HPE StoreOnce 3620 and 3640 Systems Start Here
Use this guide when installing a basic system without optional storage products and with all PCIe cards pre­installed. PCIe cards that were ordered with the system are pre-installed.
Use the HPE StoreOnce 3620, 3640, 5200, 5250, and 5650 Systems Installation Guide in the following cases.
The system includes optional storage products or capacity upgrade kits.
The system arrived without PCIe cards pre-installed or requires additional PCIe cards.

Abstract
This guide describes how to install a basic HPE StoreOnce 3620 or 3640 System that does not include optional storage products. The StoreOnce System can then be fully configured using the StoreOnce Management Console, as described in the HPE StoreOnce 3620, 3640, 5200, 5250, and 5650 Systems Installation Guide.
Process overview
Required tools:
Torx T25 screwdriver
A monitor and USB keyboard or a KVM for initial network configuration
Procedure
1. Verify the contents
2. Record the iLO default network information
3. Install the components in the rack
4. Attach the security bezel
5. Connect the system cables
6. Power up
7. Configure iLO during bootup (optional)
8. Configure the basic network
9. Configure the StoreOnce System

1. Verify that you received the following items:

Rail kit
Security bezel

Two power cables
Two network cables
Recording the iLO default network information
Procedure
Record the iLO default network information from the label on top of the server node.

Installing the server in the rack
CAUTION: Use extreme caution when installing
and pulling units from the rack. Unattached units can slip and fall, damaging the StoreOnce System or causing personal injury. Hewlett Packard Enterprise is not responsible for any damage or injury caused by mishandling the StoreOnce System.
Always use at least two people to lift and locate an enclosure into the rack.
Procedure
1. Install the rail kit for the StoreOnce server. See the
installation instructions that ship with the rail kit.
2. Insert the two locking nuts for the server into the rack; one on each front column.
3. Install the server into the rack and secure it using the thumbscrews on the front bezel of the server.
2. Lock the bezel.
The key to lock the bezel is attached to the back of the security bezel. One key is supplied.
Connecting the system cables
Procedure
1. Connect the power cables.
Connect each power cable to a separate PDU in the rack.
2. Connect a network cable to LAN port 1.
3. Connect a network cable to the iLO port
(recommended).
Attaching the security bezel
Procedure
1. Insert the security bezel right tab into the slot on the
chassis and then rotate the bezel to close.
4. If you are not using iLO for initial configuration, connect a VGA monitor and a USB keyboard.
Powering on the system
Prerequisites
All storage enclosures must be installed and cabled before the system is powered on. For instructions about installing optional storage enclosures, see the HPE
StoreOnce 3620, 3640, 5200, 5250, and 5650 Systems Installation Guide.
