Chapter 3 Play Media from Local Network
The PowerZest supports several network protocols for media streaming. Some popular usages are
described in the following sections.
UPnP (DLNA)
The PowerZest will automatically detect all available UPnP AV compliant content severs on boot-up and
list them on UPnP column of the main menu. No additional setup is necessary on the PowerZest itself.
TVersityTM is popular and free UPnP server software, please refer to http://tversity.com for reference and
downloading.
Using the Honeywld Digital Media Server (DMS)
DMS is the de facto UPnP media server for PowerZest to share music, photo and video files from your
computer in local area network. The PowerZest can connect to more than one Media Server at a time
and scan all the files you want to share in the same local network.
Follow these steps to install the software:
1. Download the software from http://www.honeywld.com
2. Double click “Setup.exe” and the Install Shield Wizard will start. Follow Install Shield Wizard
steps to install the software.
3. Choose language from pop icon.
4. Upon the completion of the Install Shield Wizard, select Honeywld DMS Server from All
Program of Windows OS to begin service
Honeywld Technology Corp 28
5. Please be noted that some firewall and anti-Virus tools will forbid “UPnP” or “Samba” file sharing.
This will affect the connection between “Honeywld DMS” and PowerZest. Please refer to the
section named “Disable firewall under Windows Vista” below to solve it.
Media List Tab
Follow these steps to import media:
1. Press “Add” button to invoke the Explore to choose folder.
