CAUTION, IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

This portable luminaire has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other) as a feature to
reduce the risk of electrical shock. This plug will fit a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does
not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician.

Never use with an extension cord unless plug can be fully inserted. Do not alter the plug.

INSTRUCTIONS PERTAINING TO A RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC
SHOCK, EXPOSURE TO EXCESSIVE UV RADIATION OR
INJURY TO PERSONS

WARNING - To reduce the risk of FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK,
EXPOSURE TO EXCESSIVE UV RADIATION OR INJURY TO
PERSONS:

1. Turn off power/unplug and allow to cool before replacing bulb.

2. Bulb gets HOT quickly. Contact only switch/plug when turning on.

3. Do not touch hot lens, guard or enclosure.

4. Do not remain in light if skin feels warm.

5. Do not look directly at lighted lamp.

6. Keep lamp away from materials that burn.

7. Use only with a 60 Watt or smaller bulb.

8. Do not touch the bulb at any time. Use a soft cloth. Oil from skin may damage bulb.

9. Do not operate the portable luminaire with a missing or damaged guard, lamp containment
barrier or UV filter.

Your lamp comes fully assembled with the bulbs and glass shields in place. After installation of
the glass shade, your lamp will be fully operational. Please make sure that the following parts for
your lamp are enclosed:

A. Lamp
B. Bulb (60 Watt Xenon - Clear, 2 each)
C. Glass shields (2 each)
D. Glass shade

INSTALL THE GLASS SHADE

1. Located at the top of the column is a finished cap that is
held onto the column with a spring clip. Remove this finished
cap by pulling it upwards.

2. Underneath the finished cap is a small screw ring that is
used to hold the glass shade in place. Turn this small ring
counterclockwise to remove.

3. Place the center hole of the glass shade over the column
and tighten the screw ring over the glass. Put the finished cap
on the glass shade and press into place. Your lamp is now
operational.

CHANGE THE SHIELD

1. The glass shield is held in place with a spring clip on
each side. To remove it, pull it gently from the clip.

2. To replace it, put one side of the shield in the spring
clip and insert it into the opposite side. NOTE: The glass
shield should cover and rest on the set screw, which is located on the socket.

CHANGE THE BULB

NOTE: BE CAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH THE BULB ENVELOPE WITH YOUR BARE HANDS.

1. Remove the glass shield.

2. Unscrew the old bulb and replace it with a new bulb, being careful not to touch the bulb
with your bare hands.

3. Replace the glass shield.

Use only a soft, dry cloth to clean. If necessary, a slightly damp, soft cloth may be used to spot

clean. Do not use common household cleaners or brass cleaners on lamps or fixtures, as the

lacquer on the outside of the brass may be damaged as a result. Enjoy your new Holtkötter lamp.
