GENERAL SAFETY RULES
WARNING!
Read all instructions
Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in
electric shock, fi re and/or serious injur y.
The term “power tool” in all of the warnings listed below
refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or
batter y-operated (cordless) power tool.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
1) Wo rk area
a) Keep work area clean and well lit.
Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence of
fl ammable liquids, gases or dust.
Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust
of fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while
operating a power tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2) Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet.
Never modify the plug in any way.
Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed
(grounded) power tools.
Unmodifi ed plugs and matching outlets will reduce
risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded
surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and
refrigerators.
There is an increased risk of electric shock if your
body is earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet
conditions.
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of
electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for
carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool.
Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or
moving parts.
Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of
electric shock.
e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an
extension cord suitable for outdoor use.
Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the
risk of electric shock.
3) Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use
common sense when operating a power tool.
Do not use a power tool while you are tired
or under the infl uence of drugs, alcohol or
medication.
A moment of inat tention while operating power tools
may result in serious personal injury.
b) Use safety equipment. Always wear eye
protection.
Safety equipment such as dust mask, non-skid
saf ety shoes, hard h at, or hea ring p rotection used f or
appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c) Avoid accidental starting. Ensure the switch is
in the off position before plugging in.
Carr ying power tools with your fi nger on the switch
or plugging in power tools that have the switch on
invites accidents.

d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before
turning the power tool on.
A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating par t of
the power tool may result in personal injur y.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and
balance at all times.
This enables better control of the power tool in
unexpected situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear looses clothing or
jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves
away from moving parts.
Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught
in moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the connection of
dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure
these are connected and properly used.
Use of these devices can reduce dust related
hazards.
4) Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct
power tool for your application.
The correct power tool will do the job better and
safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not
turn it on and off .
Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the
switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power source
before making any adjustments, changing
accessories, or storing power tools.
Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of
starting the power tool accidentally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of
children and do not allow persons unfamiliar
with the power tool or these instructions to
operate the power tool.
Power to ols are dangero us in the hands of untrained
users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment
or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts
and any other condition that may aff ect the
power tools operation.
If damaged, have the power tool repaired
before use.
Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained
power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting
edges a re less likely to bi nd and are easier t o control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits
etc., in accordance with these instructions and
in the manner intended for the particular type
of power tool, taking into account the working
conditions and the work to be performed.
Use of the power tool for operations diff erent from
intended could result in a hazardous situation.
5) Service
a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualifi ed
repair person using only identical replacement
parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is
maintained.
PRECAUTION
Keep children and infi rm persons away.
When not in use, tools should be stored out of reach
of children and infi rm persons.

CAUTIONS WHEN USING BLOWER
1. Use only the voltage shown on the nameplate to
supply power.
Using a voltage higher than shown will increase the
rotation speed abnormally and can cause injuries.
2. Do not put your hands or face near the blower
opening during use.
Doing so might lead to injuries.
3. Remove this unit a safe distance away from
electrical conductors when cleaning sections
carrying electrical power such as the electrical
panel.
4. Do not block the blower opening or intake.
Blocking the blower opening will cause an increase in
the motor rotation speed abnorm ally and might damage
the vanes on the inner section of the unit or cause
injuries. The motor might also overheat and cause a
fi re.
5. Do not use in locations where infl ammable
materials such as lacquer, paint, benzene, thinner
or gasoline are present. Also do not let items such
as lighted cigarette butts be suctioned inside at
such locations.
Explosion or fi res might result.
6. Do not use in environments subject to heavy
doses of chemicals, etc.
Plastic sections such as the vanes on the inner section
of the unit might weaken and break, and injuries might
occur.
7. If you notice the unit is operating poorly or making
abnormal noises, immediately stop using and shut
off the power switch. Request an inspection and
repair from the dealer where you purchased the
unit or a HiKOKI Authorized Service Center.
Continuing to use while operating abnormally might
cause injuries.
8. If the unit is mistakenly dropped or strikes another
object, make a thorough check of the unit for
cracks, breakage or deformation, etc.
Injuries might occur if the unit has cracks, breakage or
deformation.
9. Do not use near objects generating high heat such
as stoves.
Fires might occur if used near such locations.
10. Make a thorough inspection if using the blower to
blow or clean viscous powder or dust particles.
Powder or dust particles might be suctioned in and
adhere internally, causing the vanes to break or injuries
to occur.
11. Do not leave on locations such as benches or
fl oors while still rotating.
Injuries might occur.
12. Read the instructions carefully. Be familiar with
the controls and the proper use of the appliance.
13. Never allow children to use the appliance.
14. Never allow people unfamiliar with these
instructions to use the appliance. Local
regulations may restrict the age of the operator.
15. Never operate the appliance while people,
especially children, or pets are nearby.
16. The operator or user is responsible for accidents
or hazards occurring to other people or their
property.
17. While operating the appliance, always wear
substantial footwear and long trousers.
18. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry that can be
drawn into the air inlet. Keep long hair away from
the air inlets.
19. Wear protective goggles while operating.
20. To prevent dust irritation the wearing of a face
mask is recommended.
21. Before using, check the supply and extension
cord for signs of damage and aging. Do not use
the appliance if the cord is damaged or worn.
22. Never operate the appliance with defective guards
or shields, or without safety devices, for example
debris collector in place.
23. Only use a weather proof extension cable fi tted
with a coupler according to IEC 60320-2-3.
24. Always direct the cable to the rear away from the
appliance.
25. If a cord b ecomes dam aged during u se, disconn ect
the supply cord from the mains immediately.

