Ceres seating began with scientific research on how people sit. The end
result is a superior sitting experience—and a stylish, beautiful chair.
The aesthetic integrity of form that follows function gives Ceres its

COMPLETE SUPPORT
In the studio of Ceres designer Wolfgang Deisig, every
new concept begins with a question: What can be improved?
With Ceres, Deisig set out to improve the back support
delivered by work chairs. He conducted motion studies of
how people sit and revealed a gap in support as they recline.
The kinesthetic design of Ceres addresses this problem,
keeping the backrest in constant contact with your lumbar
as you sit upright, recline, or move between postures.
CLOSING THE GAP
Ceres is uniquely engineered to support the
natural way your body moves.
STANDARD SUPPORT – UPRIGHT
When sitting upright in a standard office chair,
you may feel a separation between your upper
back and the backrest.
CERES SUPPORT – UPRIGHT
Sitting upright in a Ceres work chair, you’ll feel the
backrest supporting you from the shoulders down
to the lumbar.
STANDARD SUPPORT – RECLINED
As you recline in a standard office chair, the
backrest pulls away from you, creating a gap
in lumbar support.
CERES SUPPORT – RECLINED
The synchronized tilt of the Ceres work chair
mimics the motion of your body as you recline
to provide total support with no lumbar gap.

COMPLETE CONTROL
Seating is personal. At the same time, it’s also universal. That’s why
Ceres makes it easy for everyone in the workplace to take control
of their own superior sitting experience. Ceres accommodates most
workplace applications, and all users from the 5th to 95th percentile.
User adjustments are immediately responsive and fully integrated
into the seat, putting personalization within easy reach.
SIMPLE, INTUITIVE USER ADJUSTMENTS
SEAT HEIGHT
Seat height adjusts by lifting a lever
conveniently placed on the right-hand
edge of the seat.
SEAT DEPTH
The seat glides forward or back when a
lever along the left-hand edge of the seat
is lifted.
TILT TENSION
Moving a slider a span of less than
2 inches along the right-hand seat edge
accesses the full range of tilt tension.
TILT LOCK
A switch on the left-hand edge of the seat
locks the chair in one of three tilt positions.
ARM HEIGHT AND DEPTH
Press a button beneath the arms to raise
or lower them. Push armpads to slide them
forward or back.
ARM WIDTH
With arms forward, armpads arc in about
5.5 degrees and out about 4.5 degrees.
