WARNING: When using electrical products, basic cautions should always be followed, including the

7. Do not block any of the ventilation openings. Install in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
8. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other apparatus (including
amplifiers) that produce heat.
9. An apparatus with Class I construction shall be connected to a mains socket outlet with a protective
connection. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has
two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong.
The wide blade or third prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet,
consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles,
and the point they exit from the apparatus.
11. Only use attachments/accessories provided by the manufacturer.
12. Use only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the
apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury
from tip-over.
13. The mains plug or appliance coupler is used as the disconnect device and shall remain readily operable.
The user should allow easy access to any mains plug, mains coupler and mains switch used in conjunction
with this unit thus making it readily operable. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused
for long periods of time.
14. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been
damaged in any way, such as when power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects
have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate
normally, or has been dropped.
15. Never break off the ground pin. Connect only to a power supply of the type marked on the unit adjacent
to the power supply cord.
16. If this product is to be mounted in an equipment rack, rear support should be provided.
17. Note for UK only: If the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this unit do not correspond with the
terminals in your plug‚ proceed as follows:
a) The wire that is coloured green and yellow must be connected to the terminal that is marked by the
letter E‚ the earth symbol‚ coloured green or coloured green and yellow.
b) The wire that is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal that is marked with the letter N or
the colour black.
c) The wire that is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal that is marked with the letter L or
the colour red.
18.This electrical apparatus should not be exposed to dripping or splashing and care should be taken not to
place objects containing liquids, such as vases, upon the apparatus.
19. Exposure to extremely high noise levels may cause a permanent hearing loss. Individuals vary
considerably in susceptibility to noise-induced hearing loss, but nearly everyone will lose some hearing if
exposed to sufficiently intense noise for a sufficient time.
The U.S. Government’s Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA) has specified the following permissible noise
level exposures: According to OSHA, any exposure in excess of the
above permissible limits could result in some hearing loss. Earplugs or
protectors to the ear canals or over the ears must be worn when
operating this amplification system in order to prevent a permanent
hearing loss, if exposure is in excess of the limits as set forth above.
To ensure against potentially dangerous exposure to high sound
pressure levels, it is recommended that all persons exposed to
equipment capable of producing high sound pressure levels such as
this amplification system be protected by hearing protectors while
this unit is in operation.

12. Lors de l’utilsation sur pied ou pole de support, assurez dans le cas de déplacement de l’ensemble
enceinte/support de prévenir tout basculement intempestif de celui-ci.
13. Les forces branchent ou le coupleur d'appareils est utilisé pendant que le dispositif de débranchement et
restera aisément fonctionnel. L'utilisateur devrait permettre l'accès facile à toutes les forces prise, à forces
coupleur et à commutateur de forces utilisé en même temps que cette unité le rendant de ce fait aisément

14. Seul un technicien agréé par le fabriquant est à même de réparer/contrôler votre unité. Celle-ci doit être

16. Si votre unité est destinée a etre montée en rack, des supports arriere doivent etre utilises.
17. Note pour les Royaumes-Unis: Si les couleurs de connecteurs du cable d’alimentation ne correspond pas
au guide de la prise secteur, procédez comme suit:
a) Le connecteur vert et jaune doit être connectrer au terminal noté E, indiquant la prise de terre ou
correspondantaux couleurs verte ou verte et jaune du guide.
b) Le connecteur bleu doit être connectrer au terminal noté N, correspondnat à la couleur noire du guide.
c) Le connecteur marron doit être connectrer au terminal noté L, correspondant à la couleur rouge du
guide.
18. Cet équipement électrique ne doit en aucun cas être en contact avec un quelconque liquide et aucun objet
contenant un liquide, vase ou autre ne devrait être posé sur celui-ci.
19. Une exposition à de hauts niveaux sonores peut conduire à des dommages de l’écoute irréversibles. La
susceptibilité au bruit varie considérablement d’un individu à l’autre, mais une large majorité de la population
expériencera une perte de l’écoute après une exposition à une forte puissance sonore pour une durée
prolongée.
L’organisme de la santé américaine (OSHA) a produit le guide cidessous en rapport à la perte occasionnée:
D’après les études menées par le OSHA, toute exposition au delà des
limites décrites ce-dessus entrainera des pertes de l’écoute chez la
plupart des sujets. Le port de système de protection (casque, oreilette
de filtrage,…) doit être observé lors de l’opération cette unité ou des
dommages irréversibles peuvent être occasionnés. Le port de ces
systèmes doit être observé par toutes personnes susceptibles d’être
exposées à des conditions au delà des limites décrites ci-dessus.

