2 YEAR CUSTOMER CARE WARRANTY
Congratulations on your new purchase and thank you for choosing HIGHLAND.
All Highland domestic appliances come with a 2 year parts and labour warranty. Highland will correct, free of charge, any defects in material or workmanship for the period of 2 years, subject to the terms of our warranty stated below. At Highland we place great importance on customer satisfaction and that is why we have established a dedicated and experienced customer support team that you can rely on.
Should you ever need to make a warranty related enquiry about your Highland product simply call +61 3 9700 9100 to speak with our friendly customer service consultants. We suggest you have the following information close at hand to make the process as easy as possible.
1. Model number of your appliance
2. Serial number of your appliance
3. A copy of your original purchase receipt
4. Address details of where the appliance is installed
This warranty will be null and void if the appliance is used for outdoor and commercial purposes. Some examples of outdoor and commercial purposes include restaurants, cafés, schools, clubs, and alfresco areas with open walls or hoods used above barbecues. Please note: The benefits provided by this warranty are in addition to all other rights and remedies in respect to the product which the consumer has under the Trades Practices Act 1974 and/or any other State and Territory Laws.
1. This warranty only applies for products installed by a qualified person and when provided with a certificate of compliance in accordance with State/Territory laws.
2. This product must be used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. This warranty does not apply should the defect in or failure of the product be attributable to misuse, abuse, accident or non-observation of the manufactures instructions on the part of the user. Highland Appliances does not accept liability for any direct or consequential loss, damage or other expense caused by or arising out of any failure to install or use the product in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
3. The warranty does not cover failures due to normal wear and tear with reasonable use or consumable components such as globes, filters, etc.
4. Highland Appliances, at its own discretion may replace or repair any defective component(s) to affect a repair due to any faulty workmanship and material. The warranty does not cover breakage of outer glass panels attributed to external damage.
5. The warranty provided is a “Repair Warranty” and in an extreme event if a repair cannot take place, a replacement will be provided of an equivalent current model where the balance of the warranty period from the original date of purchase will take effect.
6. This warranty is immediately void if the serial or model number label is removed, defaced, serviced or repaired by an unauthorised/unqualified personal or used for industrial/commercial purposes.
7. Warranty will be only provided when a proof of the original purchase is presented to an authorised dealer or reseller before or at the time of service.
8. This warranty does not cover any corrosion or defect as a result of the product being installed in an environment in which the appliance is not protected from the weather.
9. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure the appliance is easily accessible for a service technician to carry out required repairs. Any obstruction prohibiting access to the product by building materials of any kind will be required to be removed and reinstalled by the customer.
10. Labour in excess of 1 hour is not covered by the warranty.
11. This warranty covers the first 50km travelled by a repair technician to the appliance location and return. Any travel in
excess of 50km each way is not covered by the warranty.
Highland has a service network in all metropolitan areas and most regional areas. Where the warranty claim has been made outside a radius of 50km from any store where the product can be purchased, the customer is responsible for the cost of delivery to the nearest service agent or the travel cost for a technician to travel to a location outside the 50km radius.
YOUR STATUTORY RIGHTS
Highland Products fully assures all customers that our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
You are also entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. The benefits under Highland’s warranty are in addition to other rights you have at law in relation to the Appliances or services to which the warranty relates.

