In order to prevent personal injury or damage to the property of the user or other persons, please read and
understand (the safety precautions) thoroughly and follow them correctly.
■ The severity of injury or damage that occurs when ignoring instructions and improperly using the
cleaner is classified and explained below.
Be sure to follow these directions.
DANGER
● Do not disassemble, repair, or alter.
Doing so may cause leaking, heat generation, fire, or injury.
For repairs, please consult with the Hitachi authorized service agent.

Keep the stick cleaner, handy cleaner, and charging station away from water and other liquids.
The internal battery may rupture and cause the product to catch fire or malfunction.
● Do not connect the contacts of the stick cleaner, handy cleaner, and charging station with
metal objects.
Do not carry or store with metal necklaces, hairpins, etc.
The product may fail or the battery may short-circuit and cause leaking, heat generation, rupturing, or fire.
● Do not throw into fires or apply heat.
The internal battery may rupture and cause fire.

● Use AC 100-240 V socket.
● Periodically wipe off dust, etc. from the plug with a dry cloth.
● Make sure to fully insert the plug.
● Disconnect the plug from the socket when performing charging station maintenance.
If the cord is damaged, it must only be replaced by the Hitachi authorized service agent in order
to avoid a hazard.

Do not damage the cord.
[Do not damage, tamper, unreasonably bend, pull, twist, tuck, or place heavy objects on the
cord, etc.]

Do not use damaged cords and plugs, or loose socket.

Do not let the cord get caught in the rotating rotary brush.

Do not insert or disconnect with wet hands, and do not touch the contacts of the
charging station or cleaner.

Do not charge using a combination other than the included charging station and
stick cleaner.

Do not use the included charging station to charge other types of rechargeable
batteries or non-rechargeable batteries.

During charging, the stick cleaner with the charging station must be placed in a well
ventilated area.
Doing so may cause fire or electrical shock.

● Do not hold the area around the rotating section of the stick
cleaner handle when folding or raising the stick cleaner handle.
This may cause injury.
● Do not vacuum or use near flammable objects, combustibles,
or fires [kerosene, gasoline, thinner, benzene, toner,
combustible gas (sprays), cigarette butts, etc.]

Do not vacuum pointed objects (such as thumbtacks, needles, or toothpicks)
● Do not vacuum foaming substances such as carpet cleaners
● Do not wash with water or use in the bathroom (except for
parts that may be washed with water).

● When carrying the stick cleaner, do not hold the handy cleaner handle.
The stick cleaner may fall and cause injury or damage the floor.
● Keep away from fire.
Shorting due to deformation may cause electrical shock or fire.
Flames may grow larger due to exhaust and cause fire.
● Do not prop up the stick cleaner while it is operating.
● Do not leave the stick cleaner unattended while it is propped up.
● Set it on the charging station when storing.
The stick cleaner may fall and cause injury or damage the floor.
● Discontinue operation when performing stick cleaner or handy cleaner maintenance.
Failing to do so may cause injury.
● Do not carry the cleaner while it is set on the charging station.
The stick cleaner may fall and cause injury or damage the floor.
● Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
● This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they
have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety.
● Only allow children at least 8 years old to use the charging station. Give sufficient
instruction so that the child is able to use the charging station in a safe way and explain
that it is not a toy and must not be played with.
● Instruct the child not to try and recharge non-rechargeable batteries because of the danger
of eruption.
● Example the charging station regularly for damage, especially the cord, plug and
enclosure. If the charging station is damaged, it must not be used until it has been repaired.

If liquid in the battery gets into your eyes, do not rub your eyes and immediately wash your eyes fully with clean water such as tap water
After washing your eyes, immediately consult a doctor
This may cause eye failure.