9. Ein Apparat mit Aufbau der Kategorie I wird an einen Hauptleitungseinfaßungsanschluß mit einem schützenden
Anschluss angeschlossen. Beeinträchtigen Sie nicht die Sicherheitswirkung des gepolten Steckers bzw. des
Erdungssteckers. Ein gepolter Stecker weistzwei Stifte auf, von denen einer breiter ist als der andere. Ein
Erdungsstecker weist zwei Stifte und einen dritten Erdungsstift auf.Der breite Stift bzw. der dritte Stift dient Ihrer
Sicherheit. Sollte der beiliegende Stecker nicht in Ihre Steckdose passen, wenden Sie sich bitte an einen Elektriker,
um die ungeeignete Steckdose austauschen zu lassen.
10. Schützen Sie das Netzkabel, sodass niemand darauf tritt oder es geknickt wird, insbesondere an Steckern oder
Buchsen und ihren Austrittsstellen aus dem Gerät.
11. Verwenden Sie nur die vom Hersteller erhältlichen Zubehörgeräte oder Zubehörteile.
12. Verwenden Sie nur einen Wagen, Stativ, Dreifuß, Träger oder Tisch, der den Angaben des Herstellers entspricht
oder zusammen mit dem Gerät verkauft wurde. Wird ein Wagen verwendet, bewegen Sie den Wagen mit dem
darauf befindlichen Gerät besonders vorsichtig, damit er nicht umkippt und möglicherweise jemand verletzt wird.
13. Die Hauptleitungen verstopfen, oder Gerätekoppler wird während die Trennung Vorrichtung benutzt und wird
bereitwillig funktionell bleiben. Der Benutzer sollte einfachen Zugang zu allen möglichen Hauptleitungen Stecker,
zu den Hauptleitungen Koppler und zum Hauptleitungen Schalter erlauben, der in Verbindung mit dieser

ist erforderlich, wenn das Gerät in irgendeiner Art beschädigt wurde, etwa wenn das Netzkabel oder der
Netzstecker beschädigt wurden, Flüssigkeit oder Gegenstände in das Gerät gelangt sind, das Gerät Regen oder
Feuchtigkeit ausgesetzt wurde, nicht normal rbeitet oder heruntergefallen ist.
15.Der Erdungsstift darf nie entfernt werden. Schließen Sie nur an die Stromversorgung der Art an, die am Gerät
neben dem Netzkabel angegeben ist.
16. Wenn dieses Produkt in ein Geräte-Rack eingebaut werden soll, muss eine Versorgung über die Rückseite
eingerichtet werden.
17. Hinweis – Nur für Großbritannien: Sollte die Farbe der Drähte in der Netzleitung dieses Geräts nicht mit den
Klemmen in Ihrem Stecker übereinstimmen, gehen Sie folgendermaßen vor:
a) Der grün-gelbe Draht muss an die mit E (Symbol für Erde) markierte bzw. grüne oder grün-gelbe Klemme
angeschlossen werden.
b) Der blaue Draht muss an die mit N markierte bzw. schwarze Klemme angeschlossen werden.
c) Der braune Draht muss an die mit L markierte bzw. rote Klemme angeschlossen werden.
18. Dieses Gerät darf nicht ungeschützt Wassertropfen und Wasserspritzern ausgesetzt werden und es muss
darauf geachtet werden, dass keine mit Flüssigkeiten gefüllte Gegenstände, wie z. B. Blumenvasen, auf dem Gerät
abgestellt werden.
19. Belastung durch extrem hohe Lärmpegel kann zu dauerhaftem Gehörverlust führen. Die Anfälligkeit für durch
Lärm bedingten Gehörverlust ist von Mensch zu Mensch verschieden, das Gehör wird jedoch bei jedem in
gewissem Maße geschädigt, der über einen bestimmten Zeitraum ausreichend starkem Lärm ausgesetzt ist. Die
US-Arbeitsschutzbehörde (Occupational and Health Administration,
OSHA) hat die folgenden zulässigen Pegel für Lärmbelastung festgelegt:
Laut OSHA kann jede Belastung über den obenstehenden zulässigen
Grenzwerten zu einem gewissen Gehörverlust führen. Sollte die
Belastung die obenstehenden Grenzwerte übersteigen, müssen beim
Betrieb dieses Verstärkungssystems Ohrenstopfen oder
Schutzvorrichtungen im Gehörgang oder über den Ohren getragen
werden, um einen dauerhaften Gehörverlust zu verhindern. Um sich vor
einer möglicherweise gefährlichen Belastung durch hohe
Schalldruckpegel zu schützen, wird allen Personen empfohlen, die mit
Geräten arbeiten, die wie dieses Verstärkungssystem hohe
Schalldruckpegel erzeugen können, beim Betrieb dieses Geräts einen
Gehörschutz zu tragen.

