IMPORTANT INFORMATION
·Severe dehydration and excessive water loss may cause readings
which are lower / or higher than actual values. If you believe you are suffering from severe dehydration, consult a healthcare professional immediately.
·If your blood glucose results are lower or higher than usual, and you
do not have any symptoms of illness, rst repeat the test. If you have
symptoms or continue to get results higher or lower than usual, follow the treatment advice of your healthcare professional.
·Use only capillary whole blood sample to test your blood glucose.
Using other substances will lead to incorrect results.
·If you are experiencing symptoms that are inconsistent with your
blood glucose test results and you have followed all instructions described in this owner’s manual, call your healthcare professional.
·We do not recommend using this product on severely hypotensive
individuals or patients in shock. Readings which are lower than actual values may occur for individuals experiencing a hyperglycaemic-hyperosmolar state, with or without ketosis. Please consult the healthcare professional before use.

Important: There are limitations with AST (Alternative Site Testing). Please consult your healthcare professional before you begin AST.
What is AST?
Alternative site testing (AST) means that people use parts of the body other
than the ngertips to check their blood
glucose levels. This system allows you to test on the palm, the forearm, the upper arm, the calf or the thigh with results
equivalent to ngertip testing.
What’s the advantage?
Fingertips feel pain more readily because they are full of nerve endings (receptors). At other body sites, since nerve endings are not so condensed, you will not feel as much pain
as on the ngertips.
When to use AST?
Food, medication, illness, stress and exercise can affect blood
glucose levels. Capillary blood at the ngertip reects these changes
faster than capillary blood at other sites. Therefore, when testing blood glucose during or immediately after a meal or physical exercise, or any other event, take a blood sample from your nger only.
Alternative Site Testing (AST)
8
We strongly recommend you do AST only at the following times:
˙In a pre-meal or fasting state (more than 2 hours since the last meal). ˙Two hours or more after taking insulin. ˙Two hours or more after exercise.
Do NOT use AST if:
˙You think your blood glucose is low. ˙You are unaware of hypoglycemia. ˙You are testing for hyperglycemia. ˙Your AST results do not correspond with the way you feel. ˙Your routine glucose results are often uctuate.
How to increase the accuracy?
Stimulating blood perfusion by rubbing the puncture site prior to
blood extraction has a signicant inuence on the glucose value
obtained. Blood from a site that has not been rubbed exhibits a
measurably different glucose concentration than blood from the nger.
When the puncture site is rubbed prior to blood extraction, the difference is markedly reduced.
Please follow suggestions below before puncturing the skin:
˙Rub the puncture site approximately 20 seconds before penetration. ˙Use a clear cap (included in the kit) while setting the lancing device.

INTRODUCTION TO THE SYSTEM
Intended Use
The system is intended for use outside the body (in vitro diagnostic use). by people with diabetes at home and by health care professionals in clinical settings as an aid to monitoring the effectiveness of diabetes control. It is intended to be used for the quantitative measurement of glucose (sugar) in fresh whole blood
samples (from the nger, palm, forearm, upper arm, calf and thigh).
It should not be used for the diagnosis of diabetes, or testing on newborns.
Principle of Measurement
Your system measures the amount of sugar (glucose) in whole blood. The glucose testing is based on the measurement of electrical current generated by the reaction of glucose with the reagent of the strip. The meter measures the current, calculates the blood glucose level, and displays the result. The strength of the current produced by the reaction depends on the amount of glucose in the blood sample.
10
Contents of the System
The system consists of three main products: the blood glucose meter, test strips, and a control solution. These products have been designed, tested, and proven to work together as a system to produce accurate blood glucose test results. Use only the test strips and TaiDoc control solution with the blood glucose meter. Your system includes:

Test Strip
This system measures the amount of sugar (glucose) in whole blood. Blood is applied to the absorbent hole of the test strip and is automatically drawn into the reaction cell where the reaction takes place.
The test strip consists of the following parts:
Contact Bars
Insert this end of the test strip into the meter.
Push it in rmly until it will go no further.
Test Strip Handle
Hold this part to insert the test strip into the slot.
Conrmation Window
This is where you conrm if enough blood
has been applied to the absorbent hole of the strip.
Absorbent Hole
Apply a drop of blood here, The blood will be sucked automatically.

BEFORE USE
Battery Recharge
Your meter comes with built-in rechargeable Li-polymer battery which allows recharging the meter. If the low battery symbol
appears on the screen indicating that the battery is low and it is
time to recharge the battery.
1. Connect the USB adapter to the side of the
meter.
2.Plug the USB adapter to a wall outlet or
connect the other end of USB cable to the
USB port on your personal computer.
3.The recharge symbol shows when bat-
tery is recharging. After the battery is fully
charged, remove the USB cable and then
the meter will return to Main Control Mode.
It will automatically turn off if left idle for 2
minutes.
NOTE
Recharging the battery does not affect the test results stored in the memory.
The USB cable is for meter recharging and data transmission with a computer.
If you wish to recharge through wall outlet, please obtain a USB adapter.
Generally, the expected battery life can last for at least 200 measurements with
3 minutes in each measurement, or at least for 4 months of standby until the
meter runs out of power.