If the battery leaks, gives off an abnormal smell, becomes discolored, deformed, or damaged after it is dropped, etc., do not use it
Doing so may cause heat generation, rupture, fuming, or fire. A wet floor may cause damage.
● Keep out of reach of babies and toddlers
This may cause electric shock or injury.
If liquid in the battery gets on your skin or clothes, do immediately wash them with clean
water such as tap water, and then immediately consult a doctor
This may cause a skin rash.
About the battery (lithium-ion battery
)
CAUTION
Perform charging at room temperature in the approximate range of 5 to 35°C
In temperatures outside of the range above, the battery may not charge correctly, or the charge time
may be long. Failure to do so may also cause the battery to deteriorate.
● Do not connect the battery to a machine
other than this cleaner
Also, do not disassemble, alter, solder or
charge the battery on its own

other than a repair technician

● Insert the charging station protrusion into the
attachment groove of the stick cleaner.
● The indicator lamp lights up in red when the stick
cleaner is set on the charging station.
● If the indicator lamp does not light up in red, re-set
the stick cleaner so that there is no gap between the
stick cleaner and the stand of the charging station.
If there is a gap between the stick cleaner and the
stand of the charging station, the stick cleaner may
not get charged properly.
● When fully charged, the indicator lamp turns off.
How to charge
Please charge the cleaner before use, as it is not charged at the time of shipment. (Standard charge time is approx. 4 hours.)
●
If you will not use the cleaner for a long period of time (7 days or more), disconnect the plug from the socket.
●
If you have left the cleaner unattended without charging it for a long period of time (7 days or more),
charge it until the indicator lamp turns off before use. (Failure to charge may impair battery performance.)
● To prolong battery life, charge regardless of the operating time.
● When you use the cleaner for the first time or when you have not used it for a long period of time, the
charge time may be long or operating time may be short.
● Charging the battery near a radio may cause noise and make the radio broadcast difficult to hear.
Plug in the charging station and the radio at power sockets 2 or more meters apart from each other when charging.

● Charge with the handy cleaner attached to the stick cleaner.
● If you remove the stick cleaner from the charging station while the indicator lamp is off and then set it on the
charging station again, the indicator lamp will turn on, which is normal.
● The standard charge time is approx. 4 hours. However, the charge time may vary depending on usage.
● The stick cleaner or charging station may become hot while charging, which is normal.
● The cleaner does not operate even after pressing the control button during charging.

Flooring
To prevent scratching of the floor, move along the grain of the flooring.
● When cleaning new flooring, traces may be left on the polished flooring surface.
● If dust remains on the floor after pulling the head towards yourself, lift the head and
vacuum again.

Emptying the dust case
Fine dust may disperse in the air when emptying the dust case.
Empty the dust case in a well-ventilated environment such as outdoors, or wear a mask and avoid
breathing in the dust.
Cyclonic cleaners have the advantage of not requiring paper bags, but to clean with high suction
power, we recommend frequent disposal of dust and filter maintenance.
Note
If you vacuum dust after exceeding the "Max line", the
dust will spill from the inlet of the dust case.
To clean with high suction power, we recommend
frequent disposal of dust.

Perform maintenance when you are concerned about dirt.
Wring out a soft cloth soaked with water before wiping.
Stick cleaner, attachments, attachment accessories
Do not use alcohol, cleansers, chemical dust cloths,
etc. They may cause cracks or discoloration.

Risk of eruption, fire, electric shock, or injury.
● Disconnect the plug of the charging station from the socket
when performing charging station maintenance.
● Do not use flammable objects, combustibles (thinner,
benzene), etc.

air such as that from a hair dryer. This may cause a deterioration in performance, damage, or deformation.
● Gently remove the dust stuck inside before washing with water.
● Do not use a brush other than the supplied maintenance brush. Doing so may cause damage.
● After washing the filters with water, thoroughly air dry them before attaching them.
Using filters while still wet may cause rapid filter clogging, poor suction and abnormal odors.
● Attach the dust case and filters before operation.
If any dust enters the motor, the filter inside the cleaner may be clogged and an abnormal sound may be
generated from the cleaner. In that case, consult with the Hitachi authorized service agent.
● If the vacuum power is weak even after washing the filters with water, the clean filter, etc. may be worn.
