Safety Precautions

Please read the following recommended safety pre­cautions carefully for your safety.

INFORMATION ON OPERATING
YOUR TV

Dos and Donts

DOs

This Television has been designed and manu­factured to meet international safety standards,
but like any electrical equipment, care must be
taken if you are to obtain the best results and
safety is to be assured.

DO read the operating instructions before you
attempt to use the equipment.

DO consult your dealer if you are in any doubt
about installation, operation or safety of your
equipment.

DO be careful with glass panels or doors on
equipment.

This TV is supplied with a fitted mains plug. This
plug must not be cut off as it may contain a spe­cial radio interference filter, the removal of which
could lead to impaired performance. If you wish
to extend the lead, obtain an appropriate safety
approved extension lead or consult your dealer.

Observe the manufacturers instructions when
connecting extension leads to the TV. Check the
fuse rating on the new plug, this should be fitted
with a 5 Amp fuse which conforms to either ASTA
or BSI (BS1 362) approvals, these are easily

DONT continue to operate the equipment if you
are in any doubt about it working normally, or if it
is damaged in any way switch off, withdraw the

DONT leave equipment switched on when it is
unattended unless it is specifically stated that it
is designed for unattended operation or has a

to be made for infirm or handicapped people.

DONT use equipment such as personal stereos
or radios so that you are distracted from the re­quirements of traffic safety. It is illegal to watch
television whilst driving.

DONT obstruct the ventilation of the equipment,
for example with curtains or soft furnishings.
Overheating will cause damage and shorten the
life of the equipment.

DONT use makeshift stands and NEVER fix legs
or stands to the TV with any screws other than
those provided - to ensure complete safety al­ways use the manufacturers approved stand
with the fixings provided.

DONT allow electrical equipment to be exposed
to rain or moisture.

anything into holes, slots or any other open­ing in the case - this could result in a fatal
electric shock.

 NEVER guess or take chances with electrical

equipment of any kind - it is better to be safe
than sorry!

PE Connection to mains

Be sure to ground the connection properly. Connect the ground terminal
of TV with the ground terminal provided at the power outlet using the
enclosed power cord. If the provided plug does not fit your outlet, con­sult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.

1.Power Source

The TV set should be operated only from a 220-240 V
AC, 50 Hz outlet. Ensure that you select the correct
voltage setting for your convenience.

2.Power Cord

Do not place the set, a piece of furniture, etc. on the
power cord (mains lead) or pinch the cord. Handle
the power cord by the plug. Do not pull out the plug by
tugging the cord and never touch the power cord
when your hands are wet as this could cause a short
circuit or electric shock. Never make a knot in the cord
or tie it with other cords. The power cords should be
placed in such a way that they are not likely to be
stepped on. A damaged power cord can cause fire or
give you an electric shock. When it is damaged and
needs to be changed, it should be done by qualified
personnel.

3. Moisture and Water

Do not use this equipment in a humid and damp place
(avoid the bathroom, the sink in the kitchen, and near
the washing machine). Do not expose this equipment
to rain or water, as this may be dangerous and do not
place objects filled with liquids, such as flower vases,
on top. Avoid from dripping or splashing.

If any solid object or liquid falls into the cabinet, unplug
the TV and have it checked by qualified personnel
before operating it any further.

4.Cleaning

Before cleaning, unplug the TV set from the wall out­let. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. Use soft and
dry cloth.

5. Ventilation

The slots and openings on the TV set are intended for
ventilation and to ensure reliable operation. To pre­vent overheating, these openings must not be blocked
or covered in anyway.

6. Heat and Flames

The set should not be placed near to naked flames
and sources of intense heat, such as an electric
heater. Ensure that no naked flame sources, such as
lighted candles, are placed on top of the TV. Batteries
shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sun­shine, fire or the like.

7. Lightning

In case of storm and lightning or when going on holi­day, disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.

8. Replacement Parts

When replacement parts are required, be sure the
service technician has used replacement parts which
are specified by the manufacturer or have the same
specifications as the original one. Unauthorized sub­stitutions may result in fire, electrical shock, or other
hazards.

