Drawing 3 - Glass Installation
1. Find a clear area in which you can work.
2. Unpack xture and glass from carton.
3. Carefully review instructions prior to assembly.
*** The construction of this xture will be accomplished by rst determining the length of
stem required, mounting the attaching strap to the junction box, making all necessary
elctrical connections, hanging the xture from the ceiling, and then installing the glass.
1. Determine the overall length you will need the assembled xture to be.
2. Determine what stems will be needed to achieve the overall length you require.
(Additional stems are available and can be ordered. Ask your local Hinkley Lighting representative or visit www.hinkleylighting.com for information.)
3. Install stems by slipping them onto the supply wire of the xture, threaded end up, and
threading them together -see Drawing 3.
1. Install screws (A) into mounting plate (B) - see Drawing 1.
• Be sure the holes into which the screws are threaded match the spacing of holes (D)
in the canopy (E) - see Drawings 1 and 2.
2. Attach mounting plate (B) to junction box (J), using screws (G) provided and then slip supply
wires through large center hole.

INSTALLATION. IF NEW WIRING IS REQUIRED, CONSULT A QUALIFIED
ELECTRICIAN OR LOCAL AUTHORITIES FOR CODE REQUIREMENTS.
Make electrical connections from supply wire to xture lead wires. Refer to instruction sheet (I.S.
18) and follow all instructions to make all necessary wiring connections. Then refer back to this
sheet to continue installation of this xture.
1. Hang the xture by slipping canopy (D) over screws (B) in the mounting strap - see Drawing 2.
2. Thread on ball knobs (E) onto the end of screws (B) and tighten to secure xture to ceiling.

1. To install glass, unthread knurled knob (2) in bracket (1) until glass can slip into brackets - see
Drawing 3.
2. Lamp xture accordingly at this point.
3. Slip glass (3) into brackets (1) and hand tighten knurled knobs (2) to secure glass.
Note: Maximum wattage for 3117 xture is 100 watts per bulb.
