sealed and will never require relling or replacing.
NOTE: THESE MODELS MAY TAKE UP TO SEVERAL MINUTES TO REACH NORMAL OPERATIONAL TEMPERATURE.
Be sure the heater is not in a position where it may be tripped over by children or pets.
ABOUT OIL FILLED TECHNOLOGY
Electric Radiators generate heat by passing warmed oil inside sealed metal columns. Air passes over and through the large surface area of the metal columns, circulating steady, long-term heat throughout the room. This type of convection heating technology is quiet and provides gradual, ecient heating.
For best results, place heater on the oor to create warming room convection and allow heater to run for 10-15 minutes to reach maximum heat output.
SET UP
Place the heater on a rm, level surface free from obstructions, and at least 3ft. (0.9m) away from any wall or combustible material.
Do NOT use on an unstable surface such as bedding or deep carpeting.
MOVING THE HEATER
• Turn o the heater.
• Allow it to cool for ten minutes.
• This heater is equipped with a large luggage-style handle and easy glide caster wheels for your convenience.
• Unplug heater and simply push the handle up in an upright position and pull to move.
• Place the heater on a rm, level surface free from obstructions, and at least 3ft. (0.9m) away from any wall or combustible material.

HZ-789 OPERATION
NOTE: NEVER LEAVE AN OPERATING UNIT UNATTENDED.
With the Power Button (
) in the OFF position, plug the heater into a 120V outlet. DO NOT FORCE THE THREE PRONG SUPPLY CORD INTO THE OUTLET; it will only t one way.
Turn the heater on by pressing Power Button (
) button, (Fig. 4). The heater will
default to the Constant HI mode and the Current Temp Indicator will display the current room temperature.
As the heater warms up, the oil in the metal columns may naturally expand and make a slight ticking sound. This is normal and will stop once the oil has reached the optimal temperature.
The Energy Usage Indicator will display the power consumption used by the heater.
• If HI, the heater is drawing 1500 watts to quickly warm the room
• If LO, the heater is drawing 900 watts to slowly warm the room or maintain the
temperature.
• If STAND BY, the heater is drawing no power as the room has reached the Desired
Temperature. At this point, the heater is most ecient and is drawing only a few watts of energy while in STAND BY mode.
To set the heater, (Fig. 5) the digital control is equipped with two (2) modes: Constant Heat Mode - there are two (2) heat settings 1 For Constant Low, press SET to LO; this setting uses 900 watts of power
2 For Constant High, press SET to HI; this setting uses 1500 watts of power NOTE: Because the LO setting does not require as much electricity to operate,
it is more energy ecient and may be a better option if you are concerned about saving energy.
EnergySmart® Mode - A smart thermostat that helps you save energy. Press SET to choose from four (4) comfort settings of 65°F (18°C), 70°F (21°C), 75°F (24°C), 80°F (27°C). This is your desired room temperature. The EnergySmart® thermostat will automatically select the appropriate power level to best accommodate your Desired Temperature. As the air temperature (Current Temp) in the room approaches the Desired Temperature, the heater will automatically lower the power consumption to provide consistent warmth without wasting energy.
The Current Temp Indicator will display the current room temperature. NOTE: In the EnergySmart® mode, the Energy Usage Indicator will display what
power consumption the heater has automatically selected to eciently meet your Desired Temperature.
• To override the EnergySmart® function, turn the heater OFF (
) or press SET to
choose a Constant Heat mode.
• To set the Timer, (Fig.6) press the (
) button to select 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 hour setting. The heater will run for that chosen period in the selected mode and automatically shut o after the desired time has passed. Timer will count down to display the remaining time.

Operation Cost* To estimate the cost to operate this heater, multiple the watts used times .001 to convert into a kilowatts measure and multiple by your local kilowatt electric rate for however long you run the heater. For example, if your electric rate is $.1196** per kilowatt hour and you ran this heater in constant high mode (1500 watts) for 4 hours, it would cost you $.71 cents to run the heater (1500 watts x 4 hours x.001) x .1196kwp = .71 cents)
NOTE: Because the (LO) or EnergySmart® Setting does not require as much electricity to operate, they are more energy ecient and may be better options if you are concerned about the amperage draw on a circuit when the heater is on the (HI) setting.