9. Servicing

Please refer all servicing to qualified personnel. Do
not remove the cover yourself as this may result in an
electric shock.

10. Waste Disposal

Instructions for waste disposal:

 Packaging and packaging aids are recyclable and

should principally be recycled. Packaging materials,
such as foil bag, must be kept away from children.

 Battery, including those which are heavy metal-free,

should not be disposed of with household waste.
Please dispose of used battery in an environmen­tally sound manner. Find out about the legal regula­tions which apply in your area.

 Cold cathode fluoresant lamp in LCD PANEL con-

tains a small amount of mercury; please follow local
ordinates or regulations for disposal.

Information for users applicable

in European Union countries

This symbol on the product or on its packaging means
that your electrical and electronic equipment should
be disposed at the end of life separately from your
household wastes. There are separate collection
systems for recycling in EU.

11. Disconnect Device

The mains plug is used to disconnect TV set from the
mains and therefore it shall remain readily operable.

12. Excessive sound pressure from earphones and

headphones can cause hearing loss.

13. To prevent injury, this device must be securely

attached to the wall in accordance with the in­stallation instructions when mounted to the wall
(if the option is available).

14. Connection to a television
distribution system (Cable TV etc.)
from tuner:

Apparatus connected to the protective earthing of
the building installation through the mains connection
or through other apparatus with a connection to pro­tective earthing - and to a television distribution sys­tem using coaxial cable, may in some circumstances
create a fire hazard.

To ground the antenna system properly, be sure that
the cable grounding is connected with the building's
grounding system. Note that the connection should
follow IEC 60364-7-707 and IEC 603646-5-548 stan­dards which require that the grounding should be as
close as possible to the cable connection.

Preparation

For ventilation, leave a space of at least 10 cm free all
around the set. To prevent any fault and unsafe situ­ations, please do not place any objects on top of the
set.

Use this apparatus in moderate climates.

Before Switching On Your TV

Power Connection

IMPORTANT: The TV set is designed to operate on
220-240V AC, 50 Hz.

 After unpacking, allow the TV set to reach the ambi-

ent room temperature before you connect the set to
the mains.

Connections To The Aerial Input Socket

 Connect the aerial or cable TV plug to the Aerial input

socket located at the rear of the TV and connect the
cable plug coming out from the TV out socket lo­cated on the devices (VCR, DVB etc.) to this socket
as well.

Inserting Batteries In The Remote
Control Handset

WARNING : Remote control is battery included. A plas­tic protector is used to disconnect the batteries in
order to prevent the battery life from reducing. Please
remove the plastic protector before the first use.

 Remove the battery cover located on the back of the

handset by gently pulling backwards from the indi­cated part.

 Insert two AA/R6 or equivalent type batteries inside.

Place the batteries in the right directions and replace
the battery cover.

Note: Remove the battery from remote control hand­set when it is not to be used for a long period. Other­wise it can be damaged due to any leakage of bat­tery.

Handling the Remote Control

 It could cause corrosion or battery leakage and may

result in physical injury and/or property damage in­cluding fire.

 Never mix used and new batteries in the device.

 Replace all the batteries in a device at the same time.

 Remove the batteries if the remote control is not

going to be used for an extended period of time.

 To avoid possible failure, read the following instruc-

tions and handle the remote control properly.

 Do not drop or cause impact to the remote control.

 Do not spill water or any liquid on the remote control.

 Do not place the remote control on a wet object.

 Do not place the remote control under the direct

sunlight or near sources of excessive heat.

Note: Remove the battery from remote control hand-

set when it is not to be used for a long period.
Otherwise it can be damaged due to any leak­age of battery.

Operating Range for the Remote Control

 Point the top of the remote control toward the LCD

TV's remote sensor LED while pressing a button.

Remote Control range is approx 7m/23ft.

Switching The TV ON/OFF

To switch the TV on

Your TV will switch on in two steps:

1- Connect the power cord to the system. Press Power

On/Off switch. Then the TV switches itself to
stand-by mode (optional).

