Introduction
Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for product compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
Congratulations! Your selection of a Honda Remote Control Starter System was a wise investment. This system is the result of extensive research and development, and will provide you with many years of reliable performance, protection, and convenience.
The remote control starter system consists of a transmitter that allows you to start and stop the engine from outside the vehicle. You can also use the transmitter to lock and unlock the doors, as well as activate the horn in case of emergency.
Some communities may have restrictions on the use of remote starters. Before using your remote control starter system, please check all local laws and regulations.
To take full advantage of your Honda Remote Control Starter System, please read this manual thoroughly.
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
This device complies with RSS-210 of Industry and Science Canada. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause interference, and (2) This device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device.
Due to the expertise required to properly install the Honda Remote Control Starter System, we highly recommend that the installation be performed by your Honda dealer. Proper wiring and component placement are essential for optimum system performance.

WARNING
• Starting your car in an enclosed area can cause toxic carbon monoxide build-up. Breathing this odorless gas can cause unconsciousness and even death. Do not use the remote starter to run your engine in a closed garage or other area with poor ventilation.
5412071K
Precautions <For Safety>
• Do not operate the remote control car starter system to start the engine without removing the body cover from the car. It can cause a fire.
• Do not start the engine with this remote control car starter system near the flammable material such as the dead grass, paper, oil, grease, wood, etc. The heat from the exhaust pipe or exhaust gas can ignite the flammable material.

Precautions <For Safety>
CAUTION
• Do not operate the switches on the transmitter unnecessarily as the electric wave from the transmitter can carry very far. To prevent an accident caused by accidental start of the engine, operate the remote control car starter system in the area where you can check that there are no people, pets and obstacles around the car. Be careful not to allow a pet or other small animal to enter the engine compartment.

Precautions <For Safety (Transmitter)>
WARNING
• Store the batteries out of reach of children. If it is accidentally swallowed by a child, give him/her medical treatment immediately. Failure of prompt medical treatment will be very dangerous for the life of the child.
CAUTION
• Do not charge, short-circuit, disassemble, deform or heat up the battery and do not throw it in fire, either. The battery contains flammable material such as lithium and organic solvent that can cause the battery to ignite, heat or explode when it is handled improperly.
• Insulate the battery with tape before disposing or storing the battery for a prolonged period of time. Contact with another metal or battery will cause it to ignite or explode.
ADVICE
• Take care not to drop the transmitter on the floor and not to strike it against a hard material, either. It can destroy the crystal transmitter inside the transmitter causing the transmitter malfunction.
• Do not use the benzine, thinner and chemical cloth to clean the transmitter. Wipe it with a soft cloth dampened with neutral detergent and water solution, then wipe it with a dry cloth to clean.
• Do not operate the transmitter under the direct sunlight, in a damp and/or extremely hot/cold place. Avoid these places to store the transmitter. Working temperature:
-20°C to +60°C (-4°F to 140°F)
• Though this transmitter is water resistant lightly, do not operate and store it in a place where it is splashed with water directly. It can cause the transmitter malfunction.
• Store the transmitter out of reach of children.

Precautions <For Safety (Transmitter)>
ADVICE
Remote Control Range
Several factors affect and reduce remote control range. Among these are:
1. Proximity to buildings and automobiles.
2. Proximity to high power transmitters (television, radio, cellular, HAM radio, etc.).
3. When the battery becomes weak, the remote control range becomes short.
Car construction and the surrounding environment cause reflected waves that may interfere with the low power RF signal transmitted by the remote control. This interference may result in “dead spots” around the car; places where remote control signals will not be accepted by the main unit.
5412010K
Battery Power
Use the remote control transmitter only when necessary. Every time a button is pressed, the remote control is consuming battery power. If battery is low on power, the transmitting range of the remote control will be affected. Check battery periodically and replace it when necessary.
5412050K
In Case of Loss
If one of your remote control transmitters is ever lost, contact your local Honda dealer for a replacement. Your system will be reprogrammed to prevent the lost remote control transmitter from operating your system. In this case, take all the other remote control transmitters to have them reprogrammed. If you own extra remotes, bring it all to the dealer for reprogramming.

Either of the conditions (1) is not satisfied.
Approx. 10 minutes has passed after starting the engine.
The malfunction indicator lamp is ON.
The engine speed rises to 4,000 rpm or more.

INFORMATION
• The immobilizer system operates automatically after the engine stops.
• The security system is set so it does not function in error when starting the engine with the remote control car starter system (Only the model equipped with the standard equipment of the security system or the model equipped with the optional equipment of the genuine security system).
• The automatic climate control car is equipped with the air conditioner-interlocking function that functions when starting the engine with the remote control car starter system. It automatically activates the air conditioner or heating wire in accordance with the ambient temperature by setting them on the car side. Refer to the section of “Air Conditioner-Interlocking Function At Engine Start” for further information.

Before Leaving Your Car
5419050K
1. Move the gearshift lever to the “P” position.
5419032K
2. Turn the ignition switch to the “LOCK (0)” position and remove the keyless entry-integrated key or car key from the ignition switch.
5419040K
ADVICE
Be sure to turn the wiper switch OFF whenever the wiper has been operated. Leaving the wiper switch ON can cause excessive load to apply to the wiper motor resulting in wiper switch malfunction when the remote control car starter system is operated with the wiper blade frozen in winter.
INFORMATION
If your car is equipped with the auto light control system, be sure to turn the switch OFF. If the switch is held in the ON position, the headlights can come ON when the remote control car starter system is operated at night or in a dark place.

Battery precautions
• To prevent poor contact of the batteries, wipe them with a clean dry cloth before installation.
• Do not hold a battery with a metallic tool such as the tweezers. It can cause short circuit of the battery.
Contact with another metal or battery will cause the battery to ignite or explode.
