1.1 Gültigkeit, Aufbewahrung und Weitergabe der Anleitung
Diese Anleitung gilt für den Alpha IP Bewegungsmelder mit Dämmerungssensor – innen (SMI 63001). Sie enthält Informationen, die für die
Inbetriebnahme und Bedienung notwendig sind. Bevor mit dem Gerät
gearbeitet wird, ist diese Anleitung vollständig und gründlich zu lesen.
Die Anleitung ist aufzubewahren und an nachfolgende Benutzer weiterzugeben.
Diese Anleitung sowie zusätzliche Alpha IP Systeminformationen sind
stets aktuell unter www.alphaip.de zu finden.
Systeminformationen, Funktionen und Bedienschritte aus der Anleitung
des Alpha IP Access Point (HAP 2001) sind zu berücksichtigen.

2 Sicherheit
2.1 Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Der Alpha IP Bewegungsmelder mit Dämmerungssensor – innen ist eine
Systemkomponente des Alpha IP Systems und dient
• der Installation in wohnungsähnlichen Umgebungen,
• der Erkennung von Bewegungen und der Umgebungshelligkeit,
• als Komponente für Alpha IP Sicherheitsanwendungen,
• der drahtlosen Verbindung und Kommunikation weiterer Alpha IP
Komponenten.
Jegliche andere Verwendung, Änderungen und Umbauten sind ausdrücklich untersagt. Eine nicht bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung führt zu
Gefahren, für die der Hersteller nicht haftet und zum Gewährleistungsund Haftungsausschluss.
2.2 Sicherheitshinweise
Zur Vermeidung von Unfällen mit Personen- und Sachschäden sind alle
Sicherheitshinweise in dieser Anleitung zu beachten. Für Personen- und
Sachschäden, die durch unsachgemäße Handhabung oder Nichtbeachten der Gefahrenhinweise verursacht werden, wird keine Haftung übernommen. In solchen Fällen erlischt jeder Gewährleistungsanspruch. Für
Folgeschäden wird keine Haftung übernommen.
• Das Gerät nur in technisch einwandfreiem Zustand verwenden.
• Die Leistungsgrenzen des Gerätes und dessen Umgebungsbedingun-
gen einhalten.
• Das Gerät nur in trockener sowie staubfreier Umgebung betreiben.
• Das Gerät keinem Einfluss von Feuchtigkeit, Vibrationen, ständiger
Sonnen- oder anderer Wärmeeinstrahlung, Kälte oder mechanischen

FunktionAlpha IP SMI 63001
3 Funktion
Der Bewegungsmelder mit Dämmerungssensor – innen (SMI 63001) erfasst Bewegungen und die Umgebungshelligkeit in Innenräumen innerhalb der Erfassungsreichweite von 12 Metern. Der Erfassungsbereich hat
einen Erfassungswinkel von 105° horizontal und 40° vertikal.
Damit kann der Bewegungsmelder sowohl für Sicherheitsanwendungen
als auch für die Lichtschaltung eingesetzt werden. Dabei wird über die
Bewegungserkennung in Verbindung mit anderen Alpha IP Geräten der
Alarm ausgelöst bzw. angeschlossene Verbraucher (z.B. Leuchten) aktiviert.
Kurzfristige Helligkeitsschwankungen werden ausgefiltert, sodass unbeabsichtigtes Ansprechen verhindert wird. Die Auslösehelligkeit und Ansprech-Empfindlichkeit ist über die Alpha IP App konfigurierbar.
Bei Sabotage- oder Demontageversuchen des Bewegungsmelders wird
ein Alarmsignal an die App weitergeleitet.
Die Kommunikation mit anderen Komponenten erfolgt über das Homematic (HmIP) Funkprotokoll. Die Funk-Übertragung wird auf einem nicht
exklusiven Übertragungsweg realisiert, weshalb Störungen nicht ausgeschlossen werden können. Störeinflüsse können z.B. hervorgerufen werden durch Schaltvorgänge, Elektromotoren oder defekte Elektrogeräte.
Die Reichweite in Gebäuden kann stark von der im Außenbereich (Freifeld) abweichen.

