO UNDERSTANDINGS OR UNDERTAKING S OF ANY KIND W ITH RESPECT TO THE
PRODUCTS OR ANY PART THEREOF NOT EXPRESSLY SET FORTH AND CONTAINED
IN THESE TERMS AN D CONDITIONS.
If any provision of this Section is held to be illeg al or unenforceable by any court or competent
jurisdiction, t he remaining provisions s hall remain eff ective. Some states or pr ovinces do not
allow the exc lusion or li mitation of im plied warranti es or the lim itation of inci dental or
consequential damages for cert ain products suppl ied to consumers or the limit ation of liabilit y
for personal i njury, so the limit ations and exclusions above may be limited i n their applications
to Purchaser. W hen the implied w arranties can not be excluded in their entirety , they will be
limited to the duration of the wr itten warranty. Thi s warranty gives P urchaser specifi c legal rights
that may vary d epending upon local law .
Any action f or breach of this the limited warranty contained in thi s Section must be commenced
within one (1) y ear after the product i s delivered to Purchas er.

10. PERFORMANCE -HSI Sensing wi ll not be respo nsible for any delay or fail ure in
performance ca used by circums tances beyond the reasonable c ontrol of HSI S ensing and
affecting them or ot hers, including b ut not limited to the following: ac ts of God, riots, embargoes,
strikes or other concerted acts of workmen, casualti es or accidents, d elays in transport ation,
shortage of pow er, fuel, labor or materi als.

11. PATENTS-Purchaser s hall hold HSI Sensing harml ess from and r elease and not make
claim or suit ag ainst HSI Sensi ng, Inc. becaus e of any suits, cl aims, losses or other liabili ty
made against or suffered by P urchaser arisi ng from any clai m of or infrin gement of pate nt
copyright, trademark or other proprietary r ight, at comm on law or clai m of unfair tr ade or of
unfair competi tion, resulting from or occasioned by Buyer ’s use, possession, s ale or delivery of
the merchandi se sold to Buyer by Seller .

12. PURCHASE ORDE R-If this quotation is accept ed and Purchaser’s order form is use d for
the purpose, it i s expressly agreed that the t erms and conditi ons set forth in this HSI Sensin g
Order Acknowle dgment Sale A greement shall prevail insofar as the same may in any way
conflict with th e terms and con ditions set fort h in Purchaser’ s order form or other Purch aser
documents. The i ssuance of such order by P urchaser shall be deeme d to denote Purchaser’s
assent to the foregoi ng.

13. CHOICE OF LAW-T his order shall be constr ued and interpreted acc ording to the law of the
State of Oklah oma, provided ho wever, that is a Government Pri me Contract num ber appears
on the face of this Ord er or if the face of this Order otherwis e indicates that this Order is pl aced
under a Governm ent Contract and the law of the State of Oklahoma is not dispositive, the
federal common l aw of government contract shall govern as said law i s enunciated and applie d
by federal judici al bodies, boards of contrac t appeals and quasi-judici al agencies of the federal
government.

Cutting Phillips Head Screws (#10-32 x 2”), 2 Sheet Metal Phillips Head Screws (#8-15
x 1”), 3 1/16” Spacer plates.
Provided by Installer: Power Drill, Phillips Head Drill Bit, Rule (or any linear measuring
instrument), a center punch & hammer for more accurate hole locations may be used, a
3/32” pilot drill bit, Additional 1/16” spacers (HSI P/N 245362).
