BEFORE USING THE OVEN FOR THE FIRST TIME

The OVEN only works if the
programmer is in manual mode

The OVEN works only if the clock is in the manual position (turn the knob
anti-clockwise to the manual symbol: ) or if a cooking time is set (turn the
knob to the required time).
In position “0” the oven will not work.

protective coatings may
evaporate from the heating
elements.

While this process is taking place
it is quite normal for acrid smelling
smoke to be given off. This smoke
will flow out of the oven and is
harmless.

• Set the time – see instruction booklet
NB: if the time is not set, the oven will not work
• This is normal when the oven is first connected to the power supply
and whenever the power supply is interrupted.
Check electrical connections: Brown wire on Phase and Blue wire on
Neutral. If right connection is not respected the oven could not work
properly.
ATTENTION: even in case of wrong connection the problem could not
be evident in the first uses of the oven.
• Is the oven plugged into the mains power supply?
• Check that that the mains power supply is working (try switching on
a light, or another appliance)
• Clock in the 0 position; turn to manual or set a cooking time (see
instruction booklet)
• Press the manual key on the electronic programmer or set a cooking
time (see instruction booklet)
• Thermostat on 0; set a temperature
• Function selector on 0; set a cooking function (see instruction booklet)
• Incorrect connection to electrical connection board (see instruction
booklet)

DURING FIRST USE
• Normal when cooking food with a high water content (e.g. vegetables)
or when cooking with a double saucepan. Reduce the cooking
temperature and increase the time
• Preheat the oven for 5-10 minutes before starting cooking
• The defrost function circulates air round the inside of the oven.
According to the quantity of food, defrosting can take from a few
minutes, to hours
• Normal. When the set temperature has been reached the temperature
light or the internal light (according to the model) go off. When the
internal temperature decreases the heating elements start up again
and the temperature light (or internal light) comes on
• Normal. Operate the oven, empty, for a maximum of 2 hours to
remove the protective coatings from the heating elements. The smoke
produced is completely harmless