5 Inbetriebnahme
5.1 Gerät anlernen
Vor Funktionsfähigkeit des SMI 63001 muss die Integration in das Alpha
IP System über den Access Point (HAP 21001) erfolgen. Dazu wird das
Gerät wie folgt angelernt.
Ö Der Alpha IP Access Point ist über die Alpha IP App eingerichtet.
1. Die Alpha IP App auf dem Smartphone öffnen.
2. Den Menüpunkt Gerät Anlernen auswählen.
3. Das Batteriefach öffnen (vgl. Abb. links).
4. Den Isolierstreifen aus dem Batteriefach herausziehen. Der Anlern-
modus wird automatisch für 3 Minuten aktiviert.
Der Anlernmodus ist manuell über die Systemtaste (vgl. „Geräteübersicht“ auf Seite 6) für 3 Min. aktivierbar.
5. Das Gerät erscheint automatisch in der App.
6. Zur Bestätigung des Anlernvorgangs die letzten vier Ziffern der Gerä-
tenummer (SGTIN) in der App eingeben oder den beiliegenden QRCode Scannen. Die Gerätenummer befindet sich auf der Rückseite.
Nach einem erfolgreichen Anlernvorgang leuchtet die LED grün. Leuchtet die LED rot, den Vorgang wiederholen.
9 Der Funktionstest startet.
Der Funktionstest startet nach einem erfolgreichen Anlernvorgang für
10 Minuten. Die Geräte-LED leuchtet bei Bewegungserkennung durch
die PIR-Linse rot auf. Der Erfassungsbereich und die Empfindlichkeit
können so direkt geprüft werden. Nach Ablauf der Zeit wechselt das
Gerät in die individuell eingestellte Konfiguration.

5.2 Montage
Der Bewegungsmelder wird mit dem Standfuß (D) platziert oder an Wänden und Ecken mit der Wandhalterung (E) montiert. Bei der Verwendung
des Standfußes wird das Gerät nach der Inbetriebnahme und Schließen
des Batteriefaches an der gewünschten Stelle platziert. Die Montage mit
der Wandhalterung erfolgt abhängig vom Untergrund mit den mitgelieferten doppelseitigen Klebestreifen oder mit den mitgelieferten Schrauben.
5.2.1 Montageort auswählen

Für die Auswahl eines geeigneten Montageortes folgende Voraussetzungen beachten:
• Die Erfassungsreichweite beträgt bis zu 12 Meter. Der Erfassungs-
winkel beträgt 105° horizontal und 40° vertikal.
• Das Gerät filtert kurzfristige Helligkeitsschwankungen aus. Unbeab-
sichtigtes Ansprechen wird dadurch verhindert.
• Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise beachten (vgl. „Sicherheitshinweise“
auf Seite 4).
5.2.2 Mit Schrauben montieren
WARNUNG
Personenschaden durch elektrischen Schlag!
Wird beim Bohren während der Wandmontage eine stromführende Leitung beschädigt, besteht die Gefahr eines elektrischen Schlages.
¾ Den Montageort vor der Bohrung auf Leitungen prüfen.
¾ Sicherstellen, dass sich keine Leitung an der zu bohrende Stelle befinden.
¾ Gegebenenfalls den Montageort wechseln.
Die Montage mit der Wandhalterung und Schrauben ist an Wänden oder
in Ecken möglich.

1. Eine geeignete Montageposition auswählen.
2. Sicherstellen, dass keine Leitungen an der Position verlaufen.
3. Bohrlöcher anzeichnen. (F) bei Montage an der Wand, (G) bei Mon-
tage in einer Ecke.
Vor der Montage in einer Ecke die Bohrlöcher der Wandhalterung (G)
mit einem 4-mm-Bohrer durchbohren.
4. Bei Steinwänden die vorgezeichneten Löcher mit einem 5 mm Stein-
bohrer bohren.

