PowerProx VEHICLE TRANSPONDER ID TAG Installation Manual

Overview

The Vehicle Transponder ID tag, a 3.7 x 2.7-inch rectangular tag is mounted to the inside of your vehicle’s
windshield. This tag has an adhesive backing with a release liner t o provide pr ot ect ion until installation can
be obtained. For best results mount tag to lower left (driver’s) side of windshield. If this can not be
obtained locate tag anywhere in the far left ( dr iver’s) side. See

Installation Procedure:

1. The tag may be in a tr ansport ( lock mode), in which case it does not transmit data to the reader. I f
so, it may be taken out of lock mode by bringing it into read r ange of a HID MaxiProx reader f or
approximately 12 seconds. This may be done either before or after installation into the vehicle. Once
this is d one, t he t ag will oper at e normally.

2. Determine the appropriate mounting position of the tag. Clean area completely free from greas e, oil or
any other debris, using rubbing alcohol or glass cleaner.

3. Remove the release liner from Velcro strips. Position and place str ips f irmly against back of tag.
