Congratulations, you have purchased one of the finest
energy-efficient reading lamps available on the market
today. The Volkslampe VL500 Raumfluter comes packaged in

two boxes, one for the shade and one for the fixture including:

1. Floor lamp base

2. Fabric shade

3. Frosted glass shield

4. 3x Energy Star® rated compact fluorescent bulbs

(120V/27W-GU24), manufactured by Westinghouse.

Assemble Volkslampe VL500

1. See Diagram 1. Unscrew the two white nuts A located
on the frame of the Raumfluter near the base of the
socket assembly.

2. Place the frosted glass shield B, smooth side down, over
the socket assembly. Angle the glass shield over one of
the sockets and “fish-hook” the glass shield into place.

3. To secure the glass shield B, screw the two white nuts A
back in place. Do not overtighten.

4. See Diagram 2. Unscrew the two white nuts C located
on the lower ring of the socket assembly.

5. Place the fabric shade D perpendicular to the socket
assembly, holding the shade with the metal keyhole
towards the bottom. Place the keyhole over the socket

assembly and turn the shade a quarter of a turn, aligning

it with the glass shield that is already in place.

6. Line up the two screws E on the socket assembly with
two holes opposite each other on the keyhole in the
shade. Screw the two white nuts back in place to secure
the shade.

7. From the top, install the three compact fluorescent bulbs

. Push and turn the bulbs into the sockets. Your lamp

is now operational.

Care Instructions

Use only a soft, dry cloth to clean. If necessary, a slightly damp, soft cloth can be used to spot

clean. Do not use common household cleaners on lamps or fixtures, as the lacquer on the

outside of the brass may be damaged as a result. Enjoy your new Holtkötter lamp.
