AC inlet and fuse holder. Use the supplied AC cord to connect the unit to AC mains. Make sure voltage and frequency stated and set on the unit comply with your local AC supply. The fuse can be accessed by the small drawer at the AC inlet. To change the fuse, unplug the AC cord first, pull out the fuse drawer and replace the fuse ONLY with a fuse of SAME voltage and rating. If the fuse blows again after replacement, hand over the unit to qualified service personnel.
Power switch. Switches the unit on and off. Make sure to switch the unit off when not in use.
AC Voltage Selector Switch. Switches the AC supply voltage between 110/115V and 220/230V AC. See previous chapter for details.
Stereo Main outputs 1 and 2. These are a balanced stereo XLR outputs carrying the main output signals controlled by the individual main output level controls (36).
Stereo Main outputs 1 and 2. These are unbalanced RCA outputs carrying the same signal as outputs (4).
Maximum level setting for Stereo Main outputs. These controls allow to limit the maximum level at the outputs (4)/(5)/(8) in order to match the connected sound system. Adjustments made on this control will not be displayed by the output level meters (37)/(40). Adjustments shall be made with a small screw driver. Note that the total angle is 300 degrees; do not apply excessive force with the screw driver.
Mono Switch for Main 2 output. In pressed position, the left and right outputs of the Main 2 signal are summed to deliver a mono signal. Useful for installations where the connected speaker system does not allow stereo reproduction.
Mono Zone 1 output. This is a balanced stereo XLR output carrying the zone output signal controlled by the zone output level control (39).
100Hz Highpass (HP) filter for Zone 1 output. In pressed position, this switch removes frequencies below 100Hz from the Zone output, helping to adapt to zone speaker systems with limited low-frequency response (like ceiling speakers).
Mono Subwoofer output for Main 1 output. This is a balanced stereo XLR output carrying the low-frequency part of the Main 1 output signal. The relative volume between this low-frequency signal and the full-band signal can be controlled by the level control (11), while the absolute level is determined by the Main 1 output level setting (36). The roll-off frequency for the subwoofer outut can be adjusted via control (12).
Subwoofer level control. Determines the relative level of the Main 1 subwoofer output (10) to the Main 1 output (4).
Subwoofer roll-off frequency control. Sets the roll-0ff frequency of the internal active crossover. The upper roll-off point of the frequency band can be adjusted from 30Hz to 200Hz.

Effect Path Send/Return connectors. Depending on the setting of controls (24), (42) and (44), a signal either consiting of the microphone effects path (determined by controls [24]) or the MAIN bus signal is available at the SEND connector at a level set by effects send level control (42). This signal can be processed by an external effects processor and then be fed back into the MAIN bus via the RETURN connector, with the return level set by the effects return level control (43).
RECORD output. This unbalanced stereo RCA output carries the MAIN bus signal independent of the Main 1 and Main 2 level controls (36).
Line inputs. These RCA connectors provide inputs for line-level signals to the assigned channels.
Phono inputs. These RCA connectors provide inputs for phono-level signals with RIAA equalization to the assigned channels. The sensitivity can be switched to line level by means of the switches (17).
Sensitivity switch for Phono inputs. Sets the sensitivity of the Phono inputs (16) to Phono with RIAA equalization (pressed) or Line level (released).
FOH input. This is a ¼’’ TRS balanced stereo input specifically designed to allow the connection of the output of a stage mixer, in order to use the connected sound system for the replay of the stage mixer’s signal. This is useful in applications where apart from stereo source replay also live music is performed over the same sound system.
Microphone inputs for MIC1/2/3. and MIC2. These are balanced Combo XLR+¼” TRS connectors. Please note that no phantom power is available for these inputs, so they can only be used with dynamic microphones.
GAIN control for microphone inputs. Allows adjustment of the input sensitivity to compensate for different source volumes. To facilitate proper setting of microphone gain levels, each channel has an additional PEAK LED (21) which illuminates at 0dB to give indication when a suitable gain value is set.
PEAK LED for microphone input channels. Indicate when the level after the gain control (20) reaches 0dB, to allow proper input gain setting depending on the connected microphone.
COMPRESSOR control. This controls the threshold and make-up gain of the in-built compressor, with all other variables fixed (Ratio = 2:1, attack time approx. 25 msec, release time approx. 300 msec, “hard knee” characteristic). The threshold runs from +20….-5dB and the make-up gain runs from 0….+9dB as the control is rotated clockwise. This means that at the outmost counter-clockwise position, the compressor is effecitvely off, and at the outmost clockwise position will compress all signals peaks above -5dB with its set parameters.
Microphone Equalizer. Allows the adjustment of the tonal balance for both microphone simultaneously inputs in three voice-specific frequency bands with an adjustment range of ±12dB.
FX Assign switches. These switches allow the relative channel to be assigned to the effects bus, in order to send a signal to an external effects processor for generation of an effect. To make such microphone signal available for external processing, the switch (44) must be set to “Mic to FX” and the controls (42)/(43)/(45) must be set appropriately, as well as the controls on the external effects processor.
Microphone ON/OFF switches for MIC1/2/3. Enable and disable the relative microphone channels.

