Installation of Hotchki s Fro n t Swa y Ba r

Raise front of the vehicle by using a 4 post lift or drive-on ramps. Securely block the rear wheels of the vehicle. Do not remove the front wheels during installation fo r safet y.

Remove Front Splash Shield
Remove front lower splash shield and note the orientation of the sway bar.
3F Remove end link nuts that attach to the sway bar and push end links aside.

Disconnect End Links
Disconnect Bush i ng Brackets
Remove the sway bar bushing brackets.
5f Lower the sway bar down and shift it to the driver side of the car. Lift the sway bar as high as

possible on driver side, and rota te the passenger side of bar away from th e tie rod. Now you can completely remove the sway bar fr om the car.

Install Hotchkis Front Sway Bar
Install the new sway bar i n the exact reverse order as removal. Ma ke sure to lube the new urethane bushings with the supplied g r ease. Use the included Hotchkis bushing bracket. It is slightly more difficult to install the Hotchkis bar due to the larger diameter. If you are unable to find the “sweet spot” to rotate the new sway bar into location, you can jack up the car, remove the wheels, disconnect the t i e rods and the bar will fall right in. Use the supplied
blue lock-tight on the end-link nuts. Make sure to fully tighten the end link nuts.

8F Make sure to double check all fasteners.
Reinstall Splash Guard
Install splash guard and your done with the front.
Double-Check for Tightness

95% Stiffer than Stock

Installation of Hotchkis Rear Sway Bar

Raising Car
Raise the vehicle and support with jack stands. Remove the rear wheels.

Remove Chassis Brace
Locate and remove the chassis brace from under the vehicle. There are 6 bolts holding the front section of the brace and 2 bolts (one on each side) holding the rear.

Disconnect Exhaust Hangers
Locate and disconnect the rear rubber exhaust hangers.

Disconnect End Links
Locate and disconnect the end-links from the sway bar.

Disconnect Upper Control Arm
Disconnect the ABS sensor wire from t he upper control arm. Remove the bolt that att aches t he upper control arm to the knuckle, and r otate the control arm up and out of the way.

Disconnect Lower Shock Mount
Support the lower control arms w ith jacks. Loosen the side bolts and remove the nut that attaches the lower shock mount to the lower control arm. Slowly lower and r emove the jacks from supporting the lower control arm s.

Drop the Rear Subframe
Place a jack under the differential to support the sub-frame. There are 4 main b olts that hold the subframe to the chassis (2 front & 2 rear). There are also 4 smaller bolts (2 on each side) that connect the front mounts to the chassis. R emove these smaller bolts. Locate and remove the rear sub -frame bolts. Next locate the front sub-frame bolts and loosen about halfway, but DO NOT remove them all of the way.
Carefully lower the sub-frame down with the jack until you can access the sway bar bushing brackets. Be careful not to lower the sub-frame too much, or damage to the brake lines will occur.

10R Grease the new urethane bushings with the supplied grease, and install with the new brackets
Disconnect Bushing Brackets & Remove Stock Bar
Remove the sway bar brackets and bushings, and pull the sway bar out from the Drivers side of the vehicle. The bushing brackets may be stuck onto the bushings, so you may need to spray WD-40 and have a little patience getting them off.
Install Hotchkis Rear Sway Bar
Install the new sway bar in the sam e manner it was removed.
Install Hotchkis Bushing Brackets
onto the sway bar. Make sure to use the supplied flat cut washers with the factory bolts, and install with blue lock-tight.

Finish Installation in Reverse Order
Finish the installation in t h e reverse order that ev erything was removed. Make sure to use blue lock-tight on the end-link nuts.

Double Check Hardw a re
Make sure all hardware is fully tightened before driving the vehicle. You are done with the
installation. The vehicle does not r eq ui r e an alignment after this installatio n.

original purchase date. IMPORTANT: This warranty supersedes all other warranties included with this product.

We want you to be completely satisfied with your Hotchkis Performance product. For products, presenting signs of shipping damage please contact the freight carrier immediately. All our products are guaranteed to be free from manufacturer’s def ec ts . If your or der arr ives wit h a manufacture defec t, pl eas e contact our Customer Service Department at (562) 907-7757. You will be ass igned a R eturned Goods Authorizat ion Num ber (RGA). The pack age you return m ust show the RGA on the out side of the package, include the original invoic e and be shipped prepaid to our facility. The product has to be unused and in its original packaging materials. Exchanges or refunds made after 30 days will be subject to a 20% restocking charge. If you purchased your Hotchkis Performance product from an authorized
dealer, you are still covered by this return policy. All returns however, should be made to your dealer, not to Hotchkis Performance directly.
Limited Warranty
Hotchkis Performance offers a Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for the term of 36 months (3 years) from the date of purchase of this product. This Warranty only applies to the original retail purchaser who retains ownership of the vehicle on which the pr od uc t was originally installed. If the product is determined to be defective, Hotchkis Performance will repair, replace or refund the purchase price of the defective product at Hotchkis Performance's sole discretion, which shall fully satisfy and discharge any and all warranty claims. Any repaired or replaced product will be returned to the sender excluding the cost of freight.

Exclusions from Warranty
Items offered but not manuf actured by Hotchkis Performanc e are warranted according to the manufac turer's terms and are not covered by this limited warranty. Hotchkis Performance shall not be responsible for any labor, removal, installation, re-installation or maintenance costs. This warranty does not cover the cosmetic finish or plating of any product or any normal wea r and tear to any product in cluding, but not limited to b ushings, brack ets, end-links, hardw are, steering components, shocks or springs. In addition, this warranty does not apply to any products that have been:
Improperly installed or installed by someone other than a qualified, licensed auto m echanic exp erie nc ed in th e
installation and removal of suspension products;

Improperly serviced, misused, or modified, altered or subjected to abuse, negligence, accident or collision; Installed in any vehicle that has been modified; Installed on any vehicle that has carried loads in excess of automobile manufacturer suggested weight limits; or Installed on any vehicle that has been subject to abnormal or excessive use, including rallying, racing, or racing-type

activities or off-road use.
Limitation of Warranty
This limited warranty is the entire and only warranty for the products and may not be modified or supplem ented by any other person or company in any form. Any description of the products, by anyone, is for the sole purpose of identifying them and is not part of the basis of the bargain , and d oes not constitute a warran ty that the pr oducts will conform to that description. The statem ents of any salesperso n do not constitute part of this limited warrant y and cannot be relied upon as a warranty.