2- To switch on the TV from stand-by mode either:

Press a digit button on the remote control so that a
programme number is selected, or Press the -P/CH
or P/CH+ button on the TV or press the P+ or P-
button on the remote control, so that last mode
switched off is selected.

By either method the TV will switch on.

To switch the TV off

 Press the  (stand-by) button on the remote con-

trol or On/Off switch on the TV, so the TV will switch
to stand-by mode.

To power down the TV completely, press On/Off
switch

Unplug the power cord from the mains socket.

Navigating the Menu System

Initial Settings

When the TV is turned on for the first time, it is in the
digital mode.

Because this is the first time the TV is used, there are
no channels stored in the memory and the following
message appears on the screen.

 To start installation process, select Yes, to cancel

The IDTV will automatically tune to the UHF transmision
channels 21 to 68 looking for digital terrestrial TV broad­casts and displaying the names of channels found.
This process will take about five minutes. To cancel

After APS is finalized, a programme list will appear on
the screen. In the programme list you will see the
programme numbers and names assigned to the
programmes.

If you do not accept the locations and / or the
programme names of programmes, you can change
them in Install Menu. For details see Install Menu
section.

Basic Operations

You can operate your TV using both the remote
control and onset buttons.

Operation with the buttons on the TV

Volume Setting

 Press - button to decrease volume or +

button to increase volume, so a volume level scale
(slider) will be displayed at the middle of the bottom
on the screen.

Programme Selection

 Press P/CH +button to select the next programme or

P/CH - button to select the previous programme.

Entering Main Menu

 Press the MENU button to enter Main menu. In the

Main menu select sub-menu using P/CH - or P/CH +

buttons and enter the sub-menu using

+ buttons. To learn the usage of the menus,

refer to the Menu System sections.

AV Mode

Press the TV/AV button at the control panel on the the
TV to switch your TV to AV modes.

Operation with Remote Control

The remote control of your TV is designed to control
all the functions of the model you selected. The func­tions will be described in accordance with the menu
system of your TV.

Functions of the menu system are described in the
following sections.

Volume Setting

Press + button to increase volume. Press ­button to decrease volume. A volume level scale
(slider) will be displayed in the middle at the bottom of
the screen.

Programme Selection (Previous or next
programme)

 Press P- button to select the previous programme.

 Press P+ button to select the next programme.

Programme Selection (direct access)

Press digit buttons on the remote control to select
programmes between 0 and 9. TV will switch to the
selected programme. To select programmes between
10 - 999 (for IDTV) or 10-99 (for analogue), press the
digit buttons consecutively which programme you
want to select (eg. for programme 27, first press 2
and then 7). When it is late to press second digit
button only the first digit programme will be displayed.
The limit of the delay time is 3 seconds.

Press directly the programme number to reselect single
digit programmes.

Everyday Operation

Pressing the button at any time while watch-

ing television programmes will switch the TV set be­tween displaying the digital terrestrial television broad­casting and its normal analogue broadcasting.

Information Banner

Whenever you change channel, using the P- / P+
button or the digit buttons, TV displays the channel
picture along with an information banner at the bottom
of the screen. This will remain on the screen for ap­proximately three seconds. The information banner
can also be displayed at any time while watching TV

The information banner gives a number of facts on
the channel selected and the programmes on it. The
name of the channel is displayed, along with its chan­nel list number and an indication of the strength of the
signal received on this tuning channel.

Hint
Not all channels broadcast the programme

data. If the name and times of the programmeis
not available then No Information Available
are displayed in the information banner.

If the selected channel is locked, you must enter the
correct four digit code to view the channel.

 In the EPG Menu all channels are displayed. Current

extended event description, start and finish times of

 When the current programme is highlighted, the box

is switched to the highlighted channel by pressing

highlighted, a reminder is set for the highlighted
programme and a clock appears across the high­lighted channel line.

Programme reminders can be set to signal that a
programme is about to start when you are watching
another channel. If you set reminder to a programme,
then you will be asked for switching to that channel
when the reminder time is reached.