This appliance conforms to the requirements of AS/NZS 60335.2.6
Check for any damage or marks. If you find th e appliance is damaged or marked, you must report it within 7 days if you wish to claim for damage/marks under the manufacturer’s warranty. This does not affect your statutory rights.
General This appliance complies with current safety requirements.
The appliance is intended for domestic use only: cooking, baking, roasting, grilling, defrosting and heating of food. It is not designed for industrial or laboratory use. Only use the appliance for its intended purpose. Improper use of the appliance can lead to personal injury and property damage. The manufacturer is not liable for personal injury, product or property damage caused by improper use of this oven.
Those who lack physical, sensory or mental abilities, or experience with the appliance should not use it without supervision or instruction by a responsible person.
Children Children should not be left unattended in an area where the appliance is in use.
Never allow children to hang or lean on any part of the appliance. CAUTION! Do not store items of interest to children in cabinets above an oven.
Children climbing on the oven to reach these items could be injured. Children should not use th e unit without supervision unless its operation has been
sufficiently explained so they can use it safely. Children m ust be able to understand potential hazards or improper operation.
Do not allow childr en to touc h or pla y in, on or n ear t he o ven when it is in opera tion. The oven gets hot at th e oven door glass, the cool ing exhaust, the handle an d the operating controls. Use extra care to avoid burns.
Installation An authorised/qualified person must install this appliance. (Certificate of
compliance to be retained). Before installation occurs, make sure that the voltage
and frequency listed on the data plate correspond with the household’s electrical supply to prevent personal injury and/or damage to the appliance.
Make sure your appliance is properly installed and grounded by a qualified technician.
CAUTION: The applianc e must be effectively grounded to guarant ee the electrical safety. If in doubt, have the electric al system of the house checked by a qualified electrician. The manufacturer is not liable for damages caused by the lack of inadequacy of an eff ective groun ding system or the failure to adhere to n ational a nd local electrical codes.
The oven should not to be operated until it has been properly installed.

Installation, maintenance and repair work should be performed by a factory authorized service tech nician. Work by unqualif ied pers ons could be dang erous and may void the warranty.
Before installation or service, disconnect the power supply to the work area by removing the fuse, tripping the circuit breaker or shutting off the power main.
WARNING! ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD!
Disconnect electrica l power at the circuit break er box or fuse box before inst alling the appliance.
Provide appropriate grounding for the appliance. Use copper conductors only. Failure to follow these instructions could result in serious injury or death. CAUTION! Label all wires prior to disconnecting when servicing controls. Wiring
errors can cause improper and dangerous operation. Verify proper operation after servicing.
Oven use WARNING! Ovens can produce high temperatures that can cause burns.
Before using the applianc e, ensure that all pack ing materials are removed f rom the appliance.
Prevent children from touching the app lianc e whi le in u s e. Use heat-resistant potholders when placing items in the oven, turning them, or
removing them from the oven. The upper heating element and oven racks can become very hot and cause burns.
To prevent burns, a lways place oven rac ks at their de sired height whi le the oven is cool.
Open the door carefully to allow hot air or steam to escape before placing or removing food.
To prevent burns, allow the heating element to cool before cleaning by hand. During the self-cleaning function the oven will become very hot. Prevent children
from coming in contact with the oven. Remove all accessories f rom the oven before starting a self-clean cycle. The high
temperatures needed for this program will damage the accessories. The door gasket is essential for a good seal. Care should be taken not to wear,
damage or remove the gasket. Only clean parts listed in this manual.
CAUTION: Heating elements may be hot even though they are not glowing. During and after use, do not let clothing or other flammable materials come in contact with heating elements or interior surfaces of the oven until they have had sufficient time to cool. External parts of the oven such as the door glass, vents, and the control panel ca n bec o m e hot.
Do not block the exhaus t v ents. Aluminium foil should not be used to line the bottom of the oven cavity.
Do not place pots, pans or baking sheets directly on the bottom of the oven cavity.
Do not slide pots or pans on the oven floor. This could scratch and damage the surface enamel.
Do not let metal obj ects (aluminium foil, pans) or th e meat probe come in contac t with the heating element.
Do not sit or step on the oven door. Do not place heavy items on the open oven door, as this may cause glass fractures.

