Adjustable Rear Sway Bar Kit
Rear Bar Installation
1. Take note of the current stock sway bar installation.
2. Drive onto a 4-post lift or alignment rack. You may also drive the rear of the
vehicle onto floor ramps if a lift isn’t available. Installation of this kit is easier if
the weight of the car is on it’s wheels
3. Remove the stock sway bar endlinks.
4. Remove the four bolts holding the sway bar to the axle U-Bolts.
5. Remove the factory sway bar and U-bolts from the vehicle.

6. Using the included white silicone grease, lube the inside of the urethane
15/16” sway bar bushings. (The silicone grease can be cleaned up with
WD40.)
7. Install the urethane bushings on the bar. Place the bushing’s bracket over top
the bushing.
8. Attach the swaybar to the axle using the new Hotchkis U-bolts and brackets.
Note: The new brackets may have only one side of the bracket engaged on
the axle tab. Do not fully tighten the axle U-bolts at this point.

9. Insert the new end links through the frame bracket and install the
bushing/washer/nut on the top finger-tight. The end link length is adjustable.
Adjust the length of the end link by spinning the ball joint in or out on the
threaded rod. Adjust the length until the rod shows approximately 12 threads
from the jam nut to the stop. This is a good initial length to start off with.
Fully tighten the jam nut.

The bar has 3 stiffness holes on each side. The hole closest to the end is the
softest setting. Choose a setting based on your handling needs. Insert the
ball joint stud into the sway bar end hole. Secure the ball joint end using the
supplied washer and nylock nut. Fully tighten this nut.
Next, fully tighten the nut on top of the end link completely

10. The bushing brackets attached to the axle tubes have slots and the fore/aft
position can be adjusted slightly. Adjust the position so that the end link is
as upright as possible. For example, if you have the end links attached to
the softest setting (closest to the end), you’ll want to shift the bushing
brackets towards the rear of the vehicle as much as possible. Once you are
in position, tighten the U-bolts completely.
11. Double check that all fasteners are tightened.
Your installation is finished. Enjoy your new sway bars!

or refunds made after 30 days will be subject to a 20% restoc king charge. If you purchased
your Hotchkis Performance product from an authorized dealer, you are still covered by
this return policy. All returns however, should be made to your dealer, not to Hotchkis
Performance directly.
Limited Warranty
Hotchkis Performance offers a Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship
for the term of 36 months (3 years) from the date of purchase of this product. This Warranty only
applies to the original retail purchas er who retains ownership of the vehicle on which the product
was originally installed. If the product is determined to be defective, Hotchkis Performance will
repair, replace or refund the purchase price of the defective product at Hotchkis Performance's
sole discretion, which shall fully satisfy and discharge any and all warranty claims. Any repaired
or replaced product will be returned to the sender excluding the cost of freight.

warranty does not co ver t h e c osmetic finish or plat in g of an y prod uc t or any normal wear and tear
to any product including, but not limited to bushings, brackets, end-links, hardware, steering
components, shocks or springs. In addition, this warranty does not appl y to any products that
have been:
Improperly installed o r installed by someone o ther than a qualified, lice nsed auto mechanic
experienced in the installation and removal of suspensio n products;
Improperly serviced, misused, or modified, altered or subjected to abuse, negligence, accident or
collision;
Installed in any vehicle that has been modified;
Installed on any vehicle t hat has carried loads in excess of automobile manufacturer suggested
weight limits; or
Installed on any vehicle t hat has been subject to abnormal or excessive use, including rallying ,
racing, or racing-type activities or off-road use.