Electronic Programme Guide (EPG)

Some, but not all, channels send information about
the current and next events. Please note that event
information is updated automatically. If there is no event
information data available in channels, only channel
names with No Information Available banner is
displayed.

 Press GUIDE button to view the EPG menu.

 In EPG Menu, you can easily see the extended help
information by pressing INFO button and by pressing
this button again you can close this window.

 With RED/GREEN buttons you can change schedule

time. By pressing YELLOW/BLUE you can ad­vance the schedule backward / forward of a day.

Over Air Download

To ensure that your IDTV always has the most up-to­date information, please ensure that after use it is set
to its standby mode. At 3AM each day, the IDTV auto­matically searches for any new information which
may be broadcast and will download this to your
IDTV automatically. This operation will normally take
approximately 30 seconds.

If you want to do this, you need to set Automatic
Download to Enabled in Receiver Upgrade set­ting. For details see page 17.

Widescreen

Depending on the type of broadcast being transmitted,
programmes can be viewed in a number of formats.

Adding locks to channels

Channel Locking provides a password-protected ac­cess to channels selected by parents. In order to lock
a channel you should know the Parental Lock pass­word (default value is set to 0000 in the factory and

building a Channel Table in the most efficient way.

This tuning menu consists of two parts:

To install factory settings, highlight First Time In­stallation menu and press the OK button, then you

will be asked to confirm for deleting all channels and
settings.

By selecting YES and pressing the OK button, the
existing channel table will be deleted.

After factory settings is loaded, First Time Instal-
lation menu will be displayed.

Press the OK button to start installation. After search
is completed for digital channels, a message asking
search for analogue channels appears on the screen.

Automatic Search

Automatic search is started by pressing the OK but­ton in the auto-search pop up menu. All the services
are searched and a channel table is created auto­matically.

All channels found are stored in a sorted form with
respect to their channel numbers. Some services
may not appear with the correct channel number. At
the time of printing, not all broadcasters are sending
their channel number information.

Manual Search

In manual search, the number of the multiplex is en­tered manually and only that multiplex is searched for
the channels. For every valid channel number, signal
level, signal quality and network name are shown at
the bottom of the screen.

In both manual and auto search any existing channel
in the database is not re-stored to avoid redundant
duplicates of that channel.

FIRST TIME INSTALLATION

The user can use this item to load default settings,
which had been loaded to the receiver at the factory.

Automatic Download can be enabled or disabled

left in standby mode. Both automatic upgrade meth­ods result in standby mode either upgraded or not.

Installation: Installation menu is locked, so the user
cannot add channels.

Changes will be updated after exiting Configuration

Timers

You can set a timer to switch the TV to any channel
without your intervention. This is also for making video
recordings of programmes when you are out.

Parental Settings

Some channels broadcast material which you do not
want younger members of the family to watch. Any
channel can be locked so that it cannot be selected
for viewing without first a four-digit PIN code being
entered. In this way any channel not suitable for
younger viewers can be protected.

system and allows the PIN code to be changed.

Set the AV-2 OUT in the feature menu to DDT, as

Set your VCR to correspond with the time set on your
TV and select external input (refer to your VCR in­struction book).

NB. If you switch on your TV whilst the timer record­ing is active and then switch back to standby, the
timer recording will be cancelled; the timer setting will
be deleted and the desired programme will not be
recorded.

Some programmes are broadcast in two or more lan­guages simultaneously. The language heard can be
selected from the Language Menu.

It is required to subscribe to a pay channel company
to view the pay channels of the Digital Terrestrial broad­casting.

Obtain the Conditional Access Module (CAM) and the
Viewing card by subscribing to a pay channel com­pany, then insert those to the Television using the
following procedure.

1. Switch off the TV and unplug from the mains.

2. Insert the CAM, then Viewing Card to the slot that is
located in the terminal cover at the left-hand side
of the TV (from front view).

 The CAM should be correctly inserted, it is impos-

sible to insert fully if reversed. The CAM or the TV
terminal may be damaged if the CAM is forcefully
inserted.

