TROUBLESHOOTING

CLEANING/MAINTENANCE

Always unplug the heater before cleaning and allow the
heater to cool down.

1. Clean the unit with a soft cloth moistened with a mild
soap and water solution.

2. NEVER use abrasive or flammable solvents to clean
the unit.

3. After cleaning, be sure to completely dry the unit
with a cloth or towel.

4. Store heater in a cool, dry location.

5. It is recommended that you store the unit in its
original carton.

SHUT-OFF AND TIP OVER PROTECTION

This heater is equipped with a shut-off system that may
require the user to reset the heater if a potential internal
overheat temperature is reached within the heater.

WARNING: the shut-off system does not provide
overheat protection for, or prevent a fire resulting from,
combustibles placed in close proximity to the heater.
Combustibles placed within 3 feet (0.9m) of the heater
will ignite and cause a fire, and may cause death.

If the heater shuts off, the user will need to reset the heater by:

1) Stand the heater upright and turn the heat control to

the OFF position.

2) Unplug the unit and allow 30 minutes for the heater

to cool down.

3) Plug in and operate normally.

4) If heater does not work normally, repeat steps 1-3 to

allow sufficient time for the thermostat to cool down.

Tip Over Protection (if equipped)

When the unit is accidentally knocked over, it will
instantly shut off. The unit may also shut off if it is
moved or bumped. To reset, simply place the heater in an
upright position and it will operate normally.

NOTE: If unit does not turn on when placed in the
upright position, turn the heat control to OFF and then
back to ON and heater will resume operation.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If your heater fails to operate:

• The temperature may be set too low. Adjust the
thermostat until heater restarts or press the MODE
Button to either HI or LO setting for constant heat.

• Turn the heater OFF and UNPLUG THE HEATER.

• Make sure the electrical outlet or circuit breaker is
working.

• Check for obstructions. If you find an obstruction turn
the heater OFF, and unplug the unit. Carefully
remove the obstruction and follow the reset
instructions.

Please DO NOT attempt to open or repair the
heater. Any servicing should be performed by an
authorized service representative.

Limited doing business as Jarden Consumer Solutions (collectively “JCS”) warrants that for a period of one year from
the date of purchase, this product will be free from defects in material and workmanship. JCS, at its option, will repair
or replace this product or any component of the product found to be defective during the warranty period.
Replacement will be made with a new or remanufactured product or component. If the product is no longer available,
replacement may be made with a similar product of equal or greater value. This is your exclusive warranty. Do NOT
attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical functions on this product. Doing so will void this warranty.

This warranty is valid for the original retail purchaser from the date of initial retail purchase and is not transferable.
Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of purchase is required to obtain warranty performance. JCS dealers, service
centers, or retail stores selling JCS products do not have the right to alter, modify or any way change the terms and
conditions of this warranty.

This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of the following: negligent use or
misuse of the product, use on improper voltage or current, use contrary to the operating instructions, disassembly,
repair or alteration by anyone other than JCS or an authorized JCS service center. Further, the warranty does not
cover: Acts of God, such as fire, flood, hurricanes and tornadoes.

What are the limits on JCS’s Liability?

JCS shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages caused by the breach of any express, implied or
statutory warranty or condition. Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty or condition
of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose is limited in duration to the duration of the above warranty. JCS
disclaims all other warranties, conditions or representations, express, implied, statutory or otherwise. JCS shall not be
liable for any damages of any kind resulting from the purchase, use or misuse of, or inability to use the product
including incidental, special, consequential or similar damages or loss of profits, or for any breach of contract,
fundamental or otherwise, or for any claim brought against purchaser by any other party.

Some provinces, states or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages
or limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations or exclusion may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from province to province,

APAGADO Y PROTECCIÓN DE CAÍDA
HACIA DELANTE O HACIA ATRÁS

Este calentador está equipado con un sistema de apagado
automático que puede requerir al usuario reiniciar el
calentador si existe la posibilidad de producirse un
sobrecalentamiento interno.

