Important Notes
This safety and operating instruction should be retained for future reference.
The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no objects filled
with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on apparatus.
Avoid installing the unit in locations described below: o Places exposed to direct sunlight or close to heat radiating appliances such
as electric heaters.

Some Do’s And Don’ts On the Safe Use Of Equipment
This equipment has been designed and manufactured to meet international safety standards but, like any electrical equipment, care must be taken if you are to obtain the best results and safety is to be assured.
DO read the operating instructions before you attempt to use the equipment. DO ensure that all electrical connections (including the mains plug, extension leads
and inter-connections between the pieces of equipment) are properly made and in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Switch off and withdraw the mains plug before making or changing connections. DO consult your dealer if you are ever in doubt about the installation, operation or safety of your equipment.
DON’T remove any fixed cover as this may expose dangerous voltages. DON’T obstruct the ventilation openings of the equipment with items such as
newspapers, tablecloths, curtains, etc. Overheating will cause damage and shorten the life of the equipment. DON’T allow electrical equipment to be exposed to dripping or splashing, or objects filled with liquids, such as vases, to be placed on the equipment. DON’T place hot objects or naked flame sources such as lighted candles or nightlights on, or close to equipment. High temperatures can melt plastic and lead to fires. DON’T use equipment such as personal stereos or radios so that you are distracted from the requirements of traffic safety. DON’T listen to headphones at high volume, as such use can permanently damage your hearing. DON’T leave equipment switched on when it is unattended unless it is specifically stated that it is designed for unattended operation. Switch off using the switch on the equipment and make sure that your family knows how to do this. Special arrangements may need to be made for infirm or handicapped people. DON’T continue to operate the equipment if you are in any doubt about it working normally or if it is damaged in any way, switch off, withdraw the mains plug and consult your dealer.
Caution: The power adapter has a removable plug, please handle with care. Caution: The power adaptor will still be supplying power to the unit when connected,
even if the unit appears to be off. The power adaptor must be removed from the mains socket to power off completely.
ESD Remark: In case of malfunction due to electrostatic discharge just reset the product (reconnection of power source may be required) to resume normal operation.

Getting Started

Connect the supplied AC/DC adapter to the DC IN socket and then plug the other end to the mains socket. Turn the ON/VOLUME Knob to power the unit up and extend the aerial found on the top of the DAB radio.

Installing Batteries
1. Switch off the radio and unplug it from the mains socket.
2. Remove the battery compartment cover at the bottom of the radio.
3. Insert 4 new D-size batteries, referring to the polarity markings inside the battery compartment.
Note: Before installing batteries, ensure that the radio is disconnected from the mains
supply. If you are not going to use the radio for an extended period, please remo ve the batteries to avoid damage. Never mix old and new batteries.
DAB Mode
1. Then your radio will go into DAB mode, or the last selected mode (ie: DAB or FM or AUX). If you want DAB mode, touch
until DAB Mode appears.

How to search DAB Radio Stations Automatically

2. Touch for Autotune Quick scan.
For initial use in DAB mode, your radio will now scan for DAB stations in your area and store the DAB stations in memory. A slide bar is displayed on the LCD, indicating the progress of the scan.

The radio will now perform a Full scan and store the DAB stations in memory. A slide bar is displayed on the LCD, indicating the progress of the scan.
Once the scanning is completed, the DAB station name list will be displayed in alphanumeric order. The first station in the list will be selected.
Turn the Tuning Knob your desired station appears, stop turning, your radio will tune to the selected station.
Note: If no DAB signal is foun d in your area, it may be necessary for you to relocate your radio.
Alternatively, visit http://www.ukdigitalradio.com/coverage to check that DAB coverage is available in your area.

Finding and Adding New DAB Stations

Touch and hold until Autotune Full scan appears on the display.
The radio will scan the DAB channels and add any new stations available to the station list.

How to search DAB Radio Stations Manually

1. Touch and hold
2. Display will show the current channel number and frequency.
Turn the Tuning Knob to step between the channels, when the desired channel appears, stop turning.

Note: If there is a multiplex corresponding to this channel number
and frequency the display will show the multiplex name, and a tuning meter showing the signal strength.

