HIWATT AMPLIFICATION LIMITED WARRANTY
HIWATT amplifiers are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for five (5) full years from the date of purchase with the exception of footswitches, patch cords, tubes, transformers and meters; these are warranted for 90 days from date of purchase. This warranty is to the original purchaser only and may not be transferred. While under warranty, all replacement parts and labor will be provided without charge. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, accident, neglect or normal wear and tear. Determination of such damage shall be by HIWATT Amplification exclusively. The warranty will be void if repairs have been attempted or performed by anyone other than HIWATT Amplification.
To validate the warranty, the Warranty Registration Card must be completed and returned to HIWATT Amplification within ten (10) days of retail purchase.
Should your HIWATT product require service, you must contact either the HIWATT dealer you purchased it from or HIWATT Amplification directly, and the need for return will be determined and authorized. Products returned to HIWATT Amplification require a Return Authorization Number (RA#) on the outside of the carton. Products needing warranty repair must be returned securely packed to HIWATT Amplification and must be accompanied by a copy of the original sales receipt. All transportation charges are the responsibility of the purchaser.
HIWATT Amplification reserves the right to repair or replace defective units. In the event a duplicate part or product is no longer available, HIWATT Amplification will replace the product with one of equal, or greater value at the sole discretion of HIWATT Amplification.
HIWATT Amplification is not responsible for any incidental or consequential damages resulting from any defect or failure of the product other than the repair or replacement of the product under the terms of this warranty. This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights which vary from state to state and is in lieu of any and all other warranties either expressed or implied except as may otherwise be required by law.
CUSTOM HIWATT CABINETS
Thank you for purchasing a HIWATT cabinet. The Custom HIWATT Cabinet has been designed to compliment your Custom 50W or 100W Head perfectly. It is ruggedly built of 3/4” marine birch and covered with the original basket weave vinyl. It offers unique sound capabilities by virtue of its four custom designed FANE loudspeakers. We believe these units to be the finest reproducers of a wide range of vintage and modern guitar tones. The drive unit has been designed to give deep warm lows, a dynamic midrange, and pure highs with a clean drive. The unit is capable of expressing exceptional musical subtlety. In addition, it is capable of reproducing awesome power when overdriven, as you will find when you use your effects processor.
OPERATION
The impedance of the enclosure is 16 Ohms. Thus it should be driven from the 16 Ohm setting of your amplifier.
If you drive two units then you can plug them directly into a HIWATT amplifier and re-set the impedance selector to 8 Ohms. This is important because if incorrect impedance is selected, the amplifier will be forced into clipping before it can deliver its full output and a poor sound will result.
A high quality loudspeaker lead is required to be used with your cabinet. Microphone or guitar cables must not be used as speaker leads as these can cause a multitude of problems and will invalidate your HIWATT warranty.
The single situation most likely to cause damage to a valve amplifier is driving it into an open circuit. Never disconnect a loudspeaker lead at the loudspeaker end if the amplifier is still operating.
We recommend that for serious usage the cabinets be flight cased. This maintains the look and value of your equipment and ensures that when you come to use it there has been no accidental damage.
MAINTENANCE
HIWATT Cabinets require very little maintenance. If they receive regular heavy use, we recommend that the back is removed periodically and the wiring and loudspeaker fixings are checked. Tighten all screws but particularly the loudspeaker fixings, as high sound levels tend to “bed” in the loudspeaker drive units.