ADVERTENCIA: El sistema de apagado automático no
provee protección contra sobrecalentamiento para, ni
previene un incendio resultando de, los combustibles
colocados a una proximidad cercana al calentador. Los
combustibles colocados a una distancia menos de 3 pies
(0.9m) del calentador, se incendiarán y causarán un fuego
y podrían ocasionar la muerte.

Si el calentador se apaga, el usuario tendrá que reiniciar el
calentador de la siguiente manera:

1) Coloque el calentador en posición vertical y gire el
control de calor a la posición de apagado (OFF).

2) Desenchufe la unidad y espere 30 minutos para que el
calentador se enfríe.

3) Enchufe y utilice normalmente.

4) Si el calentador no funciona normalmente, repita los

Cuando la unidad se deja caer accidentalmente, se apagará

instantáneamente. La unidad también se podría apagar si
es movida o empujada. Para reiniciar, simplemente coloque
el calentador en posición vertical y comenzará a funcionar
normalmente.

NOTA: Si la unidad no se enciende cuando es colocada en
posición vertical, gire el control de calor a la posición de

el calentador volverá a funcionar.

SI SU CALEFACTOR NO FUNCIONA

Para volver a prender el calefactor:

• El termostato puede estar ajustado demasiado bajo.
Regule el termostato hasta que el calefactor reanude
o presione el Botón MODO para configurar en HI
(Alto) o LO (Bajo) para un calor constante.

• APAGUE el calefactor y DESENCHÚFELO.

• Asegúrese de que el tomacorriente o llave térmica
funcionen correctamente.

• Verifique que no haya ninguna obstrucción. Si

FEATURES - OPERATIONS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions
should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire,
electric shock, and/or injury to persons. Failure to follow
these warnings will cause death, personal injury and/or
property damage:

1. Read all instructions before using this heater.

2. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not
let bare skin touch hot surfaces. If provided, use
handles when moving this heater. Keep combustible
materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers,
clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9m) from the
front of the heater and keep them away from the
sides and rear. Failure to keep combustibles at least
3 feet away from the heater will cause a fire. Never
place any object such that it can fall within 3 feet of
heater.

3. This appliance is not to be used by children or by
persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities.

4. Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is
used near children. Children should not play with the
appliance.

5. Always unplug heater when not in use.

6. Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or
plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been
dropped or damaged in any manner. Discard heater,
or return to authorized service facility for
examination and/or repair. Do not attempt to
replace or splice a damaged cord.

7. Do not use outdoors.

8. Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord
with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Do not
route cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange
cord away from traffic area and where it will not be
tripped over.

9. To disconnect heater, turn controls to off, then remove
plug from outlet, pulling by the plug, not the cord.

10. If your heater comes with a grounded plug, connect
to properly grounded outlets only.

11. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any
ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an
electric shock, fire, and/or damage to the heater.

12. To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or
exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces,
like a bed, where openings may become blocked.

13. Stop use of the heater if it has arcing or sparking
parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline,
paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.

14. Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any
other use not recommended by the manufacturer
may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.

15. Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/
receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or
relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip)..

16. Models without thermostat control: This heater is not
equipped with a device to control the room
temperature. Do not use this heater in small rooms
when they are occupied by persons not capable of
leaving the room on their own, unless constant
supervision is provided.

17. Never use while sleeping.

18. Do not use with a programmer, timer, wireless plug
adapter or outlet that allows control remotely, or
connect to a circuit that is regularly switched on and
off by the utility.

19. This appliance has no user serviceable parts. Do not
attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical
functions. Doing so may cause an electric shock, fire and/
or cause injuries, and void your warranty. All servicing
should be performed by qualified personnel only.

20. Discontinue use if plug or outlet is hot. Contact a
qualified electrician to inspect and replace the outlet
if plug or outlet is hot to touch.

21. Do not place the heater near a bed because objects
such as pillows, blankets and the like can fall off the
bed and be ignited by the heater.

22. Do not plug in more than one heater per outlet.
Never plug heater into an outlet that also contains a
light socket. Never exceed more than one heater per
panel circuit breaker / fuse. Never allow the heat
from the heater to point towards an outlet.

