■ Powerful gateway

Inside the PKV 40/PKV 50 you will find our
approved Fieldbus master module in combi­nation with a powerful 486 PC (PKV 40) and
586 PC (PKV 50). From standard Gateway
functionality to special applications: every­thing is possible. Develop your own applica­tions on the standard Windows® CE opera­tion system. All information and data from
the Fieldbus network is available on Ether­net for visualisation or other functions.
At present there is no Standard for the
depiction of the process data at the applica­tion say TCP/IP level. Because of this we use
the Microsoft® Windows® CE operating
system for the PKV 40 / 50 to be flexibly for
extensions of functions in form of tasks.The
development system is economical to crea­te and many engineers are familiar with the
system. Thus, we make all the interfaces
available so that the experienced user can
also bring his own applications on to the
Gateway for execution.

■ Integrated WEB-Server

A highlight of the PKV 40 / 50 is the integra-
ted Web Server. HTML pages can be created
on a corresponding editor and these can be
loaded onto the Gateway. By means of Java
Applets, process data can be included. All
that is still required is a Web Browser such
as Microsoft® Internet Explorer or Netsca­pe® in order to obtain access to the data of
the PKV 40 / 50 respectively via the Internet.

■ Standard IEC 61131 Run-Time

The PKV 50 can be used for standard machi­ne control functions. The 586 processor can
run a standard IEC 61131 Run-Time.
A special of the PKV 50 is the remanent
memory for recording data of the SoftPLC.

■ Proven and certified technology

A communication product is one of the
most important products in a machine. You
could have the most advanced controller,
most advanced drives and motor, but if your
communication doesn’t work,your machine
is not working. We use standard and proven
technology. If, for example, an ASIC fails in
combination with products from the mar­ket leaders, we will not use it. Our protocol
stacks are certified by the official labs from
the Fieldbus foundations. In addition, we
test our product to work with the market
leaders. We make sure our products work so
your products do work. It’s such simple...

■ Same configuration

The PKV 40/50 can be configured using the
same standard configuration software from
Hilscher. Configure the integrated Web Ser­ver, Ethernet interface and also the Fieldbus
master with one software tool.

■ Open Standards

We do not only support the standard Ether­net functionality but also the latest OPC
functionality. With Windows® CE and OPC
you will be able to write your own applica­tion in no time.