Only use the food probe supplied with the oven. Contact Highland Service if you need to purchase a new probe.
To prevent damage, remove the food probe from the oven when it is not being used. Do not heat unopened contai ners of food in the oven, pressure may build up and
cause them to explode. Never add water to food on a hot tray or pan, or directly onto food in a hot o ve n. T he
steam generated could cause serious burns or scalds. This oven must only be used for cooking. Do not us e it as a dryer, kiln, deh um idifier,
etc. Fumes or vapours given off by glues, plastics or flammable liquids and materials could be hazardous.
Never store flammable liquids and materials in, above or under an oven, or near cooking surfaces.
Do not use the appliance to store or dehydrate flammable materials. This is a fire hazard.
Do not use the oven to heat the room. When baking frozen pizzas or pies, place them on the rack lined with parchment
paper. Frozen food like French fries, fish sticks, c hicken fingers etc. can be baked on the baking tray.
Always check that food is suff iciently heat ed. The tim e required varies depe nding on a number of factors, such as initial temperature, quantity of food, type and consistency of the food, and recipe. Germs pres ent in the f ood are killed off only at a sufficiently high temperature (> 158F / 70C) and after a sufficiently long time (10 minutes or longer). Select a longer cooking tim e if you are unsure whether the food is thoroughly heated. T o ensure temperature is distr ibuted evenly, stir food before serving.
It is recommended to cover all cook ed food that is left in the o ven to be kept warm . This will prevent moisture from condensing on the interior of the oven.
Be careful when cooking with alcoholic beverages lik e rum, whiskey, wine etc. The alcohol evaporates at hi gh temperatur es but may in rar e circumstances combust on the hot heating elements.
Other Do not use a steam cleaner to clean the oven. Steam could penetrate electrical
components and cause a short. Do not leave the oven unattended when cooking with oils or fats, they are a fire
hazard if overheated. Do not use water on grease fires! Smother the fire with a properly rated dry chemical
or foam fire extinguisher. Be aware of loose or hangi ng garments whi le operating the c ooktop, the y present a
fire hazard. Make certain that the po wer cords of small applia nces do not come in contact with
or get caught in the oven door. Use only dry, heat-resistant potholders. Moist or damp potholders used on hot
surfaces m ay result in steam burns. Do not let potholders come in contac t with oil s. Do not substitute towels or other bulky items for potholders.

Electrical connection An authorised/qualified person must install this appliance. (Certificate
of compliance to be retained). CAUTION: Before installing the oven, disconnect the power supply by either
removing the fuse, shutting off the power main or manually tripping the circuit breaker.
Installation work and repairs should only be performed by a qualified technician in accorda nce with all applicable codes and standards. Repairs and service by unqual ified persons could b e dangerous and may void the warranty. The manufacturer is not liable for personal injury, product or property damage caused by serviced performed by unqualified persons.
Before connecting the appliance to the power supply, make sure that the voltage and frequency listed on the data plate correspond with the household electrical supply. This data must correspond to prevent damage to the product. Consult an electrician if in doubt.
Only operate the appliance after it has been installed in a cabinet.
Power supply The electric connection must comply with the current legal standards and
regulations. Before making the connection, check that:
- The system electrical rating and the current outlets are adequate for the maximum power output of the appliance (s ee the r ati n g plat e ap pl ied to back of the cooker).
- The outlet or the system is equip ped with an eff icient ground connecti on in accordance with the cur rent legal standards and regulations . The company will not be responsible for the non-compliance with these instructions
A dedicated line and junction box should be used to connect the oven to a 30A circuit.
L (phase) = brown wire; N (neutral) = blue wire;

Types of power cords The appliance is equipped with a terminal for the electric connection placed
behind, which is accessible by removing the posterior casing.
The cookers that can also be connected to three-phase systems normally ar e factory built for the single-phase 230V connection and are supp l ied with a power cord. Based on the connection system used, install the power cord type indicated in table No. 1 To use the selected connection system change the jumpers on the terminal strip as indicated in the diagram of Fig.

CARING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
Disposal of packing materials The cardboard box and packing materials protect the appliance during
shipping. Ensure that any plastic wrappings, bags, etc. are disposed of safely and kept out of the reach of children. Danger of suffocation!
Disposal of an old appliance Old appliances m ay contain materials that can be r ecycled. Please contac t
your local recycling authority about the possibility of recycling these materials. Make sure that the appliance presents no danger to children while being stored for dis p o s al. Before discarding an old app li ance, unplug it from the outlet and cut off its power cord. Remove any doors to prevent trapping hazards.