After unpacking your amplifier check that it is factory
fitted with a three pin 'grounded' (or earthed) plug. Before
plugging into the power supply ensure you are connecting to
a grounded earth outlet.
If you should wish to change the factory fitted plug yourself,
ensure that the wiring convention applicable to the country
where the amplifier is to be used is strictly conformed to. As an
example in the United Kingdom the cable colour code for
connections are shown opposite.

INTRODUCTION
HH RED enclosures – a truly modern sound designed to give you the best audio
performance in a wide variety of applications from recorded playback to live music,
front of house or monitor. Its your choice.
Both the RED-12A and RED-15A covered by this manual utilise our highly efficient and
musical Dual Input 400W Class D amplifier module that delivers smooth power across
the frequency range with outstanding performance. The amplifier is driven by a
lightweight switch mode power supply, with a 2 way passive crossover supplying the
signal to the British designed HH drivers. Simple but effective controls allow intuitive
adjustment of the powerful amplifier stages, such as an EQ preshape switch, level
controls and a balanced link output to connect to other active cabs.
These lightweight, portable, full range moulded enclosures, can be either floor standing,
mounted on a pole or tripod stand, or flown from the fitted M8 flying points, the
discreet styling is ideal for installations. Both cabinets are furnished with a 35mm pole

Combine a pair of either cabinet (to suit individual needs) with a VRS-115A sub and you
have an incredibly compact but powerful full range system that would fit in any venue.

HH ACTIVE PA CONTROL PANEL
1 & 2. COMBI INPUTS: A General Purpose
balanced input compatible with balanced XLR and
balanced/unbalanced jack signal leads.
Note; as this is a balanced input, a stereo signal
cannot be connected to this socket. It is
compatible with microphone level inputs and is
suitable for direct connection to a microphone.
Use only good quality shielded signal cables.
An individual level control is provided for each
input. Turned fully anticlockwise the control is OFF,
rotating the control clockwise passes through the
Line Level section up to the top centre position
(nominal 0dB) and into the Mic section.
Note; Experiment with this control to find the
best position for the device that you are
conecting.
3. POWER LED: Illuminates when the unit is
connected to the mains supply and switched on.
4. CLIP LED: Illuminates just before the amplifier
begins to clip and distort. Adjust the level controls
and signal level from your source so this illuminates
only briefly on peaks in the music. Using the system
with this on all or much of the time will result in
poor sound quality and possible damage to
speakers and electronics.
5. AUX IN: 3.5mm Stereo Jack for connection of
an auxiliary source such as an MP3 player. The signal
Level is set by the volume control on the device
connected. (Ensure that this control is set to
minimum before connecting).
6. MIX LINK OUT: A balanced XLR output.
Signals present on either or both of the Inputs &
AUX IN will be mixed together here to pass the signal along to another active cabinet,
mixing desk or PA system.
7. EQ PRESHAPE SWITCH: When the switch is 'out', the EQ is flat across the
range. Engaging the preshape circuit gives a slight boost at bass and treble frequencies
with a small mid range cut. The Pre-shape circuit is applied internally only, not to the
Mix Link Out.
8. VOLTAGE SELECT SWITCH: This is factory set to the correct voltage for
the region the product is supplied to. If necessary it can be reset by removing the mains
lead and then loosening (but not removing) the screws securing the cover. The cover can
then be pivoted away from the switch which can be moved to select the alternate
voltage. DO NOT reconnect the mains lead until the cover is replaced and secured.
9. MAINS INLET: IEC input for connection of an appropriate mains lead.
10. MAINS SWITCH: Turns the system on and off. Ensure the level controls are at
minimum when switching on and off.

