Hochiki YBN-UA Recess Base Adaptor
The YBN-UA is a Recess Base adaptor which allows detect or s /sensors from the CDX/ASX range to be
flush mounted, this is particular ly s uited to where unobtrus iv e detection is required.
Compatibility
The YBN-UA will allow mos t types of mounting bas es to be fit ted, please f ind below a list of compatible
base types.

Each base type has been des igned in ac c or danc e with local standards and m ay not necessarily be
suitable for use on any A lar m Control Panel. Check c om patibility with t he A lar m Control Panel
manufacturer before installat ion.
Installation
To install the YBN-UA, a YYA-A fixing kit s hould be obtained this consists of the parts shown below.

Firstly a hole with a diameter of 115m m should be cut in the ceiling tile. The press ur e c lam ps should
then be fitt ed to the YBN-UA in a v er tical position using the screw fitt ings and the fixing screws , refer to
fig.1. T he nex t step is to pull the cables through and fi t the YBN-UA int o the hole in the ceiling and whilst
looking through the Reces s A daptor cable hole, loosen t he s c r ews until the pressure c lamps lower into
place refer to fig.2. Re-t ighten the bracket s c r ews until the pressure c lam ps are fixed in the horiz ontal
position.

Once the YBN- UA has been s ec ur ed, the relevant mounting base needs to be f ix ed with the M4 x 16mm
screws supplied. When fitting the base the locating “ LE D” m ar k on the base must be lined up wit h the
locating “LED" m ar k on the YBN-UA, pleas e r efer to fig. 3. Once the base has been fitted the relev ant
detector/ s ens or can then be attac hed, please refer t o fig.4.

Precautions
Ensure that t he bas e is ins talled in accordance with Loc al S tandards or Regulations.
Check that the detector/s ens or is c om patible with the base t y pe.
Only install in suit able env ir onm ents, the f ollowing s hould be av oided:-
• Excessive ambient temperature.
• Where excessiv e c ondensation or moist ur e is pr es ent.
• Hazardous areas.
Do not use a high voltage tes ter on the base or det ec tor
Ensure that t he bas e adaptor is securely fixed to the ceiling or other suitable surface.
Ensure that t he bas e terminals are secur ely fastened.
