• Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp
edges or corners. Do not run applianc e over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.
• Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.
• Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
• Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair,
and anything that may re duce air flow.
• Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all par ts of body away from openings and moving parts. Brush

• Turn off all controls before unplugging.
• Use extra care when cleaning on stairs. To avoid personal injur y or damage, and to prevent the
cleaner from f alling, always place cleaner at bottom of st airs or on floor. Do not place cleaner on
stairs or furniture, as it may result in injury or damage.
• Do not use to pick up f lammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or fine wood sandings, or
use in are as where they may be present.
• Unplug before c onnecting Turbo Tool.
• Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.
• Do not use without separator, filters, or dir t cup in place.
CAUTION:
• Avoid picking up hard, sharp objects with this product, as they may cause damage.
• Store appropriately indoors in a dry place. Do not exp ose machine to freezing temperatures.
• Brush r oll continues to turn w hile product is t urned on and handle is in upr ight position . To avoid
damage to carpet, rugs, and f looring, avoid tipping cleaner or setting it on furniture, fringed area
rugs, or carpeted stairs during tool use.
• Do not use sharp objects to clean out hose as they can cause damage.
• With br ush roll on, do not allow cleaner to sit in one location for an extended period of time, as
damage to floor can result.

If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, call customer service at 1-800-944-9200 prior to continuing use.
Cord Storage: Wrap cord around hooks for convenient storage. Attach the plug end to the cord.
NOTICE: A Thermal Protector has been designed into your cleaner to protect it from overheating. When the Thermal Protector activates, the cleaner will stop running.
If this happens proceed as follows:
1. Turn cleaner OFF and unplug it.
2. Empty the dirt cup.
3. Inspect the nozzle inlet, hose connector, hose, dirt cup inlet, cyclonic filter rinsable filter and exhaust filter for any obstructions. Clear obstructions if present.
4. When cleaner is de-energized and motor cools for 30 minutes, the thermal protector will deactivate and cleaning may continue.
If the thermal protector continues to activate after following the above steps, your cleaner needs servicing.
Dirt Cup Release
WARNING
To reduce the risk of personal injury, unplug before cleaning or servicing.
Emptying the Dirt Cup
1. Remove the dirt cup by pressing the dirt cup release button.
2. Hold the dirt cup over your trash can and press the dirt cup trap door release to empty the dirt cup.
TIP: Empty the dirt cup after every use to maintain optimal performance.

Cleaning the Filters
Pre-Motor Filter

Locate exhaust filter.
Tap the filter on the side of a trash
can to remove excess dirt and replace
filter and filter cover.
TIP: DO NOT RINSE THE EXHAUST FILTER. Replace filters when heavily discolored.
Do not use your vacuum without all of the filters in place.
Maintenance
Cleaning & Maintaining the Brush Roll
CAUTION
To reduce the risk of injury from moving parts, unplug before servicing.
LUBRICATION: The motor and brush roll
are equipped with bearings which contain
sucient lubrication for their lifetime. The
addition of lubrication could cause damage. Do
not add lubricant to motor or brush roll.

TIP: Rotate brush roll manually to ensure the belt is proper ly installed. Vacuum is equipped with an automatic brush roll shutoff in the event of overload or jam. Check for obstructions
in the brush roll area and remove any obstructions. When obstructions are cle ared, resume cleaning as normal.
To access the brush roll, unscrew the
nozzle guard from the nozzle.

Remove any hair or blockages.

Remove the brush roll by pulling
it up and out from the vacuum belt.
Replace brush roll and nozzle guard.
Secure with screws.

My vacuum will not turn ON1. Always b e sure to plug it in firmly.
2. The T hermal Prot ector may hav e been activa ted - unplug your v acuum and let co ol for 30 minutes. If thi s does not work , there may be no voltage in the wall plug.
3. Check the fuse or breaker in y our home. If ther e is a blown fuse or tripped breaker, repl ace the fuse in your hom e or reset the breaker.
My vacuum is hard to push1. Open the Suction Control Valve near the handle by twisting the valve clockwise.
My vacuum is losing suction
My brush roll is not spinning
1. Be sure t o empty the dir t cup if it is full . Check that th e dirt cup is prop erly assembl ed and install ed onto the appliance.
2. The v acuum has a suction control v alve located b elow the handle. Adjus t suction by cl osing valve to in crease suct ion or opening valve to dec rease suction.
3. You may have a clo gged filter. Refer t o the Maintenance sec tion in this manual for dir ections on rem oving clogs.
4. Your filt er may be dirty. Pre-motor filt ers should be ri nsed every 4 -6 uses. Refer to the Maintena nce section f or direction s on how to clean filters.
5. If pro blem persist s, you may have a clog in the s ystem. Refe r to the Maintenance section on how to remove a cl og in your system.
1. Unplug and remove any hair or other blockages around the brush roll.
2. Clean filters. Refer to the Maintenance section for directions on how to clean filters.
3. Check for clogs in the system. Refer to the Maintenance section for directions on how to remove clogs.
4. Resume normal operation.