To Show the Signal Strength in DAB mode

Repeat touching until the LCD screen display shows a signal bar with the strength of the current station.
Note: The indicator on the signal bar shows the minimum required signal level. Stations
with signal strength below this level will not provide a steady stream of audio.

Displaying DAB Station Information
It is possible to change the type of information that is displayed on the second line of the display when listening to a DAB station. There are five types of information available as listed below with examples on the right.
To change the information displayed touch the follow display modes.
Dynamic Label Segment:
This is scrolling text information supplied by the DAB station. It may comprise information on music titles or details of the programme and is provided by the broadcaster.
Program Type:
This is a description of the type of programme provided by the DAB station and is provided by the broadcaster.

Multiplex Name:
This will show the multiplex name that is broadcasting the programme name you are listening to.
Signal Information:
The indicator on the signal bar shows the minimum required signal level and the current signal level.
Time and Date:
This displays the time and date and is provided by the broadcaster.

Secondary Services
You may see a ">" symbol after the name of the station, this indicates that there are secondary services available to that station. These secondary services contain extra services that are related to the primary station. E.g. A sports station may want to add extra commentaries. The secondary services are inserted directly after the primary station in the station list. To select the secondary station, turn the Tuning Knob when the ">" app ears in the LCD before the station name. When the secondary service ends, the radio will automatically switch back to the primary station.

Setting DAB/FM Station Presets

Your radio can store 4DAB station presets and 4 FM station presets, this will enable you to

To store the current station:
1. Touch and hold one of touch pad Preset # stored displayed on the LCD.
2. You may repeat step 1 until all 4 presets are full.

1. To select a stored DAB/FM station, first enter corresponding mode by touching

How to Reset Radio and show Software version

1. Touch and hold will show software version.
2. Touch 1, you radio will perform system reset.
All preset stations will be erased and the set will revert back to its factory default settings.

FM Mode

How to tune in FM Radio Stations

To listen to FM radio stations switch the DAB radio on and touch to FM Mode.
If this is the first time in FM mode, your radio will start from the beginning of the FM frequency range, or the last FM station you were listening to will be shown.

How to search FM Radio Stations Manually

1. Touch until Manual tune mode appears.
2. Turn the Tuning Knob to scan up or down the frequency band 0.05MHz per step.
3. When your desired station appears, simply stop turning, your radio will tune to that station immediately.
4. To search the next active station, please keep turning the Tuning Knob.

How to search FM Radio Stations Automatically

1. Touch twice and Auto seek mode appears.
2. Turn the Tuning Knob clockwise or anti-clockwise, your radio will scan upward/downward from the current frequency automatically.
Note: During this step, touch any button will pause the current
seeking.
3. The unit will display the frequency changing until it stops on the next station.
4. To find the next strong signal station automatically, simply turn the Tuning Knob again.
5. When it scans to the end of the frequency range, it will restart searching at the beginning.

Displaying FM Station Information
To change the type of information displayed touch repeatedly, the display will cycle through the follow display modes.

AUX IN Operation Mode
AUX IN allows for quick and easy connection to an MP3 player or other external sound sources.
1. Touch
2. Connect one end of the audio lead (not provided) to the headphone (or auxiliary out) socket of your source device, the other end connect to AUX IN socket on the right side of radio.
3. To gain optimal volume level, adjust the output volume level on both the source device and the radio.

Setting Alarm

Note: Before setting the alarm, please ensure that the clock has been set; this is done
automatically by tuning in to either a DAB station or an RDS FM station.
1. Touch and hold to enter Alarm setting mode.
2 Turn the Tuning Knob to choose ON, touch
to confirm.
3 Turn the Tuning Knob to change the hour, and then
touch to set the minutes;
4. Turn the Tuning Knob to change the minutes, and then touch
exit Alarm setting mode.

6. Turn the ON/VOLUME Knob anti-clockwise to enter STANDBY mode, alarm icon will appear.
Note: In STANDBY mode, when alarm is coming, radio screen
will be twinkling but the sound level is low.
7. When Alarm is coming, touch any button to deactivate it. The radio will start to count down from the snooze period set.
Note: a. The default snoo ze period is 8 minutes.
b. After the snooze period expired, then alarm will come

Timer
Timer is designed to allow setting a reminder for a short period of time.
Note: a. Timer works in all modes.
b. Timer ranges from 0-240 minutes.
1. Touch and hold
