Storage Store the vacuum cleaner in a cool dry place. It is recommended to empty and clean the drum before storing fora lengthyperiodoftime.
Service If service becomes necessarywithinthe warrantyperiod,the
appliance should be returned to an approved Amalgamated
Appliances (Pty) Ltd Service Centre. Servicing outside the warranty period is still available however this will be chargeable. Use only recommended spare parts and accessories on the vacuum cleaner for maximumefficiency.

WARRANTY
Amalgamated Appliances (Pty) Limited ("the Supplier") WaITantsto the original purchaser of this product ("the Customer") that this product will be ftee of defects in material and workmanship which under normal, personal, family or household purpose manifest themselves within aperiod of 365 days &om the date of purchase or in respect of commercial or professional purposes, manifest themselves within a period of 90 days ftom the date of purchase. Any claim in terms of the WaITantymust be supported by a proof of purchase. If such proof is not available, then notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein, the Supplier's normal charge for service and/or spares will be payable by the Customer upon collection of the repaired product. If a claim is made in terms of the aforesaid WaITantywithin the first 7 days ftom the date of purchase, the faulty product will be exchanged (provided that the product is in its original packaging with all accessories). Failing return of the product within 7 days, the Supplier's liability shall be limited on return to the Supplier of the product orparts thereof, tothe replacement or repair (in the
sole discretion of the Supplier, or its duly authorised service dealer) of the product to eliminate any defect in workmanship or materials found to be due exclusively to any acts or omissions on the parts of the Suppliers, of which defects the Supplier shall have been notified in writing by the Customer within the aforesaid waITanty period. The waITanty provided herein andthe obligations ofthe Supplier as aforesaid are in lieuof, and the Customer waives, all other waITanties,guarantees, conditions or liabilities, express or implied, arising by law or otherwise, including without limita- tion, any obligation of the Supplier in respect of any injury, loss or damage (direct, indirect or consequential) arising out of the use of, or inability to use, this product and whether or not occasioned by the Supplier's negligence (gross or otherwise) or any act or omission on its part. The WaITantydoes not include and will not be construed to cover products damaged as a result of disaster, misuse, abuse or any non-authorised modification of the product. The waITantydoes not include replacement of light bulbs, heater bars, paper bags or any glass, plastic bowl orjug or other expendables. During the waITantyperiod the product should be taken to a service centre of the Supplier or one of its duly authorised service agents. The Supplier neither assumes nor authorises any other person to assume for it, any additional liability in connection with the sale or servicing of its
products.

Operating Instructions.
Important Safety Instructions. Before using the vacuum cleaner, always read the operating instructions and keep them readily available.
Purpose and Intended Use.
The vacuum cleaner described in this operating manual is
suitable for private use, e.g. household, hobby workshop, car
cleaning and sucking up dust and liquids.

· Hazardous dust
· Hot materials (burning cigarettes,hot ash, etc.)
· Flammable, explosiveoraggressive liquids (e.g. petrol, solvents, acids, alkalis, etc.)
· Flammable or explosive dust (e.g. magnesiumor aluminiumdust,etc.)
BeforeStart-up. . Ensure that the voltage shown on the rating plate
correspondsto the voltageofthe local Mains power supply.
· It is recommended that the vacuum cleaner should be connectedviaa residentialcurrentcircuit breaker.
· Inspect the powercord regularlyto detectsignsofdamage, e.g. cracks or ageing. A damaged power cord must be replaced by an authorisedperson. Never use th-evacuum cleaner ifthe filteris damaged.

Operating your Hoover HWD 020Wet/Dryvacuum cleaner:
I. Unwind the power supply cord ITomthe cord storage
andplugintothepower supply socketoutlet.
2. Switch the vacuum cleaner ON by depressing the ON/OFFswitch.
3. A suction regulator is located on the hose handle. To activate simply slide the regulator open to reduce the level of suctionrequired. The suctionregulator shouldbekeptin the closed position.
4. The suctionpowerwill reduce and stop as the drum fillsup. It isrecommendedto empty the drumon a regularbasis.
5. To switchthe vacuum OFF depressthe ON/OFFswitch againandthenremoveITomthe mainspowersupply.

Pickingup Liquids. Before liquids are picked up, always remove the filter bag. If foam developsor liquid emerges, stop work immediately andemptythe drum.

Blow Function.
1. Unwind the power supply cord ITomthe cord storage.
2. Attach the flexi hose to the blow outlet and attach the desired nozzle to the flexi hose.
3. Switch the vacuum cleaner ON by depressing the ON/OFF switch.
4. To switch the vacuum cleaner OFF depress the ON/OFF switch again and then remove ITomthe mains power supply.

Maintenance, Cleaning and Repair.
1. Disconnect the plug ITomthe mains power supply
beforecleaning.
2. Take care when emptying the drum, as when full it couldweighupto 24 kg.
3. Releasethetwo latcheslocatedonthe drumin order to removethe motorhousing.
4. Emptythe drum using the handle grip located on the undersideofthe drum.Clean with a warm moistcloth
and buff dry. Do not use harsh abrasivesor other cleaningaidsto cleanthe vacuumcleaner.
5. Clean the filterperiodically by gently beating it over a rubbish bin. If cleaning is not done the suction power of the vacuum will decrease.
6. After cleaning the vacuum cleaner, placethe motor
housing on to the drumand securethe two latches
back into place.For correct assemblyofmotorhousing
to drum,ensurethat thevacuuminletandtheblower
outletlineup vertically.
7. Never spray water overthe upper sectionofthe vacuum cleaner.