23. This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms,
laundry areas and similar indoor locations. Never
locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or
other water container.

24. Do not use this heater in the immediate surroundings
of a bath, a shower, a swimming pool, or any other
wet location.

HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY

North American models with polarized plugs:

This appliance has a polarized plug, (one
blade is wider than the other). As a safety
feature to reduce the risk of electrical

shock, this plug is intended to fit in a
polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully
in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat
this safety feature or modify the plug in any way. If the
plug fits loosely into the AC outlet or if the AC outlet feels
warm do not use that outlet.

North American models with grounded plugs:

This heater is for use on 120 volts. The cord has a plug
as shown in the figure below. An adapter as shown at C
is available for connecting three-blade grounding-type
plugs to two-slot receptacles. The green grounding lug
extending from the adapter must be connected to a
permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet
box. The adapter should not be used if a three-slot
grounded receptacle is available.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Carefully remove your heater from the box. Please
save the carton for off-season storage.

2. Place heater on a firm, level surface.

3. Plug heater into a standard outlet. Once plugged in,
the Power Light will illuminate.

NOTE: Avoid overloading your circuit by not using other
high wattage appliances in the same outlet. At 1500
watts, this unit draws 12.5 Amps.

4. Press the Power Button

Mode Control

Press the MODE Button to select the desired heat settings.
Each press of the button will cycle through the below
settings and the selected setting will appear on the LCD:

HI - HIGH Heat

The heater will run continuously at 1500W.

LO - LOW Heat

The heater will run continuously at 750W.

EC - Eco-Smart

The heater will now cycle between high (at 1500W) and
low (at 750W) heat settings to provide heat.

NOTE: To shut unit off at any time, press the Power
Button

Thermostat Control

The next press of the Mode Button will activate the
thermostat setting, and the LCD will display "80°" as the
default temperature setting.

Your heater is equipped with a digital thermostat that
allows you to set your heater to a precise comfort level
(65 °F-85 °F) by pressing the Up ( ) and Down ( )
Button on the control panel. The LCD Display will show
the selected temperature reading. When the preset
temperature is reached, the heater will shut off. When
the room temperature drops below the preset

FrostProtect™ Setting

Your heater is equipped with a FrostProtect™ setting.
The heater will turn on automatically when the room
temperature drops below 40°F. To activate the
FrostProtect™ setting, press the Down ( ) button
until the LCD Display show “40” and the

FrostProtect™ icon ( ) will appear on the LCD
Display.

NOTE: To shut unit off at any time, press the Power
Button

until LCD Display goes OFF.

NOTE: It is normal for the heater to cycle ON and OFF as
it maintains the preset temperature. To prevent the unit
from cycling, you need to change the thermostat setting.
The digital thermostat has memory; it will remember the
last temperature setting before the heater is turned off.
However, if the heater is unplugged, the digital
thermostat will no longer remember the previous
temperature setting. You will need to reset the digital
thermostat if the heater is unplugged.

PRECAUCIONES IMPORTANTES DE SEGURIDAD

Cuando se utilizan aparatos eléctricos, siempre se debe
seguir precauciones básicas de seguridad para reducir el
riesgo de incendio, descarga eléctrica y/o lesiones
personales. El dejar de observar estas advertencias causará
la muerte, lesión personal y/o daños a la propiedad:

1. Lea todas las instrucciones antes de utilizar el
calentador.

2. El calentador se calienta cuando está en uso. Para
evitar quemaduras, no toque ninguna superficie
caliente. Si asas son provistas, utilícelas cuando mueva
este calentador. Mantenga los materiales combustibles
tale s como los muebles, las almohadas, la ropa de
cama, los papeles y las cortinas a una distancia
mínima de 3 pies (0.9 m) de la parte frontal del
calentador y manténgalos lejos de los costados y la
parte posterior. El no mantener los materiales
combustibles a una distancia mínima de 3 pies del
calentador, causará un incendio. Nunca coloque ningún
objeto de tal manera que pueda caerse a una distancia
menos de 3 pies del calentador.

3. Este aparato no debe ser utilizado por los niños ni por
personas con su capacidad física, sensorial o psíquica
reducida.

