Hitachi’s Travelstar E7K60. The combination

of speed and endurance on Hitachi’s

Travelstar E7K60 gives users an industrial-

strength 2.5-inch hard drive to take on

demanding data-access requirements

typical of applications such as network

routers, point-of-sale terminals, blade-

servers, and telephony networking systems.

“Always on” for 24x7 access

Users who require high data availability can

take advantage of the “always-on” char-

acteristic of Hitachi’s Travelstar E7K60. The

drives are designed to allow users to leave it

powered on around-the-clock and supports

a read/write duty cycle of up to 50 per-

cent—more than twice the level supported

on standard mobile drives.

Designed specifically for continuous

operation, the Travelstar E7K60 extends

the Travelstar tradition of delivering perfor-

mance and reliability. The 9.5mm high, 7200

RPM 2.5-inch Travelstar E7K60 provides

added benefits to users, including minimal

heat emission for optimal performance,

low power consumption, and a small form

factor for compact environme nts. The

Hitachi Travelstar E7K60 series of hard disk

drives utilizes proven storage technolo-

gies such as TrueTrack Servo, Drive Fitness

TestTM (DFT), Self-Monitoring Analysis and

Reporting Technology (S.M.A.R.T.) to help

maintain high-performance and fast seek

times in always-on environments.