26. Do not carry the appliance by the cable.
27. Disconnect the appliance from the mains supply.

accessories.
38. Store the appliance only in a dry place.

PRIOR TO OPERATION
1. Power source
Ensure that the power source to be utilized conforms
to the power requirements specifi ed on the product
nameplate.
2. Power switch
Ensure that the power switch is in the OFF positon. If
the plug is connected to a receptacle while the power
switch is in the ON position, the power tool will start
operating immediately, which could cause a serious
accident.
3. Extension cord
When the work area is removed from the power source,
use an extension cord of suffi cient thickness and rated
capaci ty. The extension cord should be kept a s short as
practicable.
4. Mounting the nozzle and dust bag
MOUNTING AND DISMOUNTING THE NOZZLE
AND DUST BAG
1. Mounting the NozzIe
Insert the pin located outside the nozzle into the notch
provided on the blast port, and fully turn the noz zle in
the direction indicated by the arrow in Fig. 1.
To dismount the nozzle.,folIow the above procedures in
reverse.
2. When using the Blower for dust collection
(1) Mounting the Dust Bag
Mount the dust bag on the blast port, following the
same procedure described above for mounting of
the nozzle (Fig. 2).
(2) Mounting the nozzle
Insert the pin located on the outside of the nozzle
into the notch provided on the suction por t, and
fully turn the nozzle in the direction indicated by the
arrow in Fig. 3.
HOW TO USE THE BLOWER
1. By pulling the trigger and pushing the stopper, the
switch will remain in the ON position even when the
trigger is released, promoting effi cient, continuous
operation. By pulling the trigger again, the stopper is
disengaged and the switch is turned OFF when the
trigger is released.
2. O n the RB40VA, the pull ing force on the sw itch changes
the amount of blow force. The maximum amount of
blow force can be adjusted with the speed control dial
(Fig. 4).
3. An excessively large volume of dust in the dust bag
will reduce the dust collecting effi ciency of the blower.
Frequently empty the d ust bag to ensure m aximum dust
collecting effi ciency.
MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION
1. Inspecting the mounting screws
Regularly inspect all mounting screws and ensure that
they are properly tightened. Should any of the screws
be loose, retighten them immediately. Failure to do so
could result in serious hazard.
2. Inspecting the carbon brushes (Fig. 5)
The motor employs carbon brushes which are
consumable parts. Since an excessively worn carbon
brush can result in motor trouble, replace the carbon
brush with a new one having the same carbon brush
No. shown in the fi gure when it becomes worn to or
near the “wear limit”. In addition, always keep carbon
brushes clean and ensure that they slide freely within
the brush holders.
3. Replacing carbon brushes
Disassemble the brush cap with a screwdriver. The
carbon brush can then be easily removed.
4. Maintenance of the motor
The motor unit winding is the ver y “heart ” of the power
tool.
Exercise due care to ensure the winding does not
become damaged and/or wet with oil or water.

5) Revisión

PRECAUCIONES DE USO DEL SOPLADOR
1. Utilice únicamente una fuente de alimentación

aumento anormal de la velocidad de rotación del motor

unidad o b ien producir se lesiones. Ade más, también s e
podría sobrecalentar el motor y provocar un incendio.
5. No utilice la máquina en lugares en los que
haya materiales infl amables como laca, pintura,
benceno, disolvente o gasolina. No permita
tampoco que se aspiren elementos como colillas
encendidas en dichas ubicaciones.
Se puede producir una explosión o un incendio.
6. No utilice la máquina en entornos sujetos a altas
dosis de sustancias químicas, etc.
Las partes de plástico, como son los vanos de la parte
interior de la unidad, podrían debilitarse y romperse, y
producirse lesiones.
7. Si observa que la unidad funciona mal o que emite
ruidos extraños, deje de usarla inmediatamente
y apague el interruptor de encendido. Solicite

8. Si la unidad se cae o choca accidentalmente con

unidad para comprobar si presenta alguna raja,
rotura, deformación, etc.