Input Gain control for Stereo Input channels. Allows to compensate for different source levels. To make a correct setting, observe the input level meter and set the Gain control to not exceed the 0dB mark.
Input Level Meters for Stereo Input channels. Display the signal level after the GAIN controls (28).
Equalizer for Stereo Input channels. Allows the adjustment of the tonal balance for each of the inputs seperately in three music-specific frequency bands with an adjustment range of
-26/+12dB, thus providing a virtual “kill” function for each frequency band if set to extreme attenuation.
PFL switch for Stereo Input channels. Assigns the respective channel to the headphone bus for pre-fader-listening (PFL) by means of the headphone output (51). A LED indicates the pressed position.
CROSSFADER assignment switch. Allows to send the respective channel’s signal either directly to the MAIN bus, or to the left side of the crossfader (34) when set to position “A”, or to the right side of the crossfader (34) when set to the position “B”. When all input channels are assigned directly to the MAIN bus, the crossfader (34) is disabled.
Level control for Stereo Input channels. 100mm high-grade dual-rail faders to set the volume for each stereo input channel.
CROSSFADER. A high-grade dual rail 45mm fader which determines the mix ratio between the stereo signals assigned to its left side the stereo signals assigned to its right side (via switches
32). The crossfader can be disabled setting all switches (32) to “MAIN”.
AUX Input for stereo CHANNEL 5. This is a 3.5mm Mini-TRS stereo socket which allows to connect sources like MP3 players etc. To activate this input, the input selector switch (27) of channel 5 must be set accordingly.
MAIN1 and MAIN2 output volume controls. These controls set the signal level at the MAIN1 and MAIN2 outputs (4)/(5) accordingly.
MAIN level meter. Displays the output level of either the MAIN1 or MAIN2 signal, depending on the setting of the display selector switch (38).
MAIN meter assign switch. Allows to select either the MAIN1 signal or the MAIN2 signal to be displayed on the main level meter (37).
ZONE1 output volume control. This control sets the signal level at the ZONE1 output (8) accordingly.
ZONE1 level meter. Displays the output level of the ZONE1 signal.
ZONE1 source selector switch. This switch allows to use either the MAIN bus as the source signal for the ZONE1 output, which makes the ZONE1 output merely a 3rd MAIN output, or to choose the LINE6 input signal as the source, making the ZONE1 output carrying an independent signal.

EFFECT SEND control. Determines the signal level present at the SEND jack (13) to be sent to an outside effects processor. The signal itself depends on the settings of switches (44) and (24).
EFFECT RETURN control. Determines the volume with which the effects signal coming back from an outside effects processor is added to the MAIN bus.
EFFECTS SOURCE switch. Toggles between the microphone effects bus (with the signal determined by switches [24]) and the MAIN bus as effect signal sources to be sent via the level control (42) to the effects SENT jack (13).
EFFECTS ENABLE/DISABLE switch. Pressing this switch will add the effects signal present at the effects RETURN jack (13) to the MAIN bus at the volume set by the RETURN control (43). Releasing this switch will remove the effects signal from the MAIN bus. A LED indicates the status (lit when pressed).
PFL Level control. Determines the signal volume at the headphone output (51). Always set this control to minimum before putting on headphones, as sudden high-volume impact may damage your ears.
PFL Mix control. Allows the headphone signal to be a mix of the MAIN output and the input(s) assigned to the PFL bus by means of switches (31). This control determines the mix ratio between the main and the PFL signal.
PFL Mode switch. This control offers two pre-listening modes: (A) Split. In this mode, the MAIN signal appears on one earcup of the headphones, the PFL signal on the other earcup. (B) Blend. In this mode, Main and PFL signal are mixed with adjustable ratio by means of control (46). A LED indicates the pressed position.
TALKOVER Threshold control. The setting of this control determines at which microphone level the automatic talkover starts to reduce the MAIN output level. In addition, the amount of reduction can be determined with the TALKOVER damping control (50).
TALKOVER Damping Control. This control determines the amount of damping applied to the MAIN signal when a microphone is spoken into. Fully turned clockwise, maximum attenuation is applied, being turned fully counter-clockwise, the talkover function is off. The threshold level from which on this function is enabled can be set by the TALKOVER threshold control (49).
HEADPHONES output. A ¼” TRS connector to connect a headphone. Turn the PFL level (46) down before plugging in any headphones.