3. Connect the TV to the mains supply, switch on and
then wait for few moments until the card is acti­vated.

 Some CAMs may require the following set up. Please

set the CAM by entering the IDTV menu, Common
Interface then pressing the OK button. (CAM set up
menu is not displayed when it is not required.)

APS (Auto Programming System)

When you press the BLUE button for APS, Auto Pro­gramming System Menu will appear on the screen.

By moving the cursor in four directions you can reach
20 programmes in the same page. You can scroll the
pages up or down by pressing the navigation buttons
to see all the programmes in TV mode (except the AV
mode). By cursor action, programme selection is done
automatically.

Name

To change the name of a decided programme, select
the programme and press the RED button.

The first letter of the selected name will be highlighted.
Press
button to select the other letters. By pressing the RED
button, you can store the name.

Insert

Select the programme which you want to insert by
navigation buttons. Press the GREEN button. By navi­gation buttons move the selected programme to the
decided programme space and press the GREEN but-
ton again.

Delete

To delete a programme, press the YELLOW button.
Pressing the YELLOW button again erases the se­lected programme from the programme list, and the
programmes below shift one up.

A.P.S. (Auto Programming System) Country

Press _ / ` button to select your country. If you want
to exit from A.P.S. function, press the BLUE button.

When you press OK or RED button for starting APS,
all stored programs will be erased and the following
screen will be displayed:

Whenever you press the BLUE button, A.P.S. func­tion stops and Program Table appears on the screen.

If you wait until the end of A.P.S., Program Table is
displayed with the programmes found and located.

Program

By pressing a / b button, select Program. Press

enter a number via digit buttons on the remote control.
There are 100 program storage between 0 and 99.

Colour System

By pressing a / b select Colour System. By press­ing

/ ` button, you can change the colour system to

PAL, SECAM, PAL 60, NTSC 4,43, NTSC 3,58 or
AUTO.

VCR

By pressing a / b select VCR. By pressing _ /
button, you can set the VCR to ON or OFF.

Store

By pressing a / b button, select Store. Press ` or
OK button to store the adjustments. Stored... will
be displayed on the screen.

Source menu

By pressing / button, select the fifth icon. Source
menu appears on the screen.

In source menu, highlight a source by pressing a /

OK button. Source options are; TV, DTT, AV-1, AV-2,
AV-2 S, AV-3 (*), FAV, S-Video, YPbPr, HDMI-1,

Installation

 Power off both Computer and Display before making

any connections.

 Set your PCs resolution correctly before connect-

ing to the TV. See the table on Appendix A on page

36.

 Use 15-pin display cable to connect a PC to the LCD

TV.

Sound Menu/Feature Menu

The items in these menus are described at Sound &
Feature Menu explained in Menu System.

PC Picture Me nu

By pressing a /b button, select the second icon. PC
Picture menu appears on the screen.

Brightness, Contrast and Colour Temperature adjust­ments in this menu are identical to adjustments de­fined in TV picture menu in MENU SYSTEM.

PC POSITION Menu

By pressing a /b button, select the sixth icon. PC
POSITION menu appears on the screen.

H (Horizontal) Position

This item shifts the image horizontally to right hand
side or left hand side of the screen.

 Select H Position item by using

V (Vertical) Position

This item shifts the image vertically towards the top or
bottom of the screen.

Phase

Depending on the resolution and scan frequency that
you input to the TV Set, you may see a hazy or noisy
picture on the screen. In such a case you can use
this item to get a clear picture by trial and error method.

Dot Clock

Dot Clock adjustments correct interference that ap­pear as vertical banding in dot intensive presenta­tions like spreadsheets or paragraphs or text in smaller
fonts.

 Connect the PCs Audio output to the TVs PC Audio

Autoposition

If you shift the picture horizontally or vertically to an
unwanted position, use this item to put the picture into
correct place automatically.

TV Status

Programme Number, Programme Name,
Sound Indicator and Zoom Mode are displayed

on the screen when a new programme is entered.

Mute Indicator

It is placed in the upper side of the screen when
enabled.

