Electrical Supply
WARNING: This appliance must be earthed.
Fuses
Your appliance comes fitted with a plug and a 13A fuse. If you need to replace the fuse, only those rated at 13A and ASTA approved to BS1362 should be used. If you lose the fuse cover, a replacement may be obtained

from your local Hotpoint authorised Service Centre or Electricity company. Correct replacement is identified by colour coding or the marking on base of plug.
WARNING: Do not use plug unless fuse cover is fitted.
Changing the Plug
Cut off and dispose of the supplied plug if it does not fit your socket.
WARNING: To avoid a shock hazard do not insert the discarded plug into a socket anywhere else.
IMPORTANT: WIRES IN THE MAINS LEAD ARE COLOURED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING CODE: Green/Yellow - Earth Blue - Neutral Brown - Live
If you change the plug, the colour of wires in the mains lead may not correspond with the colour of the markings identifying terminals

in the plug. You should therefore wire it as shown (Fig 2).
Green and yellow (Earth) wire to terminal marked ‘E’, symbol , or coloured green and yellow.
Blue (Neutral) wire to terminal marked ‘N’ or coloured black.

Changing the Mains Lead
A special lead can be ordered from Hotpoint Service UK: 08709 066 066 or Republic of Ireland: 1850 302 200 If you have damaged the existing lead or require a longer one a charge will be made. It is strongly advised that this work is carried out by a qualified electrician.

Please dispose of packaging and old appliances carefully. To minimise risk of injury to children, remove the door, plug and cut mains cable off flush with the appliance. Dispose of separately to ensure that the appliance can no longer be plugged into a mains socket.

Installation
All Hotpoint fridges, freezers and combination fridge freezers are designed and built to European Standards.
Location & Air Circulation
Locate appliance away from sources of heat eg. Cookers, Radiators, Direct Sunlight as extreme temperature may affect it’s performance. Ensure the recommended minimum measurements are met to:-
Increase the life of the compressor.Reduce risk of condensation on the outside of the

Fitting an Appliance under a Work Top

WARNING: If there is less than 30mm clearance, a Vent must be fitted to provide adequate ventilation above your appliance.
If appliance is fitted with an Air Grille
Simply push appliance back until the air grille is nearly touching the wall (Fig 3).

1. Fit the two supplied wall spacers to the top of the condenser at the back of the appliance (Fig 4).

Adjusting the Feet
(Front Feet only)
The right foot screw is pre-set to the correct position. Stabilise by adjusting the left foot screw until all four feet are in firm contact with the floor (Fig 5).

Clean before Using
We recommend before using your appliance that you clean the interior and exterior (see page 10).

Switch on
WARNING: Ensure the mains cable is not trapped underneath or behind the appliance.
Let appliance stand upright in final position for at least 15 minutes. Insert plug into socket outlet and switch on electricity supply.
Running-in the Compressor
Your appliance is operated by a compressor, which maintains the appliances internal temperature. For the first few months the compressor has to work a little harder and may result in more noise than usual.
Whether the compressor is running or not, it is normal to hear sounds created by the liquid and gases sealed within the refrigeration system.
Table Top
This is designed to serve as an extra work surface, be careful with it. Do not drop or place heavy objects on it, sit or stand on it.
WARNING: Hotpoint recommend that you do not stack any appliance with your Fridge, Freezer or combination Fridge Freezer.
Decor Panels
NOTE: For Models with flat door fronts only.
Co-ordinate your kitchen by fitting a matching decor panel to your appliance. A Trim Kit is available from Hotpoint Genuine Parts & Accessories Mail Order Hotline UK: 08709 077 077 or Republic of Ireland: (01) 842 6836 which attaches to the edges of the appliance door enabling a maximum 4mm thick decor panel to be fitted.
Positioning a Fridge next to a Freezer
Free standing:
Leave a 50mm gap between the two appliances to avoid a build up of condensation. Ensure both appliances are standing firm and level.
Linking:
Join your Hotpoint larder fridge and freezer together to look like one unit by using a Linking Kit, complete with wheels available from Hotpoint Genuine