Bei Holzwänden können die Schrauben direkt eingeschraubt werden.
Eine Bohrung mit einem 1,5 mm Holzbohrer kann das Eindrehen der
Schrauben erleichtern.
5. Die Dübel in die Bohrung einsetzen.
6. Die Wandhalterung mittels der mitgelieferten Schrauben montieren.
7. Den Bewegungsmelder auf die Wandhalterung setzen.
5.2.3 Mit Klebestreifen montieren
Die Montage mit der Wandhalterung und Klebestreifen ist auf unterschiedlichen Untergründen wie z. B. Mauerwerk, Möbeln, Fliesen oder
Glas möglich.
Ö Die Inbetriebnahme ist durchgeführt.
1. Eine geeignete Montageposition auswählen.
Bei einer Montage mit Klebestreifen muss der Untergrund des Montageortes glatt, eben, unbeschädigt, sauber, fett- und lösungsmittelfrei
sein.
2. Die Schutzfolie von einer Seite des Klebestreifens entfernen.
3. Die Klebestreifen nach gewählter Montageposition an der Wandhal-
terung aufkleben.

Bei der Montage an einer Wand werden die Klebestreifen an der mittleren Klebefläche der Wandhalterung aufgeklebt (siehe Abb. links, I),
bei der Montage in Ecken an den beiden äußeren Klebeflächen (siehe
Abb. links, II).
4. Die Schutzfolie von der zweiten Seite des Klebestreifens entfernen.
5. Die Wandhalterung an der gewünschten Position ausrichten und fest-
drücken.
6. Den Bewegungsmelder auf die Wandhalterung setzen.

6 Bedienung
Nach dem Anlernen und der Montage des Gerätes erfolgt die Konfiguration für z.B. Sicherheitsanwendungen oder den Dämmerungssensor
über die Alpha IP App.

Durch Herstellen der Werkseinstellungen gehen alle vorgenommenen
Einstellungen verloren.
1. Das Batteriefach öffnen (vgl. „Gerät anlernen“ auf Seite 7).
2. Die Batterien entnehmen.
3. Die Batterien entsprechend der Markierung in das Batteriefach wieder einsetzen. Gleichzeitig die Systemtaste (vgl. „Geräteübersicht“
auf Seite 6) für 4 Sekunden gedrückt halten, bis die LED schnell
orange blinkt.
4. Die Systemtaste loslassen.
5. Die Systemtaste weitere 4 Sekunden drücken, bis die LED grün aufleuchtet.
6. Die Systemtaste wieder loslassen.
9 Das Gerät führt einen Neustart durch.
9 Die Werkseinstellungen sind wiederhergestellt.

for commissioning and operating. These instructions must the read completely and thoroughly before commencing any work with the device.
These instructions must be kept and handed over to future users.

2.1 Intended use
The Motion Detector with Brightness Sensor – Indoor is a system component of the Alpha IP system and serves
• for installation in environments of residential use,
• for the detection of motion and ambient brightness,
• as a component for Alpha IP security applications,
• for the wireless connection of further Alpha IP components and the
communication with these

3 Function
The Motion Sensor with Twilight Sensor – Indoor (SMI 63001) detects
motion and ambient brightness indoors within a detection range of 12
metres. The detection range has a detection angle of 105° in horizontal
and 40° in vertical direction.
Thus, the motion sensor can be applied for security applications as well
as for light switching purposes. In conjunction with other Alpha IP devices, the motion control can switch connected consumers (e. g. lamps)
or generate alarms.
Short-termed brightness variations are filtered out, preventing unintended reactions. The triggering brightness and reaction sensitivity can be
configured via the Alpha IP app.
In case of intended sabotage or removal of the motion sensor, an alarm
signal is sent to the app.
Communication with other components is performed via the Homematic
(HmIP) radio protocol. Radio transmission is realised on a non-exclusive
transmission path; thus, interference cannot be completely excluded.
Interference can be caused e. g. by switching processes, electric motors
or defective electric appliances.
The range inside buildings can be strongly different from the range in
open air.

5 Commissioning
5.1 Teach-in of the device
Prior to operating the SMI 63001, it must be integrated into the Alpha
IP system via the Access Point (HAP 21001). For this, teach-in the respective device as follows.
Ö The Alpha IP Access Point has been set up via the Alpha IP app.
1. Open the Alpha IP app on your smart phone.
2. Select the menu item Teach-in device.
3. Open the battery compartment (see figure on the left).
4. Remove the insulating strip from the battery compartment. The teachin mode is automatically activated for three minutes.
The teach-in mode can be activated manually for 3 minutes via the
system key (see „Device overview“ page 20).
5. The device will be displayed automatically in the app.
6. For confirmation of the teach-in process, enter the last four digits of
the device number (SGTIN) in the app or scan the supplied QR code.
The device number can be found on the back side of the device.
The LED will light up in green after a successful teach-in process. The
process must be repeated if the LED lights up in red.
9 The function test starts.
The function test starts for a duration of 10 minutes after a successful
teach-in process. When the PIR lens detects any motion, the device LED
lights up. This allows a direct test of detection range and sensitivity.
When the time has elapsed, the device changes to the individually set
configuration.
7. Follow the directions of the Alpha IP app.