To cancel mute, there are two alternatives; the first

one is pressing the button and the second one is
increasing the volume level.

PIP and PAP Modes

PIP picture is displayed on the screen by pressing

button . At PIP Mode, a small picture (PIP picture)
is displayed in the main picture.

When PIP Mode is entered, the default active window
is PIP window and the active window is indicated by
a red frame around it. The active window can be

changed by pressing

PIP position can be changed by pressing

Zoom Modes

Zoom mode can be changed by pressing the
button. You can change the screen size according to
the picture aspect ratio. Select the optimum one from
the following ZOOM modes.

Note:

 In YPBPR and HDMI modes, while in 720p-1080i

resolutions, only FULL mode is available.

 In PC mode, only 4:3 and 16:9 modes are available.

Auto

When a WSS (Wide Screen Signalling) signal,
which shows the aspect ratio of the picture, is in­cluded in the broadcast signal or the signal from an
external device, the TV automatically changes the
ZOOM mode according to the WSS signal.

 When the AUTO mode does not function correctly

due to poor WSS signal quality or when you want to
change the ZOOM mode, change to another ZOOM
mode manually.

Zoom

This uniformly stretches the left and right sides of a
normal picture (4:3 aspect ratio) to fill the wide TV
screen.

 For 16:9 aspect ratio pictures that have been

squeezed into a normal picture (4:3 aspect ratio),
use the Full mode to restore the picture to its original
shape.

Cinema

This zooms up the wide picture (16:9 aspect ratio) to
the full screen.

16:9 Zoom

This zooms up the wide picture (16:9 aspect ratio) to
the full screen.

Subtitle

This zooms up the wide picture (16:9 aspect ratio)
with subtitles to the full screen.

4:3

Use to view a normal picture (4:3 aspect ratio) as this
is its original shape.

14:9 Zoom

This zooms up the wide picture (14:9 aspect ratio) to
the upper and lower limits of the screen.

Panoramic

This stretches the left and right sides of a normal
picture (4:3 aspect ratio) to fill the screen, without
making the picture appear unnatural.

The top and bottom of the picture are slightly cut off.

Freeze Picture

You can freeze the picture on the screen by pressing

the

button.

Note: This feature will be unavailable to be used

while watching PC, YPBPr and HDMI sources.

Teletext

Teletext system transmits informartion such as news,
sports and weather on your TV. Note that if the signal
becomes insufficient, some text errors may occur or
the teletext mode may be quitted.Teletext function

Teletext On/Off

Activates teletext mode when pressed once.

Teletext PAT mode

Pressing this buton will split the screen into two win­dows, one displaying the teletext and the other dis­playing the current channel. Pressing again will switch
to teletext mode in a single screen.

Index

Selects the teletext index page.

Reveal

Shows hidden information (solutions of games, for
example).

Hold

Holds a text page when convenient. Press again to
resume.

Subcode Pages / Time

Selects subcode pages if available when the teletext
is activated. When the teletext is not activated, dis­plays time info if the programme has teletext trans­mission.

P+ / P- and numbers (0-9)

Press to select a page.

Note: Most TV stations use code 100 for their index

pages.

Coloured buttons (RED/GREEN/YELLOW/BLUE)

Your TV supports both FASTEXT and TOP text sys­tems. When these systems are available, the pages
are divided into groups or topics.

When FASTEXT system is available, sections in a
teletext page will become colour-coded and can be
selected by pressing the coloured buttons. Press a
coloured button that conrresponds with your needs.

The coloured writings will appear, showing you which
coloured buttons to use when TOP text transmission
is present. Pressing P - or P + commands will request
the next or previous page respectively.

Connect Peripheral Equipment

High Definition

Your LCD Television is capable of displaying High
Definition pictures from devices such as a High Defi­nition Satellite Receiver or DVD Player. These devices
must be connected via the HDMI socket or Compo­nent Socket. These sockets can accept either 720p
or 1080i signals.

Note: When it is desired to watch HDMI source with

a DVI to HDMI cable; in order to enable audio,
Audio Input (which is located at the left side of
the antenna input) is to be used to get DVI
devices audio signals.

