USING THE ‘QUIK-BROOM’ How to operate
Plug into electric outlet. Your cleaner
is now ready to operate.
To turn cleaner on, flip switch on top of the outer bag assembly to the
“ON” position. To turn cleaner off,
flip switch to the “OFF” position.
Operate cleaner only at voltage specified on data plate adjacent to handle.
Turn the cleaner on and tilt handle forward until the back of the nozzle
is free from the carpet. This insures
that the throw away bag is inflated.
Rug and floor nozzle
The combination rug and floor nozzle
has been designed to do an effective
job on both carpet and hard surface
floors.
Full width cleaning
To vacuum carpet and hard surface floors, set the Nozzle Adjustment
Dial on “FULL WIDTH CLEANING”. For easier cleaning when picking up large particles of soil, rotate cleaner to lift the nozzle slightly up,off the floor.
Should nozzle become clogged or Nozzle Adjustment Dial hard to turn, move dial pointer to side position for easy lift out to clear area.
You will find it convenient to use only
one hand when operating the cleaner
on rugs and carpets.
4
Edge cleaning feature
This feature provides for cleaning of carpet edges near baseboards and sol-
id furniture. Slots on the nozzle bottom plate carry dust from the carpet edge to the nozzle.
Set the Nozzle Adjustment Dial on
“EDGE CLEAN” to the right or left
for right or left edge cleaning.
Two speed feature
The black switch on the top of the
outer bag assembly controls the
speed of the cleaner. Choose the
“H I GH” or “LOW” setting depend-
ing on amount suction needed for various cleaning tasks. Use “HIGH” for general carpet and floor cleaning.
Use “LOW” for lighter cleaning and above floor cleaning.
Cleaning under low furniture
Your ‘Quik-Broom’ cleaner has been designed to do an effective job cleaning under low furniture and in hard to reach areas. Lower the handle to floor level and proceed with a back and forth motion.
Storing the ‘Quik-Broom’
When cleaner is not in use, wrap cord around the two cord clips as shown
in illustration. To save valuable storage space in your
home, hand the ‘Quik-Broom’ cleaner
on a hook. There is an opening

of the handle for this

MAINTENANCE
The following sections are concerned with proper maintenance of your cleaner. Familiarize yourself with these home maintenance tasks and keep this owner’s manual in a convenient place where you can refer to it when
needed. Proper use and care of your cleaner will insure continued cleaning effectiveness.
The Bag
Check the bag from time to time. If the bag is nearly full OR if the cleaner is not picking up, change the bag. The cleaner will not operate effectively if the bag is completely full. Discard used bag. Caution: Very fine materials, such as face powder, cornstarch, fireplace ashes or fireplace soot, may seal the throw-away bag and may cause it to burst even though it is only partially full of dirt. When the cleaner is used to remove material of this nature, the bag should be changed frequently.
What bag to buy
Use only HOOVER Type E bags. Geniune HOOVER bags are made of specially designed paper for most effective results with your ‘Quik-Broom’. They are less likely to break or clog.
Where to buy bags
Bags may be purchased from your local Authorized Hoover Dealer, or from Hoover Factory Service Centers listed on
the white insert.
For top efficiency, use only genuine HOOVER throw away
bags. HOOVER bags can be identified by the trademarks. -