Operation
A. Connections
For connecting this unit to AC mains, please note: Check whether the AC mains voltage and frequency is the same as this product is specified for (see
rear panel of product). Whenever the specified voltage or your AC plug should not match the local conditions, do NOT plug the AC cord into the wall outlet and contact you dealer immediately.
Do not operate this unit without the line cord earth ground connected. To do so may increase the risk of electric shock and increase line cord conducted emissions.
For making audio signal connections, always remember that good and reliable connections are a basic requirement for good sound and reliable operation. Bad soldering of cables can result in intermittent audio signals or temporarily lost ground connections, hence always use good cables. In case of doubt about making proper connections, please see check the standard pin assignments required for proper operation in the following section of this manual.
B. Powering up
Following a proper power-up sequence protects your equipment – specifically speakers – and your ears. Follow the below procedure:
Turn down all output volume controls of any equipment in your audio system. Switch on your audio sources first (Tuners, CD Players, PC’s with soundcards, Tapedecks, etc.) Switch on the audio mixer Switch on any audio processor between the mixer and the amplifier(s) [if any]. Switch on the amplifier(s). Turn up the audio level on your sources if such controls are provided. Set the audio output of your mixer to a low level. Set the audio output of any audio processor between the mixer and the amplifier(s) to a medium level [if any such processors]. Turn up the volume controls of your amplifier(s) slowly. Make adjustments to all volume settings as needed.
For switching off, follow the inverse sequence – always switch off your amplifier(s) first, then any processors between mixer and amplifier(s), then the mixer, then the sources.
C. Use
Apart from using good equipment, good sound comes from using it correctly. Level setting mistakes are one of the common reasons why even good equipment may not perform as desired. For setting levels, please be reminded that two guidelines need to be followed:
Avoid distortion by leaving some headroom. Never overrun any audio-equipment’s inputs. Level meters and displays allow you to make sure that signals do not enter critical levels.
Avoid unnecessary amplification by using as little attenuation as possible. For example, if you turn down the input gain of a mixer to minimum, and then increase the main output of the mixer to maxi mum to drive your amplifier properly, you will create unnecessary noise, as you first dispose of some already existing signal level, and then later apply amplification (tainted with noise) to make it up.
Obviously, these two requirements are marking a levelling window that the operator must match to achieve a good sound with as little distortion and noise as possible.
WARNING - HEALTH RISK
Excessive volume levels on headphones or other sound systems may cause hearing damage. Always turn the volume control to minimum when you switch the unit on, and avoid prolonged exposure to sound pressure levels exceeding 90dB.

Maintenance and warranty
While we have chosen the best components to make this product as rugged and reliable as possible, some parts in audio products (potentiometers, faders, switches) are subject to wear which is a matter of operation cycles, and not of time. While providing a full time-based warranty according to the country’s of purchase requirements on the function of the electronic circuitry, we hence have to limit the warranty on such electro-mechanical parts to 90 days from the date of purchase.
In many cases, malfunction of electro-mechanical parts occurs due to dust contamination, which may require cleaning of such parts. As the inside of such parts is not accessible, a common practice is to use cleaning fluids in the shape of sprays. Please be reminded that many of such fluids contain chemicals which may wash away the dust but at the same time corrode or damage contact surface and may cause cosmetic damage to other parts. We hence explicitly exclude any claims for exchange of damaged part due to mechanical or chemical impact.