4. Todo calentador utilizado cerca de los niños requiere
proceder con extrema precaución. Los niños no deben
jugar con el aparato.

5. Siempre desenchufe el calentador cuando no esté en
uso.

6. No opere ningún calentador que tenga un cable o
enchufe dañado o después de una falla en el
funcionamiento, de caerse o sufrir cualquier tipo de
daño. Deseche el calentador o devuélvalo al centro de
servicio para que su revisión y/o reparación. No trate
de reemplazar o cortar un cable dañado.

7. No utilizar a la intemperie.

8. No coloque el cable debajo de la alfombra. No cubra
el cable con alfombras, tapetes o artículos similares.
No pase el cable por debajo de los muebles o
electrodomésticos. Coloque el cable lejos de áreas de
tráfico y donde no se tropiece con él.

9. Para desconectar el calentador, gire todo control a la
posición de apagado (Off), luego retire el enchufe del
tomacorriente, tirando del enchufe no del cable.

10. Si su calentador viene equipado con un enchufe de
conexión a tierra, conéctelo solamente a
tomacorrientes adecuados para conexión a tierra.

11. No inserte ni permita que objetos extraños penetren
en la ventilación o salida de aire ya que esto puede
causar una descarga eléctrica, un incendio, y/o daño
al calentador.

12. Para evitar un posible incendio, no obstruya las
entradas o salidas aire de manera alguna. No utilice el
calentador sobre una superficie suave, como una
cama, ya que podría obstruir las entradas de aire.

13. Deje de utilizar el calentador si tiene partes calientes
que puedan producir chispas en su interior. NO lo
utilice en áreas donde se utiliza o almacena gasolina,
pintura o líquidos inflamables.

14. Utilice este calentador sólo como se describe en este
manual. Cualquier otro uso no recomendado por el
fabricante puede provocar incendios, descargas
eléctricas o lesiones a personas.

15. Siempre conecte los calentadores directamente a un
tomacorriente de pared. Nunca lo use con un cable de
extensión o con un tomacorriente múltiple.

16. Modelos sin control de termostato: Este calentador no
está equipado con un dispositivo para controlar la
temperatura ambiente. No utilice este calentador en
habitaciones pequeñas cuando están ocupadas por
personas incapacitadas para salir de la habitación por
si solas, a no ser que estén supervisadas
constantemente.

17. Nunca utilice el calentador mientras duerme.

18. No utilice con un dispositivo programador, reloj
contador de tiempo, adaptador de enchufe inalámbrico
o un tomacorriente que permita el control remoto, ni
conecte a un circuíto que se encienda o apague a
través de una red eléctrica.

19. Este aparato no tiene piezas que deban ser reparadas
por el usuario. No intente reparar o ajustar ninguna
función eléctrica o mecánica. El hacerlo, podría
ocasionar una descarga eléctrica, un incendio y/o
lesiones, y anular su garantía. Toda reparación debe
ser realizada solamente por personal calificado.

20. Deje de utilizar el aparato si el enchufe o el
tomacorriente se calienta. Comuníquese con un
electricista calificado para inspeccionar y reemplazar el
tomacorriente si el enchufe o tomacorriente está
demasiado caliente para tocarlo.

21. No coloque el calentador cerca de una cama ya que
artículos como las almohadas, frazadas y similares
pueden caerse de la cama e incendiarse.

PRECAUCIONES IMPORTANTES DE SEGURIDAD

22. No enchufe más de un calentador por tomacorriente.
Nunca enchufe el calentador a un tomacorriente que
también contenga un tomacorriente para lámpara.
Nunca exceda más de un calentador por panel de
interruptor de circuito eléctrico / fusible. Nunca
permita que el calor del calentador apunte hacia un
tomacorriente.

23. Este calentador no está diseñado para utilizarse en
baños, áreas de lavandería ni localidades similares.
Nunca coloque el calentador donde pueda caerse
dentro de una bañera ni ningún otro recipiente que
contenga agua.

