Removal of Stock Upper Trailing Arms and Differential Bushings
1) Place vehicle onto level surface. Place blocks in front of front tires.
2) Support rear of car on jack stands and remove rear wheels.
3) Place floor jack under differential and lift-up slightly taking the tension away
from trailing arm bolts - be sure not to lift vehicle off of jack stands.
4) Remove both lower shock bolts.
5) Lower rear axle with floor jack, being careful not to stretch rear brake lines.
5) Remove rear coil springs.
** KEEP FLOOR JACK UNDER DIFFERENTIAL DURING THE
COMPLETE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
6) Start with either trailing arm and remove the rear bolt.
7) Then remove the front trailing arm bolt.
8) Repeat procedure for opposite side.
9) Remove upper stock rubber bushing and shell from axle housing.

Installation of Hotchkis Performance Upper Trailing
Arms
1) Remove supplied polyurethane bushing from outer shell.
2) Install new shell into axle housing. (Do not hammer on shell - use wood or steel.
Do not press the driver’s side all the way in! The thrust washer may have to be
trimmed and installed before( the bushing shell is pressed in all the way.
see figure on reverse side )
3) Lubricate polyurethane with supplied grease.
4) Slip bushing into shell already in axle housing.
5) Lubricate inner sleeve and install into bushing.
6) Lubricate and install thrust washers by slipping them over axle housing
bushing.
7) Lubricate faces of bushings in trailing arm, then install new trailing arm by
locating front bolt first.( If you purchased trailing arm braces as well see
instructions now)
8) Place one drop of blue Loctite on threads and torque nut to 70 ft. lbs.
(not needed with H. P. hardware)
9) Trailing arm should then pivot smoothly.
10) Install rear axle housing bolt.
11) When Installing the rear upper trailing arm bolts you may want to move the
rear up or down with the jack for easy alignment of the bolt holes.
12) Place one drop of blue Loctite on threads and torque nut to 70 ft. lbs.
13) Repeat procedure for other side.
14) Install coil springs, then install all shock bolts.
CHECK ALL NUT AND BOLT TIGHTNESS AFTER FIRST TEN MILES

products are guaranteed to be free from manufacturer’s defects. If your order arrives with a

to our facility. The product has to be unused and in it s original pack aging materials. Exc hanges
or refunds made after 30 days will be subject to a 20% restock ing charge. If you purchased
your Hotchkis Performance product from an authorized dealer, you are still covered by
this return policy. All returns however, should be made to your dealer, not to Hotchkis
Performance directly.
Limited Warranty
Hotchkis Performance offers a Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship
for the term of 36 months (3 years) from the date of purchase of this product. This Warranty only
applies to the original retail pur chas er who retains ownership of the vehicle on which the product
was originally installed. If the product is determined to be defective, Hotchkis Performance will
repair, replace or refund the purchase price of the defective product at Hotchkis Performance's
sole discretion, which shall fully satisfy and discharge any and all warranty claims. Any repaired
or replaced product will be returned to the sender excluding the cost of freight.

Exclusions from Warranty
Items offered but not manufactured by Hotchkis Performance are warranted according to the
manufacturer's terms and are not covered by this limited warranty. Hotchkis Perf ormance shall
not be responsible for any labor, rem oval, installation, r e-installation or m aintenance cos ts. This
warranty does not co ver t h e c osmetic finish or p lat in g of an y prod uc t or any normal wear and tear
to any product including, but not limited to bushings, brackets, end-links, hardware, steering
components, shocks or springs. In addition, this warranty does not appl y to any products that
have been:
Improperly installed or installed by someone other than a qualified, licensed auto
mechanic experienced in the installation and removal of suspension products;
Improperly serviced, misused, or modified, altered or subjected to abuse, negli g ence,
accident or collision;
Installed in any vehicle that has been mod ified;
Installed on any vehicle that has carried loads in excess of automobile manufacturer
suggested weight limits; or
Installed on any vehicle that has been subject to abnormal or excessive use, including
rallying, racing, or racing-type activities or off-road use.
