A temporary adapter that looks like the adapter illustrated in Figure B may be used to connect this plug to a 2-pole receptacle as shown in Figure D if a properly grounded outlet is not available. The temporary adapter should be used only until a properly grounded outlet Figure C can be installed by a qualified electrician. The tab for grounding screw Figure B extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box cover. Assembly Instructions

Setting up your massage chair is easy to do. Your massage chair is almost completely assembled. After carefully removing all the contents from the packaging, inspect the chair and its components to make sure everything has been received.

Components:

• Chair back

• Lumbar/Headrest pillow

• Chair seat

*Removable softening pad

• Seat cushion

currently in the backrest.

Step 1

Attaching the Seat Cushion

First, clip the ties holding the power cord to the back of the seat frame.

Next, attach the seat cushion to the seat by placing the cushion fully in the seat and lining up the fabric fasteners. There is one fastener strip in the seat and the second wraps around the back edge.

Step 2

Attach the back of the chair to the seat.

First, locate the 2 cords that are attached to the left side of chair seat (power cord and output jack) and make sure they exit from the rear of the seat as shown in Figure 1

Next you will need to place the chair back into the seat. Pick up the chair back with the zipper side facing the front of the chair and lower the back into the seat so that the knobs on either side of the back (Fig. 2) lock into the latches in the chair seat (Fig. 1). The latches are marked with bright green paint.

The back will click into place and will sit evenly in the seat. Once the back is sitting evenly in the chair seat, confirm that the back and seat are attached correctly by sitting in the chair and pulling the recline lever on the right side of the chair (Fig. 3). The chair should recline easily.

NOTE: If the back does not appear even or the chair does not recline easily, then you may have engaged the latches on only one side. To correct this you will need to release the back as noted below and begin Step 2 again.

Step 3

Connect the power source.

First, securely connect the output jack that is located on the left rear of the chair seat to the input jack (Fig. 1) in the lower left rear of the chair back (Fig. 4). Be sure that the output jack is inserted with the word “Up” facing upwards. When inserted correctly, the third or middle horizontal line on the connector will meet the edge of the input jack (Fig. 4).

Plug the power cord into a grounded 120-volt outlet. This product is equipped with a grounded plug and should only be used with the appropriate outlet. Once all pieces of the massage chair are in place and the main power line is plugged in, you may turn the power switch on (Fig. 5).

The eLounger contains a pass-through electrical outlet with a maximum wattage of 300W as a convenience feature (Fig. 5). NOTE: This outlet is an added convenience for use with items such as the coordinating massaging ottoman, a laptop, lamp or similar device. It will not power the chair.

Removing the Back from the Seat

To remove the chair back from the seat:

First, turn off the main power switch and unplug the unit. Then remove the output jack from the chair back.

Locate the levers along both sides of the rear of the chair seat (Fig. 6).

Push both at once and lean the chair back forward to release it from the seat. Tip: Use your body or shoulder to lean against the back as you depress the levers.

To reconnect the back to the seat, repeat Step 2.

Enjoying Your Chair and General

Use

Choosing a Location

It is important to choose a location that will allow you to best enjoy the chair’s benefits. The following is required for the massage chair:

The chair back should be approximately 1 foot from the nearest object to recline fully.

An electrical outlet that is a maximum of 8 feet from the chair.

Insert to this line

In addition, we would suggest you consider the following for your massage chair location:

Choose a low traffic area so you can create a peaceful environment when getting your massage.

Choose a location in your home that makes you feel the most comfortable and relaxed, but is also convenient.

Adjustable lighting near the chair allows you to create Figure 7 the right setting for your mood.

Moving Your Chair

Once you have selected the location for your chair, you can easily move it with the convenient wheels located on the rear of the chair (Fig. 7).

To move your chair, stand behind the chair and tilt it backwards until the wheels are engaged. Then simply push your chair to the location you want. When you are lowering the front of the chair in the spot you want it, be careful not to drop it too hard or fast, as it may cause damage to your floors.

Figure 8 Turning On Your Chair

The eLounger massage chair has a master power switch that must be in the “on” position in order to work. Once you have plugged the chair power cord into the electrical outlet, turn on the master power switch located on the back of the chair (Fig. 8). Within the control panel, the green “e” in eLounger and the red LED below it will illuminate to confirm that the chair has power.

Figure 9 Reclining Your Chair

You can adjust the backrest angle to recline up to approximately 160 degrees. Reclining the backrest increases the intensity of the massage, and also repositions the body so that the massage range along your back and neck is changed. Typically, the further you recline, the further the massage will reach in the shoulder and neck area.

Recline

To recline the backrest using the manual control, lift the lever on the right side of the chair seat (Fig. 3) and lean back. When you are in the desired position, release the lever. When you are ready to raise the backrest, pull the lever up again and lean forward. The hydraulic gas system will raise the backrest for you.

NOTE: In order to avoid strain and potential injury to your back, never attempt to get in or out of the massage chair with the backrest reclined.

Adjusting the Cushions

There are two adjustable cushions that are included with your chair: the backrest softening pad and the lumbar/ headrest pillow.

THE BACKREST SOFTENING PAD

Your massage chair comes with a backrest softening pad. It is recommended that you have this softening pad installed for the most comfort while just sitting in the chair. In addition, it is recommended that you use the softening pad while getting a massage until your body is “used to” the intensity of the massage. Once you are comfortable with it, you may want to increase the intensity of the massage by removing the softening pad. This will allow you to experience a deeper, massage.

To install the softening pad:

Lift the flap at the top of the chair to expose the ends of the zippers (Fig 9) and unzip each side.

Locate the inside pocket that holds the softening pad (Fig.10). Simply insert or remove the softening pad (Fig. 11) from this pocket.

Close the zippers and the top flap.

THE LUMBAR/HEADREST PAD

The lumbar/headrest pillow (see page 16) is provided for customized comfort. You may adjust its location to fit your needs. For example, you can support your head and neck or your lumbar area.

ADDITIONAL CUSHIONS:

You may add additional cushioning to the chair with your own pillows. Keep in mind that the more cushioning you add, the less you will be able to feel the massage.

Cup Holder

As an added convenience feature, the eLounger includes a cup holder in the right armrest that will hold many types of containers. To help maintain cleanliness, there is a removable insert. A soft, damp cloth is recommended for cleaning. Please see page 17 for additional information on care and use for the eLounger.