Mic/Line level signals can be connected to the
inputs using a balanced or unbalanced XLR or a
6.3mm jack.
The mixed input signals can be supplied to another
active device through a Male XLR from the Mix Link
Out socket.
The cabinets are suitable for use as floor monitors,
mounted on a pole stand or
flown (by qualified personnel only!).
USEFUL HINTS AND TIPS
Unpacking
Inspect the product during unpacking, if any damage is found, notify the dealer you
purchased it from immediately. Be sure to save the carton and all packaging materials.
Should you ever need to return the unit back to the dealer or HH Electronics, use only
the original factory packing.
Basic Setup
HH Red active cabs can be mounted on the floor, a suitable pole or tripod, or flown
(See safety note below). Connect a suitable mains lead to the mains inlet on the rear
panel, and a line level signal to the input. Set the level controls to minimum before
switching on.
Switching Off
After using the amplifier, please adjust the gain level controls to their lowest settings,
then the amplifier can be turned off safely. Turn the power switch to the OFF position
and remove the power cord from the electrical source.
NOTE:
Do not connect or disconnect from the input signal source when the amplifier is turned
ON, damage could occur to the amplifier and the speaker.
If the amplifier is in standby mode without use for over 3 hours, remove the power
cord from the electrical source.
?All speakers should be balanced and steady. If stacked strap them together to
improve stability.
?Don't overextend poles/tripods; ensure at least 4 x the pole diameter is still inside
the outer pole.
?Make sure the legs have a good splay on tripods, but do not obstruct doorways or
other access-ways
?Ensure the top cab is smaller/lighter than bottom if using a pole.
?Keep lights away from speakers; heat can cause fires / speaker damage.
?Don't run cables across access-ways; if you have to, run them above doors or use
approved cable covers.
?HH Red cabinets are fitted with M8 flying points for installation and suspended use
in horizontal and vertical orientations.
?Note that suspension or 'flying' of cabinets should be performed only by
properly qualified persons, in compliance with all local laws and using
approved hardware'.
?Be aware of total power usage. Overloading a mains socket is potentially
dangerous, and likely to cause a power out during use.
?Keep lighting cables away from ALL sound cables including mains, use separate
circuit for lights if possible. Keep power and signal cables apart

?Run all cables neatly, use cable ties to tidy excess cable length in 'figure-8' not
loops.
?Use electronic safety devices such as circuit breakers. Start with EQ settings flat and
gains low.
?Master volumes should be at zero for switch on and off.
?Use the minimum cut or boost in EQ. If all bands are boosted or cut, flatten EQ, re-
adjust gain and start again.
?Use input gain to set maximum signal level without distortion (use VU meters, bar
graphs or peak lights). Amps should have peak or clip lights illuminating only on signal
peaks, not all the time.
?Set up mic levels first, and adjust other equipment to match.
?Avoid very high onstage levels from backline amps.
?When using separate power amps, turn the level of the amp to maximum. Control
overall level from your mixer, not the power amp.
?Avoid damp environments and extremes of temperature for storage and use of all
audio equipment.
?Look after your cables. Do not stand equipment or run cases over them, do not tie
knots in them and always use them for the correct application (a signal lead is NOT a
speaker lead). Coil and secure with cable ties before storing.
?Ensure your equipment is properly loaded and cannot move around during transit.