24. No utilice este calentador en áreas cercanas a un
baño, una ducha, una piscina ni nungún otro lugar
mojado.

Modelos norteamericanos con enchufes de
conexión a tierra:

Este calentador está diseñado para ser utilizado con 120
voltios. El cable cuenta con un enchufe como es mostrado
en la figura de abajo. Un adaptador mostrado en la
figura C está disponible para conectar enchufes de tierra
con tres contactos a receptáculos con dos ranuras. La
lengüeta de conexión a tierra verde que se extiende
desde el adaptador, debe estar conectada a tierra de
forma permanente tal como una caja de tomacorriente
debidamente conectado a tierra. El adaptador no debe ser
utilizado si un receptáculo de tierra con tres ranuras es
disponible.

Modelos norteamericanos con enchufes polarizados:

Este electrodoméstico tiene un enchufe
polarizado (un contacto es más ancho que el
otro). Para reducir el riesgo de descargas

eléctricas, como una función de seguridad,
este enchufe está diseñado para encajar en un tomacorriente
polarizado solo de una forma. Si el enchufe no se inserta
completamente en el tomacorriente, invierta el enchufe. Si
aún no encaja, consulte a un electricista calificado. No intente
ignorar esta medida de seguridad ni modificar el enchufe en
forma alguna. Si el enchufe se inserta holgadamente en el
tomacorriente de corriente alterna o si el tomacorriente de
corriente alterna se siente caliente, no utilice ese

INSTRUCCIONES DE USO

1. Saque cuidadosamente el calefactor de la caja.
Conserve la caja para guardarlo en el verano.

2. Coloque el calefactor en una superficie firma y
nivelada.

3. Enchufe el calefactor a un tomacorriente estándar.
Una vez enchufado, se encenderá la luz de
encendido.

NOTA: Evite sobrecargar el circuito; no use otros

dispositivos de alto vatiaje en el mismo tomacorriente. A
1500 Vatios, esta unidad consume 12,5 Amperes.

4. Presione el botón Encender
funcionar.

Control de modo

Presione el botón MODO para seleccionar las
configuraciones de calor deseadas. Cada vez que presione
el botón pasará por las configuraciones a continuación y
la configuración seleccionada aparecerá en el visor LCD:

HI - Calor Alto

El calefactor funcionará continuamente a 1500 W.

LO - Calor Bajo

El calefactor funcionará continuamente a 750 W.

EC - Eco-Smart

El calefactor pasará ahora entre las configuraciones del
calefactor alto (a 1500 Vatios) y bajo (a 750 Vatios) para
brindar calor.

NOTA: Para apagar el dispositivo en cualquier momento,
presione el botón Encendido

se apague.

Control de termostato

La próxima vez que presione el botón Modo activará la
configuración de termostato y el visor LCD mostrará
“80°” como la configuración de temperatura
predeterminada. El calefactor se encuentra equipado con
un termostato digital que le permite configurar el
calefactor al nivel de confort preciso (65 °F-85 °F)
presionando el botón Subir ( ) y Bajar ( ) en el

panel de control. El visor LCD mostrará la temperatura
seleccionada. Cuando el calefactor alcance la temperatura
predeterminada, se apagará. Cuando la temperatura
ambiente esté por debajo de la temperatura
preestablecida, el calefactor se encenderá nuevamente de
manera automática a fin de mantener el nivel de
temperatura preestablecido.

Configuración FrostProtect™

El calefactor se encuentra equipado con FrostProtect™
configuración. El calefactor se encenderá de manera

automática cuando la temperatura ambiente baje a
menos de 40 ºF. Para activar el FrostProtect™
configuración, presione el botón Bajar ( ) hasta que el

Visor LCD muestre “40” y el ícono FrostProtect™ ( )
desaparecerá en el Visor LCD.

NOTA: Para apagar el calefactor cualquiera sea la
configuración, presione el botón Encendido ( ) hasta
que el visor LCD se apague.

NOTA: Es normal que el calefactor se encienda y apague

intermitentemente mientras mantiene la temperatura
seleccionada. Para evitar que la unidad se encienda y
apague, debe aumentar el ajuste del termostato. El
termostato digital tiene memoria. Registrará la última
configuración de temperatura antes que se apague el