9. No utilice la unidad cerca de objetos que generen

10. Realice una inspección exhaustiva si utiliza el

14. No permita que personas no familiarizadas con

mismo.
16. El operador o el usuario serán los responsables

de protección y pantalones largos.
18. No use ropa suelta ni joyas que puedan ser
arrastradas hacia la entrada de aire. Mantenga el

20. Para evitar la irritación provocada por el polvo se
recomienda utilizar una mascarilla facial.
21. Antes de su uso, compruebe el cable de

aparato si el cable está dañado o gastado.
22. No uti lice el apar ato con cubie rtas o reves timiento s
defectuosos, o sin dispositivos de seguridad,

1. Montar la tobera
Inserte la patilla situada en el exterior de la boquilla
en la ranura del puerto de expulsión, y gire la boquilla
totalmente en la dirección que indica la fl echa en la
Fig. 1.
Desmontar la tobera, seguir los procedimientos
antedichos a la inversa.
2. Al usar el soplador para la colección de polvo
(1) Montar el colector de polvo
Montar el colector de polvo en el acceso de aire
de soplado siguiendo los mismos procedimientos
descritos arriba para montar la tobera (Fig. 2).
(2) Montar la tobera
Inserte la patilla situada en la par te exterior de la
boquilla en la ranura del puerto de succión y gire
la boquilla totalmente en la dirección que indica la

COMO USAR EL SOPLADOR
1. Aprentando el pulsador y apretando hacia abajo el
dispositivo de ajuste, el conmutador se quedará en
la posición ON (conectado), incluso si se suelta el
pulsador, promoviendo una operación continuada
y efi ciente. Al apretar el pulsador de nuevo se suelta
el dispositivo de ajuste y el pulsador se pone en OFF
(des conecta do).
2. En el modelo RB40VA, la fuerza de tracción del
interruptor cambia la cantidad de la fuerza de
aspiración. La cantidad máxima de la fuerza de
aspiración se puede ajustar con el cuadrante de control
de velocidad (Fig. 4).

MANTENIMIENTO E INSPECCION
1. Inspeccionar los tornillos de montaje
Regularmente inspeccionar todos los tornillos de
montaje y asegurarse de que estén apretados

volver a apretarlo inmediatamente. El no hacer esto

2. Inspección de escobillas de carbón (Fig. 5)
El motor emplea carbones de contacto que son
partes consumibles. Como un carbón de contacto
excesivamente desgastado podría dar problemas
al motor, reemplazar el carbón de contacto por uno
nuevo, que tenga el mismo número mostrado en la
fi gura, cuando se haya desgastado o esté cerca del
límite de uso. Adicionalmente, mantener siempre los
carbones de contacto limpios y asegurarse de que
corran libremente dentro de los sujetadores de carbón.
3. Reemplazar el carbón de contacto
Quitar la cápsula de carbón con un destornillador con
cabeza pequeña. El carbón de contacto se deja luego
se quita facilmente.
4. Mantenimiento del motor
La unidad de bobinado del motor es el verdadero
“corazón” de las herramientas eléctricas. Prestar el
mayor cuidado y asegurarse de que el bobinado no se
dañe y/o se humedezca con aceite o agua.

2. 吹風機用於集塵時
(1) 吸塵袋的安裝
將吸塵袋裝於吹風口。安裝步驟與上述的噴嘴

(2) 噴嘴的安裝
將噴嘴外銷插入進氣口的凹口，將噴嘴朝圖3
中的箭頭所示方向轉到底。
電動吹風機的使用方法
1. 拉扳機，按鎖檔，那麼即使釋放扳機，開關也會
留在接通（ON）位置，即可提高效率又可連續操
作。再拉一下扳機，鎖檔就解除，扳機一釋放，
開關就關掉（OFF）。
2. 對於RB40VA而言，開關的拉力可以改變吹起力的
大小程度。可以通過速度控制撥盤（圖4）調整最
大吹起力。
3. 吸塵袋內積塵過多，將會降低吹風機的集塵效
果，因此，要經常將吸塵袋倒空，以收到最佳集
塵效果。
維護和檢查
1. 檢查安裝螺釘
要經常檢查安裝螺釘是否緊固妥善。若發現螺釘
鬆了，應立即重新扭緊，否則會導致嚴重的事
故。
2. 檢查碳刷（圖5)
馬達使用碳刷，它是消耗部品，因此使用過久的
碳刷將會導致馬達故障，用具有相同碳刷號的新
碳刷去更換舊的，碳刷編號用數字表示碳刷何時
用舊或接近於磨損極限此外，要經常保持碳刷清
潔以及保證它在刷握裡能自由滑動。
3. 更換碳刷
用無頭螺絲刀卸下碳刷蓋、然後可以很容易的取
下碳刷。
4. 電動機的維護
電動機繞線是電動工具的心臟部。應仔細檢查有
無損傷，是否被油液或水沾濕。
