Front Lower Control Arm Bush ings

Before You Start
Please read the entire manual before starting.
1. Raise Vehicle
Raise the vehicle and put it up on jack stands. You may al so use a 2-post or 4­post lift.

2. Remove Stock Lower Control Arms
a) Remove the front wheels b) Relieve the tension in the torsion bar by loosening the adjuster bolt
underneath the lower control arm.
c) Loosen and remove the nut connecting the strut rod to the lower control
arm.

d) Undo the Lower Shock Mount Bolt to detach the shock from the Lower
Control Arm
e) Remove the lower ball joint/steering arm from the spindle. There are 2
castle nuts that hold it in place.

f) Disconnect the front sway bar end links, if equipped.
g) Remove the snap ring and detach the Torsion Bar from the Lower Control
Arm.

h) Loosen and Remove the inner pivot nut for the lower control arm. The
lower control arm should be able to slide out of the k-frame.

3. Remove Stock Rubber Bushing
The stock rubber bushing has an outer & inner sleeve. You will need to re-use both sleeves when using the Hotchkis bushing. The new bushing will replace the rubber portion of the joint only. Remove the rubber by using a torch to burn the rubber off while you scrape it out. Be careful not to damage the outer or inner sleeve. The outer sleeve is pressed into the lower control arm body while the inner sleeve slips over the stud pin. It is common to have the inner sl eeve frozen onto the pin. It’s ok if it is. Make sure the sleeves are clean before proceeding.
4. Install New Bushing
Apply the supplied silicone grease onto the inner and outer surfaces of the Hotchkis Polyurethane bushing. It’s a good idea to also grease the outer and inner sleeve surfaces.

Insert the bushing into the outer sleeve by itself. Then insert the pin and inner sleeve into the bushing. The assembly is now complete.

5. Re-Install the Lower Control Arm Assembly
Re-install the low er control arm assembly in the same manner as removal. It is recommended that you get a front wheel alignment after this installation.

www.hotchkis.net or via t he mail-in warranty card, included with the product, within 30 days of
the original purchase date. IMPORTANT: This warranty supersedes all other warranties included with this product.

All our pr oducts are guaranteed to be free from manufacturer’s defects. If your order arrives with a manufacture defect, please contact our Customer Service Department at ( 562) 907-7757. You will be ass igned a Returned Goods Authorizati on Number (RGA). The package you ret urn must show t he RGA on the outside of the package, includ e the original invoice a nd be shipped prepaid to our fac ility. The product has t o be unused and in its original pack aging m aterials. Exchanges or refunds made after 30 days will be subject to a 20% restoc king charge. If you purchased your Hotchkis
Performance product from an authorized dealer, you are still covered by this return policy. All returns however, should be made to your dealer, not to Hotchkis Performance directly.
Limited Warranty
Hotchkis Performance offers a Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for the term of 36 months (3 years) from the date of purchase of this product. This Warranty only applies to the original retail purchaser who retains ownership of the vehicle on which the produc t w as originally installed. If the product is determined to be defective, Hotchkis Performance will repair, replace or refund the purchase price of the defective product at Hotchkis Performance's sole discretion, which shall fully satisfy and discharge any and all warranty claims. Any repaired or replaced product will be returned to the sender excluding the cost of freight.

Exclusions from Warranty
Items offered but not manufactured by Hotchkis Performance are warranted according to the manufacturer's terms and are not covered by this lim ited warranty. Hotchk is Performanc e shall not be responsible for any labor, removal, installation, re-installation or maintenance costs. This warranty does not c over the cosmetic finish or plating of any product or any norm al wear and tear to any pr oduct inc lud ing, but not lim ited to bus hings , brack ets, end-links, hardware, steer ing components, shocks or springs. In ad dition, this warranty does not apply to any products that have been:
Improperly installed or installed by someone other than a qualified, licensed auto mechanic experienced in the installation and removal of suspension products;
Improperly serviced, misused, or modified, altered or subjected to abuse, negligence, accident or collision;
Installed in any vehicle that has been modified;
Installed on any vehicle that has carried loads in excess of automobile manufacturer suggested weight limits; or
Installed on any vehicle that has been subject to abnormal or excessive use, includ ing rallying, racing, or racing-type activities or off-road use.
Limitation of Warranty
This limited warranty is the entire a nd on ly warranty for the products and may not be modified or supplem ented b y any other person or company in an y form. Any description of the produc ts, by anyone, is for the sole purpose of identifying them and is not part of the basis of the bargain, and d oes not constitute a warranty that the products will co nform to that des cription. The sta tements of an y salespers on do not constit ute part of this limited warr anty and cannot be relied upon as a warranty.
