1 Overview
This is a preliminary draft for the Hop-On Handheld Phone User’s Guide. The manual describes how to use the Hop-On Handheld phone, which consists of LCD readout, the microphone, the speaker, and the keypad with seventeen buttons (keys):
Left Soft Key
Right Soft Key
Four-Way Scroll Key
TALK (SEND) Key
END Key, and
12 Numeral Keys.
The handset is a full-function phone, which can make a call, receive a call, and provide other common functions invoked from the menu system. The layout is shown in Figure 1.

2 Basic Operations
The section describes basic operations of the phone. Additional operations are provided in subsequent sections.
Unless specified otherwise, all instruction steps begin with the phone in Idle State, where the phone is powered on and ready.
Turn On The Phone
Press and momentarily hold the END Key.
When the phone is off, this action will turn on the phone; when it is on, the action turns off the phone.
Place A Call
Turn on the phone and make sure there is a service;
Dial a number to call;
Press TALK Key.

Receive A Call
When the phone rings, buzzes, or vibrates, which indicates that a call is incoming,
Press TALK Key.

End A Call
Press END Key.

Adjust Speaker Volume
The speaker volume can be adjusted in two ways: During conversation:
Press the Up/Down arrows on the Four-Way Scroll Key to tune the speaker volume high/low.

Using the menu:
Press Left Soft Key (Menu), to go to Main Menu.
Move Cursor to select Settings, and then press Left Soft Key (Select).
Move Cursor to select Phone Settings; press Left Soft Key (Select).
Move Cursor to select Speaker Volume; press Left Soft Key (Select).
Press Up/Down arrows in the Four-Way Scroll Key to adjust the volume.

Adjust Ringer Volume
The ringer volume can be adjusted in two ways: During the phone ring (indicating an incoming call):
Press the Up/Down arrows on the Four-Way Scroll Key to tune the volume high/low.
Using the menu:
Press Left Soft Key (Menu), to go to Main Menu.
Move Cursor to select Settings, and then press Left Soft Key (Select).
Make sure Cursor point to Phone Settings; press Left Soft Key (Select).
Move Cursor to select Ringer Volume; press Left Soft Key (Select).
Press Up/Down arrows in the Four-Way Scroll Key to adjust the volume.
Last Number Redial
To redial the last number:
Press and hold the SEND Key.