Via The Scart

The TV has 2 Scart sockets. If you want to connect
peripherals (e.g. video, decoder, etc.) which have
Scart sockets to the TV, you can use SCART socket
of the TV.

Note: If an external device is connected via the Scart

sockets, the TV will automatically switch to AV
mode. If both sockets are employed at the sime
time, SCART 1 becomes the preferential.

Via Aerial Input

If the device you want to connect does not have a
Scart socket, you should connect it to the Aerial input
of the TV.

If the VCR is connected via Aerial input, it is
suggested to use Programme 0.

Decoder

If you are subscribed to cable TV offers, the
organisation will supply you a corresponding decoder
unit to allow the programmes to be unscrambled.

For further information consult your dealer.

Connect a decoder with an aerial socket to
the TV

 Connect the aerial cable.

Connect a decoder without an aerial socket
to the TV

 Connect the decoder to the EXTERNAL socket of

TV with a RCA cable. Through the SCART/RCA
socket of the decoder, you may attain a better dis­play resolution.

TV And Video Recorder

 Connect the aerial cables.

Better picture quality can be obtained if you also con­nect a Scart cable to SCART sockets.

Playback NTSC

 Connect NTSC VCR player to a SCART socket of

the TV.

 Then, select the related source from the SOURCE menu.

Source selection for VCR recording.

 Select Feature menu.

 Select AV-2 Out by pressing

 For copying the picture that comes from the tuner,

select SCART 1.

Note: Scart-1 socket cannot be used as DTV output.

Please use Scart-2 instead.

Camera And Camcorder

To Connect To AV Input

Connect your camera or camcorder to AV input of the
TV.

 Connect your equipment to the TV via VIDEO (yel-

low), AUDIO R (red) and AUDIO L (white) inputs.
You must connect the jacks into the input with the
same colour.

To Connect To S-VHS Input

Connect your camera or camcorder S-VHS input of
the TV.

 Connect your equipment to the TV via S-VHS input

and audio inputs of AV inputs by using S-VHS
cables.

Connect The Decoder To The Video
Recorder

Some video recorders have a special Scart socket
for decoder.

 Connect a Scart cable to the Scart socket of your

decoder and to the special Scart socket of your
video recorder. Refer to the booklet of your video
recorder.

Connecting Headphones (optional)

Use the stereo headphone socket of the TV, to con­nect headphones.

Note: If you want to connect more equipment to your

TV, consult your dealer.

Audio Lineout

To connect the external speakers to your TV, use the
Line Outs of the TV.

Note: While watching PC or YPbPr sources, Lineout

selection could only be the current source.

Connecting Subwoofer

Use Subwoofer Out socket to connect an external,
active subwoofer to the set to give a much deeper
bass effect.

Tips

Care Of The Screen

Clean the screen with a slightly damp, soft cloth. Do
not use abrasive solvents as they may damage the
TV screen coating layer.

Poor Picture

Have you selected the correct TV system? Is your TV
set or house aerial located too close to non-earthed
audio equipment or neon lights, etc.?

Mountains or high buildings can cause double pic­tures or ghost images. Sometimes you can improve
the picture quality by changing the direction of the
aerial.

Is the picture or Teletext unrecognisable? Check if
you have entered the correct frequency.

The picture quality may degrade when two peripher­als are connected to the TV at the same time. In such
a case, disconnect one of the peripherals.

No Picture

Is the aerial connected properly? Are the plugs con­nected tightly to the aerial socket? Is the aerial cable
damaged? Are suitable plugs used to connect the
aerial? If you are in doubt, consult your dealer.

No Picture means that your TV is not receiving a
transmission. Have you selected the correct button
on the remote control?Try once more.

Sound

You can not hear any sound. Did you perhaps inter-

rupt the sound, pressing the

Sound is coming from only one of the speakers.Is the
balance set to one extreme? See Sound menu.

Remote Control

Your TV no longer responds to the remote control.
Perhaps the batteries are exhausted. If so you can
still use the local buttons at the bottom of the TV.
