1. HighPoint RocketStor 6324U
The RocketStor 6324U is optimized for today's fastest USB
3.0 devices, and is well suited for a wide-range of
applications including portable/removable storage, storage
expansion, personal media libraries, and backup solutions.
Powered by a Thunderbolt™ 2 host interface and four
dedicated 5Gb/s USB 3.0 controllers, the RocketStor 6324U is

4.2 Connecting the RocketStor 6324U (RS6324U)
Steps:
1) Connect the Power Adapter to the RocketStor 6324U.
2) Connect the RocketStor 6324U to the host system using a
Thunderbolt™ cable.

4.3 Driver installation
1) Driver Installation: Mac OS X
Apple Mac OS X 10.8.6 or later includes driver support for
the RocketStor 6324U and will automatically recognize the
device after booting up.
To verify the RS6324U driver status;
Click the Apple icon on top left of the screen, and select
About This Mac, and then select More Info. Next, select
System Report, and click PCI Cards on left side of the
System Information pane. The Driver Installed entry for
controller pci1b21, 1142 should be “Yes”

2) Enable the Apple device charging support
RocketStor 6324U can support Apple iPhone or iPad device
charging under Mac OS X. To enable the device charging, it is
required to install the driver. Please visit
http://www.highpointtech.com/USA_new/series_RS6324U-resources.htm,
download and install the HighPoint RocketStor 6324U
Charging Support driver:
a. Double click the .dmg file to extract the package.
b. Double click the .pkg package to start the installation.
c. Follow the on screen instruction to complete the driver install.
d. Once the installation is completed, the RocketStor 6324U can
support Apple device installation now.

5. Using the Storage with Mac OS X
Any previously used USB disk attached to the RS6324U will
be recognized automatically.
5.1 Initializing new storage under Mac OS X.
1) After a new disk is installed, OS X will display a pop-up
window with options to initialize, Ignore or Eject. Click
Initialize to open Disk Utility.
2) Select the target volume and click the Erase tab. Enter a
name in the Name: field, and click the Erase button
towards the bottom right-hand corner, to format the disk.

3) After the new storage drive is erased, the new storage
volume icon will be found on the desktop and finder as a
new disk volume.
Note: The RS6324U supports Thunderbolt™ power management.
While the RS6324U is connected to the host system using the
Thunderbolt™ cable, shutting down the host will automatically
power down the RS6324U.
