To avoid tripping, do not leave tools or other components laying around the work area. Do not expose the machine to rain, do not use it outdoors. PROTECT YOURSELF
Any machine may catapult during the cutting process wood chips, wood parts into the eyes. This can cause permanent eye damage. Therefore: Always wear certied safety goggles. Everyday eyeglasses are not sufcient. They are not safety glasses. Depending on the working environment, sound levels of the machine together with other sound sources can add up to a total level where it may damage your hearing! ENGLISH
CHECK YOUR MACHINE BEFORE OPERATION
Check the machine and its safety devices for any damages. Check all nuts, bolts etc ... if they are tightened securely. Check the condition of the working tools. Check the function of the ON/OFF switch on a regular basis.
BEWARE OF WOODDUST
Especially chemically treated but as well coated wood materials may produce toxic wood dust during operation, that may cause permanent respiratory damages. If working with treated wood, wear an appropriate breathing mask and work in a well ventilated area! We recommend to connect your machine to a dust collection system.
ELECTRIC HAZARD
Do not touch any electric parts of the machine. Assure yourself to operate the machine only with an appropriate supply circuit. It shall be grounded and equipped with a short-circuit protector. The Electric specications must match with the required specications of the machine (V / Hz / Phases).
BLADE
Always keep the blade tensioned properly. Check blade tension before every operation. Always keep sure that the bladee teeth show downwards towards the table. Do not use a dull or defect blade anymore but replace it.
OPERATION
Never turn your scroll saw on before having cleared the table from any objects like tools, wood scrap etc. The scroll saw should cut on the downstroke. Lower the blade protection cover as low as possible. Hold the the workpiece rmly against the table. Do not feed the material too fast and try to maintain a constant feeding speed. Take care when cutting materials with differences in cross-section/thickness. It could pinch the blade beore the cut is completed. Take especial care when cutting round materials. They tend to rotate while being cut. When cutting a large piece of material, make sure that it is supported sufciently at any time during the cutting process. Do not use the saw for larger materials it is intended to use. Do not allow familarity and routine to reduce your attention while working.
KEEP YOUR HANDS AWAY FROM THE BLADE!
Avoid awkward hand positions where a sudden slip could cause your hand to move into the blade! Do not guide very small or narrow workpieces directly by hand. Rather use a suitable scrapwood or other accesories.
RESIDUAL RISK FACTORS
Respiratory damages caused by inhaling wood, plastic, metal etc. dust. Cutting injury by contact with the operating saw blade. cutting injury during saw blade change. Finger crush injuries through workpiece kickback.