5.2 Installation
The motion sensor is placed with its base (D), or installed in to walls and
in corners using the wall-mounted support. If the base is used, the device
must be placed to the desired location after commissioning and closing
the battery compartment. Depending on the mounting surface, installation with the wall-mounted support can be effected with the supplied
double-sided adhesive tape or with the supplied screws.
5.2.1 Selection of installation place

Observe the following preconditions for selecting a suitable installation
place:
• The detection range is up to 12 metres. The detection angle is 105°
in horizontal and 40° in vertical direction.
• The device filters out short-terms brightness variations. This avoids
unintended triggering.
• Please observe the general safety notes(see „Safety notes“ page
18).
5.2.2 Installation with screws
WARNING
Personal injury by electric shock!
If a live wire is damaged during drilling work, there is danger of electric
shock.
¾ Inspect the installation place for wires prior to drilling.

Installation with wall-mount support and screws is possible on walls
and in corners.

1. Select a suitable installation position.
2. Ensure that no lines are laid at this position.
3. Mark the drilling holes. (F) for installation to the wall, (G) for installation to a corner.
Prior to installation in a corner, drill through the drilling holes of the
wall-mount support with a 4 mm drill.

4. For stone walls, drill the marked holes with a 5 mm masonry drill.

If e. g. wooden windows are present, the screws can be directly screwed
into the wood. Pre-drilling with a 1.5 mm wood drill facilitates the screw
installation.
5. Insert the dowels into the bores.
6. Install the wall-mount support with the supplied screws.
7. Position the motion sensor to the wall-mount support.
5.2.3 Installation with adhesive strips
Installation with the wall-mount support and adhesive strips is possible
on different surfaces as e. g. masonry, furniture, tiles, or glass.
Ö The commissioning has been performed.
1. Select a suitable installation position.
In case of installation with adhesive strips the installation surface must
be even, smooth, undamaged, clean, and free from grease and solvents.
2. Remove the protective foil from one side of the adhesive strip.
3. After choosing the installation position, attach the adhesive strip to
the wall-mount support.

In case of installation to a wall, attach the adhesive strips to the centre
fixing surface of the wall-mount support (see figure on the left, I); in
case of installation in a corner, attach them to the two outer fixing surfaces (see figure on the left, II).
4. Remove the protective foil from the other side of the adhesive strip.
5. Align the wall-mount support at the desired position and press it
onto the surface.
6. Position the motion sensor to the wall-mount support.

6 Operation
After the teaching-in and the installation of the device, the configuration for e. g. security applications or the twilight sensor is performed
via the Alpha IP app.
7 Displays
The LED of the system key of the device signalises the device status by
means of light and flashing patterns.

8 Changing batteries
Flashing codes at the device (see „Displays“ page 24), or the symbol
in the Alpha IP app, signalises low battery voltage. Replace the batteries.
9 Cleaning
Clean the device with a soft, clean, dry, and lint-free cloth. The cloth may
be moistened with lukewarm water for the removal of heavier contamination. Use a solvent-free cleaning agent for cleaning.

10 Resetting factory settings
All settings will be lost when the factory settings are restored.
1. Open the battery compartment (see „Teach-in of the device“ page 21).
2. Remove the battery.
3. Insert the battery into the battery compartment according to the marking and simultaneously press the system key for 4 seconds until the
LED flashes quickly in orange.
4. Release the System key.
5. Press the System key again for 4 seconds until the LED lights up in green.
6. Release the System key again.
9 The device restarts.

11 Decommissioning
1. Open the battery compartment.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Dispose of the device properly.
12 Disposal
Do not dispose of the device with domestic waste!
